If you are looking for more than a morning pastry and coffee you may want to pass. Got a chicken panini for lunch and the avocado was hard as a rock and there was a ton of cheese on the sandwich with barely any chicken. Rather expensive for a sandwich that doesn't come with any sides. Other than that the shop itself is cute, but Avalon has a ton of other better lunch places. read more

Just stopped into my favorite beach restaurant, Isabel's, and I had to write about a delicious new menu item. I love all their sandwiches but decided try their new Veggie Burger - great decision on my part. It was so moist and flavorful that I was tempted to order another after I finished! It was served on a wrap with a hummus spread and delicious tzatziki dipping sauce. They have added a few new items to the menu this year and now I am excited to try those too. I come here to gather breakfast pastries for the fam and house guests. They are very, very tasty. We have also picked up a number of desserts here that have never failed to please. Never had anything else though i.e. pizza/sandwiches/etc. Loses a star for price, but it is Avalon and everything is absurdly overpriced. Don't let the smoothie whiner deter you from Isabel's. I ordered a bacon,egg and cheese on a bagel: no life to the sandwich. There was one girl working two portable gas burners with a line that at times was twenty deep. I heard ownership has recently changed and I can definitely tell! The food was great. I used to be confronted by this older lady who harassed me and asked if a stipulation in my trust fund was that I could only wear wrinkled khakis and some "unbecoming topsiders". (obviously that is not true and I am allowed to wear what I want). Now, I am greeted by a group of lovely young ladies and the most delicious crab cakes ever.
