We rented two unusual bikes: 1) Adult bike with a trailing kid bike. 2) Adult bike with a kiddie trailer. Our toddler loved sitting in the trailer, strapped in, saying "Whee" all around town (she's 1). Our 5 year old, who is an avid biker, felt safer attached to mom or me, and we felt better not having her run circles around us and in traffic. We took the tandem onto the beach at low tide and it was surprisingly easy to ride for miles. I hadn't ridden a bike for almost a decade, but we jumped at the opportunity every day and Two Brothers gave us a couple of free days thanks to our rental return date being Thanksgiving. He also kept us entertained the whole time! Also, Patrick was a wealth of knowledge. He shared a lot of the area's history as well as teaching us a about the local flora and fauna. Who knew there were marsh rabbits that actually swim? By the way, the picture is a Wood Stork. Unfortunately we did not get to see it carrying any babies. The rest of the folks at Ocean Motion were awesome. I waited until the last minute to book my kayak excursion. Not only did they get me a spot, they let me ride with Patrick to the put-in (my wife had taken our car). The store at Ocean Motion has a great selection of high quality clothing and other outdoor items. My wife picked up an awesome Patagonia shoulder bag. I got my new favorite shorts made be Howler Bros. I was not familiar with the brand but they are truly my new favorite shorts! I would highly recommend Ocean Motion for both shopping and kayak touring.

There bike selection has changed a bit over the years and now all the bikes are the same color but they offer bikes with the add on for children to ride along the back. The store sells cute clothing as well and little things like sunscreen in case you're in need. The staff are always very helpful with recommending bike routes and things to do while on the island. We were able to get up close and personal to the airport and see and hear the planes take off right over our heads-very cool! We did ask for a map twice after reading that there are twenty miles of bike paths and they explained that the "bike paths" are sidewalks throughout the island. While that may be the case, it would have been nice to have a paper guide or app to show us the different options. You could ride on the beach, in parks through neighborhoods, etc. but it would have been nice to have an idea of which way to go depending on what we wanted to see. Overall, I highly recommend biking as a beautiful way to see the island!

There is a double wide sidewalk that goes a long way down the coast and it provides excellent views and places to hike or bike Plenty of hotel options to stay at. Many of them are dog friendly but be sure to check. During peak season it can get $$$ Driftwood beach and the pier are two of my favorite places on the island. The ruins are also a neat place to hike. I have posted separate reviews for all the places I've really enjoyed in the island. The food on the island is a mix of delicious and let downs. Be sure to check out some of the restaurants that are not right in the town village part. The locals tend to avoid them and after my last couple of visits I will too.
