It was a huge project we knew we'd have to do when we bought the house nearly 5 years ago and TBH proved to be the best team for this job. We'd heard nightmare stories from friends and family about working with contractors on remodels, but that was 100% NOT our experience with TBH. While we hope we don't need to do another major remodel, we would recommend TBH Sterling to anyone without hesitation. We started working with Wes probably 2 years ago, but had to delay our project due to a work layoff. Wes periodically checked in on us until we were ready to proceed. Wes' communication with us was our first impression of TBH and gave us a lot of optimism for how things would go generally with TBH. After the design phase, we worked with Collin during construction. We had weekly meetings but even beyond that, Collin was really wonderful, friendly, communicative, and patient. Everyone TBH hired - whether in-house like Collin and Jeremy or subcontractors - for the work was excellent in remodeling our home, were respectful of our time and space since we were living in our basement during the remodel, and the craftsmanship itself is superb. Collin really excelled at managing our 5-month construction journey together. We don't anticipate TBH returning to fix anything, but their 7-year warranty is pretty generous and gives us peace of mind that they will stand by their work in hopes that they will not need to return. We also appreciated that when delays happened due to weather or miscommunications, TBH owned them and made it right, ultimately completing the project more or less on time and 100% within budget. We're thrilled with the finished product (it's gorgeous!) and look forward to many years enjoying our remodeled home together, thanks to TBH and their skilled, diligent work.

At that meeting, we were told we needed to install flooring under the cabinets. After speaking with a contracting friend and two other companies, everyone said that was incorrect. This led me to doubt their professional knowledge and expertise. After the initial meeting, everything started going by the wayside. They missed appointments, were hard to get a hold of, and changed their story. We went from picking out materials to needing another appointment for the contractor to see the home. During the second appointment for measuring and seeing the home, they "measured" by measuring at an extreme angle. The contractor, in charge of demolishing our kitchen, demonstrated no knowledge in how to properly measure (it was NOT an area needing an angle to measure). That was concerning. They also didn't know the business hours of their own vendors. When we decided not to continue with FC Construction, they were honorable in giving us a refund. But when we called to remind them, the owner told us the refund was in the process. The next day, the main company line called and asked for our refund information to issue a refund. So it being "processing" was a lie. I didn't trust them to start any work, so I have no idea how their work is. But I wouldn't recommend based on the many red flags mentioned above. Kind people, though.

Fast Forward to November 2024. My house was hit hard by the Bomb Cyclone. Dealing with the insurance was a headache I was not familiar with.
