Two of us walked in and the bartender/server told us to sit anywhere. Shortly after that she brought the menus which need to be replaced. We ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger with cheddar and fries. The burgers are half pounders and looked great. The fries are fresh cut so they are wimpy greasy fries just the way any one serves them. Our Pepsi and waters were brought with straws already in them so someone touched the straws to put them in the drinks. The men's restroom is down two steps and down the hall. No problem. BUT if you want to use the stall you have to back yourself in and stand behind the side of the toilet to close the door. Kinda odd. Would I go back again? Yes. Great bartender/server. read more

Sadly I visit the establishment at least once a week. Last night (Tuesday 17 Feb) I went in for dinner with a guest. I sat at a table and waited to be serviced. I sat there exactly 37 minutes and NEVER saw a waitress. The only worker on duty was the female bartender who only serviced the bar. I got up and left. What gives? Here is the deal. Read the reviews and we love dive bars with good food. So we were in the area and had to try it. Looks like lots of regulars which is good. Seating is far apart for COVID and you can sit in any open seat. Seems clean no complaints. Smoking is outside on the patio which now is too cold to hang out so lots of smokers out there. Butts are everywhere. Note the pictures of the menu are outdated on this page. Prices are at least $1 more and up. Still good. Just not what you see on the page. Got the chopped sirloin with baked potato. It was good but that's it no onions, mushrooms or anything so if you want something a bit more than get a salad or another side to go with. This once well known biker bar was a jewel in an oasis. WAS. It is now smelly, dirty, run down and a health department hazard. The seating is ripped, and the moment you walk in, you can smell the previous night's follies. Sitting in a booth, the table top was sticky, and we were given menus (regular menu and a Chinese menu) I am so confused. We got our drinks knowing the past food and how good it was. We were going to give it a chance. Drink glasses were dirty and the last straw was my husband's drink that was supposed to be sweet tea. (It was not sweet tea; rather some watered down version of tea bag water) We got up, paid for our drinks and left. I did not see anything in the menu worth risking my health for. read more

A great destination when out on a motorcycle ride. Abby was a joy to meet along with many of the customers we interacted with. Who knew a biker bar could have real Chinese food??? Iron Pony Saloon is a great dive bar that serves excellent food. My mom and I had the filet, which came with a baked potato, and it was absolutely delicious and affordable ($12.99). Our server was an attentive, sweet girl. No complaints other than the stench...not sure what it was, but I definitely noticed it when I walked in. Check out this place! We stopped there Tuesday night. Had a great filet, reasonable price. We started out to go to Mohican Lodge, got there very disappointed in their menu. It looked like a short-order cook was trying to make fancy meals at outrageous prices. Everything came with coleslaw & waffle fries. Iron Pony served a delicious steak at a reasonable price! Very tasty!!! Our server was great, attentive, friendly. Since it was our 52 Anniversary, my husband left a good tip for the extra attention!!! read more

Solid, good food. Steak was actually so good, I had two! Cooked perfectly. Served hot and juicy!!! Service was really quite good. Friendly. Attentive. And fast. Not sure if it was because I was with a regular and local, but they seemed attentive to all the tables. Total dive bar... Which was awesome. Location is large and hosts a wide variety of folks. Bad experience all around! Had great expectations as Iron Pony came highly recommended. Service was less than great, we were quite obviously not "regulars" and were treated as such. Apparently wanting to eat at a clean table is too much trouble for the staff to handle. After waiting a good 5 minutes To even be acknowledged I asked the bartender if we had a sever or if we had to order from her. She threw some menus and silverware down on a clearly dirty table. When I mentioned that the table needed to be wiped down she said we were very busy and walked away.... Absolutely unacceptable behavior, even in the lowest end establishments, which is what this place is. Carry a towel in your back pocket. You're a bartender for pete's sake..... even if you don't have one, kindly say you're a little busy but try to make a point to come back over and clean the table for us, or ask someone who can. By the way, this place wasn't that busy where they couldn't wipe a damn table. The server herself was nice. You can tell she was carrying the team while the rude bartender stood by and did absolutely nothing. I honestly can't get over the rudeness of the bartender to her fellow staff and guests. This place has great food, but will say that not always the friendliest servers. They are usually slammed busy when we've been there, so could be why. But still...lol. Anyways, the burgers are amazing and come with a huge amount of fries, or you could have a pretty decent sized salad as a side. Let me preface this review by saying that I always come here after a long hard day of work on a farm and am super duper hungry. Honestly, I love this place. But you have to go in with reasonable expectations. This is a bar out in the middle of farm country that also happens to have a food menu. The place is filled with local redneck farmers. There's country music on the radio and the weather on the tv (I think when we were there last night another tv may have actually been playing an infomercial). With that in mind: It's a really no-frills joint with good food, cheap prices, and all of the common beers. I usually get the pony burger. For $7.99, it's a half pound burger (made from chopped steak, so the meat's coarser/more delicious than run-of-the-mill ground beef) with all of the fixings and more hand-cut fries than you could ever eat. I have never ever finished a plate here, but always leave "fat and happy." From a satisfaction standpoint, I would give this place a five, but to be honest, you can't always be sure that what you ordered is what you're going to get (my husband and I got each others' meals last night, but his came without the toppings he'd ordered, so he didn't notice until he was 3/4 finished with my burger. Cool saloon in the middle of nowhere. Check out the patio if it's open- loud music and great atmosphere. Burger and fries make a solid meal but everything on the menu is good including the steaks and their daily soups. Downstairs they have pool tables and a bar while upstairs has a bar, the seating is more family friendly. Good spot for bikers or anyone looking for a good meal. read more

Great atmosphere at an Oasis in the middle of corn fields. Best $17 Ribeye I've ever had. Anyone bashing the place doesn't understand that you are in the middle of God's country Ohio and to find anyplace who serves cold beer and rock solid food is a blessing. This place was jammin on a Thursday around 7:00. We grabbed the last booth to see a line forming quickly from the outside. The service was good, she quickly grabbed us some beers ($1 dollar drafts) and took our order when we were ready. My only complaint is that it took us almost a hour to get out food. Like I said there was a lot of people in there, some families, some construction works, and regulars at the bar. I ordered the fried fish which was stellar and my date ordered the steak, both were generous portions. We will definitely check this place out again, maybe for more drinks next time! Drove past this place while visiting family. Had one of their iron pony saloon burgers with American cheese and pickles. The burger was pretty good. I also ordered the soup of the day which happened to be cheese and broccoli. Tasted great with my burger. I'll be coming here a lot more often. read more
