Having my nephew put his mark of excellence on me, gives me a feeling of great Pride, STRENGTH & HONOR! I arrived at the Bad Donkey Company this past Sunday, thrilled to have my nephew put his magic ink on me! It's been years since my first tattoo and I was a bit nervous but knew that Mitch was the ink master capable of taking my idea and transforming it into an epic masterpiece. Everyone made sure I was hydrated and all my needs were met. They even checked up on my husband who was waiting patiently outside. My calf never had so much fun. Alex would put "stuff", a very technical term I know, on my tattoo, always with a clean paper towel. She did tell me every step of the way what she was doing and with what ... but I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember Stuff). Then she would put some balm on and massage my calf. If she kept that up, I would get a bigger tattoo. Leo, the owner would come in and check in on me. He has a great sense of humor. The whole team is a great group. You cannot help but walk out there feeling better than when you walked in... I understand that Leo is a great singer, has a green thumb, and loves life. But those are just rumors. Only thing I would call out is, customer service is not exactly friendly. If you like overly sarcastic tattooers that are on the verge of disrespect, this is probably the place for you. To be honest, if I was the one getting the tattoo, I probably would have walked out, but our bachelorette was determined to get one. Also, not COVID friendly at all, FYI. I was recently in Missouri visiting the fams and mentioned to a friend that I wanted to get the…read morebottom of my naval pierced before my flight back. He drove me to Hollywood Rebels. I do live in Boston and had been told by someone here and they wouldn't do the piercing because due to the structure of the naval, it would be more of a surface piercing than the regular naval piercing and thereby would not heal correctly, like ever. The girl I spoke to at Hollywood Rebels .. nope. She was mad eager, told me to sign the form, shoot her an ID, and we were off. Piercer looked young but found out she had been doing this for over a decade. She was super friendly, very thorough and informative, and totally vibed with the fact that despite my eclectic piercings and tat, I get nervous about ten seconds before the needle thing happens. Great piercer, gentle as hell, and the place was extremely hygienic, all things super important for those seeking body modification. The girl told me to come back sometime because she likes seeing picture of her final products and I definitely will the next time I'm in the area. Final cost: $50. Super impressed. Edit: Come to think of it, I'm having a huge deja-vu moment and think I might have been at this joint a few years back to fix a piercing that had partially closed. All positive from that experience, too.
