We spent a week in Sevilla, and this was our least favorite restaurant by far. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was just off. This place was the epitome of a tourist trap, with overpriced tapas, mediocre food, and a "fancy" atmosphere that didn't match the rest of the elements of the restaurant. We fell the for the good reviews, and by the end of our dinner, we were pretty confused by the whole experience.
The food wasn't bad, but it lacked flavor, and everything was highly overpriced. We've gone to fancy tapas restaurants in and outside of Spain -- this wasn't it. The tapas were no better than any other fast-casual tapas place, yet the prices were quite steep, and the portions were small. We were also shocked by how quickly the food kept coming out... In a city and country that's known for people taking their time and not rushing, this was a huge red flag. Even with a bottle of wine, we had to try hard to make our dinner last an hour. This led me to believe that all the tapas were already pre-made. There's nothing wrong with that, but why are they so expensive if they're not even fresh?
This brings me to my next point... the service. The service was just weird. The servers were hovering over our shoulders the whole time. It was bizarre. We couldn't finish a dish without them being steps away and coming by and removing our plates or asking if we needed anything else. It wasn't just our table -- it seemed they were rushing everyone, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded and they weren't closing for another two hours.
All in all, I'd not recommend this place. There are so many incredible places to dine in Sevilla, and this isn't one of them. read more
