Awesomeness... Everyone there ...the receptionist Deana (I hope I spelled it right) to Alex, the wonderful tattoo artist, to Greggo, the best line dancer ever, and Leo where does one begin...there are no words for Leo. This was my first tattoo.. Alex was fabo She took my thoughts and transformed it into a piece of art. Everyone was professional and also a lot of fun.. my kind of peeps I would recommend them.. I would drive the 10 hours to get another one...they are all that awesome! If you want a meh tattoo go anywhere...if you want a tattoo that screams creative artistry go to Sweet Ink Tattoo... and they are all professional artistic loving life kind of people. They take your ideas and develop them into beautiful tattoos. I wanted the birth flowers of my kids with names as part of the stems on the right side of my calf. Alex was wonderful. She took pictures through every stage. It was very helpful. She stopped and made sure I was comfortable... always...I had a lot of fun. They are very thorough. Everyone made sure I was hydrated and all my needs were met. They even checked up on my husband who was waiting patiently outside. My calf never had so much fun. Alex would put "stuff", a very technical term I know, on my tattoo, always with a clean paper towel. She did tell me every step of the way what she was doing and with what ... but I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember Stuff). Then she would put some balm on and massage my calf. If she kept that up, I would get a bigger tattoo. Leo, the owner would come in and check in on me. He has a great sense of humor. The whole team is a great group. You cannot help but walk out there feeling better than when you walked in... I understand that Leo is a great singer, has a green thumb, and loves life. But those are just rumors. I'm 52 years old, and I've never written a review in my life. In my lifetime, I've had my fair share of poor customer service, but nothing comes close to what I experienced today. Here's how today went: So I booked my appointment with Leo's Sweet Ink ahead of time. My appointment was scheduled for noon. I got a call from the receptionist saying she over-booked the schedule and wanted to let me know that they had one customer with a small tattoo ahead of us and it would take 20 minutes, possibly 30 at the most. Even though our appointment was delayed, I was nevertheless excited because this was going to be my first long-awaited tattoo with a good friend of mine, who was excited as well. She was counting on me to find a trustworthy place to go, and after looking at some reviews, I figured this was that place. After getting there, instead of waiting 20-30 minutes like we were told, we patiently waited for an hour until I finally asked the receptionist what the hold up was. All she said was that they would be with us shortly. We waited even longer and I asked the receptionist to ask the tattoo artist how much longer it would be because we had other important things planned for today. They said they would get my friend in at 1:30 so I decided to leave and shop for a bit and when I got back at 2:30 she was STILL waiting. At this point, I could tell she was upset, but she didn't want to tell me that because she knew how much this meant to me to bring her here. I again asked what the issue was and they said they would eventually get to us, whatever that meant. By then it was 3:00 and we had been waiting for THREE hours. The owner, Leo, must've heard that we were upset and came out in the lobby to talk to us. We were met with many poor excuses. At this point, I didn't care anymore about getting MY tattoo. I just wanted my friend to at least get HERS. I told him this, and he still couldn't tell us when she'd get her tattoo. After waiting a total of three hours, he offered JUST my friend a free tattoo and to schedule it for a later date. I messaged the shop on Messenger shortly after this experience because I was still frustrated and confused about what me and my friend experienced. The owner was offended that I told him how unprofessional his business was earlier today. I understand that people have a bad day and things can go wrong, and I also understand they had a new receptionist, but I wasn't told that until the very end after sitting in confusion for three hours. They had every opportunity to tell me what was really going on. After voicing my frustration a little more with the owner, he ultimately decided to revoke his offer of a free tattoo for my friend and went as far as to BLOCK me on Messenger. Not once did I cuss at him, raise my voice, or anything like that. Just an owner's hurt ego. I've been in customer service for 32 years and if I made a BOOKED customer wait in confusion for three hours then I would expect them to walk out the door frustrated and to probably never come back. I was told by the owner that I was being "over the top" in my response to all this, but I don't think the way I voiced my customer experience was over the top. I let my friend down my choosing this place. I want all small businesses to thrive, and the last thing I want to do is leave a bad review. I believe the owner let his ego get the best of him when he decided to NOT stick by his word when he promised my friend a free tattoo. Instead of punishing me, he punished her. My friend did nothing wrong. He even booked her appointment and everything. Sad. I hate to say it, but I would leave a zero star if I could, but a one star will do. I hope future customers will not have to go through what me and my friend did today. Businesses have bad days. I hope today was just one of them and not a regular thing. I'm sure the tattoo artists here are good people and wonderful at their job, but a lack of communication and professionalism is what me and my friend were met with today. read more
