Day time visits seem to be the way to go. Night time is a big no for me. Dirty floors and standing around waiting for a pick up order that had been ready. During the day, the service is phenomenal and everything is kept clean. I'm looking forward to going back very soon.

We ordered drinks, a frozen strawberry margarita and a lime margarita on the rocks. For dinner my husband had the nachos panchito and I had the Pollo y Espinacas. Approximately 5 minutes into my husband eating and drinking his lime margarita, he had to go to the bathroom. Then to the truck. Finally, to the hospital as his chest tightened and he began throwing up in the parking lot. He is having ALLERGIES TO SOMETHING SHELLFISH!! After getting him help, I called to speak with someone out of fear that a child would be introduced to this contamination. Nope!!!! Sent to voicemail! I'm pissed. So so so mad that I'm seeing red! DO NOT GO HERE EVER!! Not only did they make my husband so sick on my birthday, they wouldn't answer the phone when I called to warn them of the mistake. There are three things that make this place stand out in a sea of Mexican restaurants. 1. Service…read more- From the first time we came in, weeks after they opened, we found a unique feature. Every employee is considered your server. Yes, you'll have a primary, but you'll be asked several extra times if there is something you need, or to take dishes out of the way. At first it was a little annoying, but we've learned to love this excellent service. Then you will find there are some exceptional personalities that emerge. Our favorite is Leydis, but all the servers are well trained and work hard to make your visit special. Leydis' husband Orli is frequently the bar tender. For a special treat, try his "Margarita Fresca" made with fresh squeezed juices. 2. Decor - The restaurant is decorated with a vast range of hand carved furniture, which we learned is sourced from Tonola, a suburb of Guadalajara. As I understand it, the owner of the furniture factory is a partner on the restaurant as well, so there is some exceptional art. Be sure to wander a little while you can. 3. Food, there is a wonderful variety of choices, including some I'm sure you've never heard of. They do a great job on the molcajete. We have our "go to" dishes, including one they specialize just for me, but I encourage all to experiment. Two more special things to consider. First, we come a lot on Tuesdays in part to take advantage of Taco Tuesday (see photo). At $1.99 each, it's a better price than even fast food tacos, and you get these beasts instead. Second, be sure to ask for the hot salsa sampler. Each has a very unique flavor, but a manageable 'bite'. I think they should feature this, and include information on the origins of each flavor. *Absolutely* the best in Lake City, and our favorite anywhere in the states that we have visited. Well worth the trip for us (we drive 30 miles every week to go).
