This was one of the good restaurants in grand fiesta at Coral Beach Cancun Mexico. Make sure you always have a reservation because this place gets really full and the vibe inside this restaurant was pretty upscale. The staff was super helpful and nice people. Their service was outstanding. They definitely can improve on the food options because since it was part of the package or all inclusive there was not a lot of food options when you think about seafood I mean, think about , going a different country to a coastal side of Mexico some or many seafood but that was something missing, but I don't want to take away any from them because they serviced the people the ambience divine selection was outstanding and no doubt I am going to go back there again because we really enjoyed the vibe and the place in general

We had dinner reservations at Isla Contoy during our stay at the Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach. We had a great experience. We had a great view of the ocean and they had live music. Santos and Carlos were our wait staff. They were very attentive and helpful with food suggestions. They made our visit memorable.

Service - terrible. Servers are roaming around , chatting, paying no visits to tables , there came bread and then plated after ten minutes. They don't come twice and we kept waiting for everything. Food - horrible. What a bad taste! We had Chicken nuggets - over fried and stale Mac n cheese - bad taste, dry and tasted like watery sauce in it. Ravioli - bland potpourri of vegetables Lasagna - ok, something to fill our stomachs. Filet fish- average. Comes with some dry chewy barley , no flavors no taste. French fries - great!! They come with everything! Would not recommend.

Food was great, I loved their ceviche, very fresh. They also have other dishes with mussels, scallops, squid and shrimp. Service was great, friendly and attentive staff. Ambiance was beautiful, we sat by a beautiful view of the Carribean sea. Though some seagulls might want to join you for a meal overall very relaxing.

I had mixed experience at this restaurant during my stay at the hotel, was debating if I should give a two-star or three-star ratings given my four-star experience for lunches but super horrible experience at dinner. The restaurant is located next to the Ocean at Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Hotel. The breeze from the ocean created a naturally nice ambiance here. We had lunches several times here and specifically enjoyed their fried whole fish dish (a must try), the seafood pasta (super fresh shrimp and scallop) and the service provided by one of the middle age waitress during lunchtime. She was really friendly and we had some happy chats during our mealtime. However, we had super horrible experience the night we reserved dinner here. After we were seated, no one came to ask us what to drink or what to order even after we waved several times. We had to stand up to call out the server to come. After that, we were treated in a discriminative way (the table next to us were treated very differently). When we ordered the food, the server had no response and wouldn't even want to talk to us to confirm the order. Then everything came at the same time with wrong quantities of order and main dishes being served cold. Moreover, there wasn't enough space at the table to put down all the plates but the waiter still did so, ignoring our request to switch to a larger table. We had to lift our plate with hand while eating all the cold food which was ridiculous. Also, the seafood soup was too salty and they didn't give us spoon until we asked several times. Both salads tasted so plain. The seafood rice tasted so hard. The only okay dish was the lasagna but it was cold. None of us were in the mood of eating anymore, especially no one came to clean up the plate when we finished one dish and we had to put empty plate on the ground to make rooms for eating. What really pissed me off at the end was a while after we requested to take away the candles for kid's safety, the waiter purposely being another candle back near the end of the meal, with the only opening face facing my kid. What a horrible waiter! Strong advice: never come here for dinner.

This is an absolutely wonderful buffet located at our hotel. Steak, seafood, italian, mexican, japanese, they have everything your heart could desire. I especially enjoyed the prime rib but everything was delicious.

How about some fish tacos and a Hamburguesa beside the beautiful ocean? That and much more is what you can get here. Even if you arent staying here at the Fiesta Americana I suggest this resturant for lunch or dinner for the location, atmosphere and view.

Don't order the seafood pasta! Stick to the Mexican options.

The venue is great with a view of the Caribbean. This all outdoor restaurant wants to be an international bistro with Mexican favorites added in. The service was an absolute disaster. The food was mediocre. If I didn't pay for an all inclusive stay at the Fiesta Americana where this restaurant is located I wouldn't go back. We tried quite a variety of dishes from the shrimp cocktail to the seafood pasta. The shrimp cocktail is basically cut up shrimp in a chilled tomato based sauce. It was ok. The fish tacos were greasy and otherwise tasteless. The dogfish fried tacos were subpar. The seafood pasta was pathetic. A thin, bland tomato sauce that was somewhere better than ketchup and a miserable helping of not so fresh shellfish consisting to three shrimp, two small pieces of squid and one dry mussel. The ceasar salad with shrimp -- such a basic -- was basically two sections of romaine, three puny shrimp and the dressing tasted like Mayo with anchovy paste. The service disaster began with a hostess who we basically had to be firm with to not get a table in the bright sun. Then came the salad snafu. We ordered a Cobb w chicken and a ceasar with shrimp. We got the reverse. Others in the party took those salads anyway and we asked for a shrimp ceasar. After a wait a chicken ceasar arrives. I was besides myself because I had been clear, spoke Spanish and had remarked that I didn't want chicken. The waiter actually had the gall to say that's what I asked for. Unbelievable! On the third attempt it arrived and it was a total letdown. Fortunately the mezcal we ordered was good.

It's huge, as far as presentation it's not very fancy, it was tasty but as large as it was you'd think it had more alcohol to offset the size. But it did not. My wife ordered the aguachile with octopus. I ordered the Tuna Burger, and we got the steak quesadillas as an appetizer. My wife said she would give her aguachile a 3.8 out of 5. I thought the tuna burger was very tasty. Basically they took a tuna steak and put it between a hamburger bun. I can't really compare it to a regular meat burger. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things to try, I thought everything was good, but nothing that was so good it made me want to hurry back.

The menu is simple with just enough options to where everyone can find something they like. I had the skirt steak tacos and my friend got fish tacos, We also ordered a frozen margarita and mojito that were huge!!!!! The prices were fair for what you get and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The music is not too loud so you can have a conversation with your group. They are not pushy to get you in and out like other places. Will definitely be back

All-in-all it was worth the inconvenience. Very eclectic menu, warm atmosphere and outstanding service. I started withe the Mango-Tamarind: Lettuce, Indian walnut, mango, blueberries, Cotija cheese, mango-habanero dressing and tamarind billet. Unique and tasty. "Swiss Chicken Enchiladas" for the main course was not what you get at a local Mexican joint -- Four tortillas stuffed with chicken, bathed in a creamy tomatillo sauce with melted cheese and a base of refried black beans. This was a 5-star dish! I couldn't resist ordering a side dish though I didn't need to because the enchiladas were really enough, so I indulged myself with fries: these were not your run of the mill French fries. Porfirio's Potatoes -- French fries with chipotle pepper aioli, parmesan cheese and parsley. Finally, if you like ice cream I highly recommend that you order BOTH offerings: 1) "ICE CREAM TASTING" - Strawberry ice cream, chocolate ice cream from Metate, marzipan ice cream and vanilla from Papantla. Served with grated coconut, chocolate grain, M&M's, Oreo cookies and ice cream cones; and, 2) "PORFIRIO'S MOLECULAR ICE CREAM" - served with cajeta Worcestershire sauce in an ice cream cone. (I know it sounds disgusting right? Nope it worked. The chef is just showing off with this dish)

I took some notes and this is what I thought of the dishes. Xoajacan Imoladas - The mole is perfection. The flautas, superb. Everything in this plate is a symphony of what I would expect from Xoajaca. 9.5/10 Barbacoa Bonemarrow - Barcacoa is on point. The Marrow is Sublime. Together with the accompaniments is superb. I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak. Needs a little more zip, some citrus or vinegar would give this salad some justice. Its a little uninspired 7/10 Service is impeccable and attentive and the atmosphere is lovely.
