He is a caring and skilled professional who prefers conservative measures. Patient comfort is very important to him. He waited to invest in a digital x-ray machine until he was convinced that the technology had improved enough that the patient would be comfortable. I have had a couple of crowns and a filling or two done by Dr. Roan and he is very good with the novacaine; I have never had the slightest twinge of pain during any procedures (and I'm a dental fraidy-cat). He and his staff are very good with teaching effective self-care techniques. The hygienists and administrative staff who work there are also very skilled and professional. They keep right on schedule, too; every time I have been there they have taken me right on time.

I originally went in on an emergency case basis, and have continued my care from there. Dr. Patil is just wonderful. He and his staff made me feel completely comfortable from the moment I walked in. He explains everything clearly, reviews all treatment options, and provides pain free care. I had two root canals performed by him and never felt any pain at all. He even called me personally the morning after a particularly difficult procedure just to make sure I was feeling well. I have never felt so at ease at the dentists office! Their appointments do book up quickly, but you can always leave a note that you would like to come in earlier for an appointment should one open up (and they actually follow up for you!). The office was just remodeled and is very comfortable.. all treatment rooms are private.

During a cavity/filling procedure, I could feel a lot of pain as he drilled on my tooth. I kept telling him how bad it hurt and he basically said you need a higher pain tolerance or I can't work on your tooth. The Novocain he gave me didn't cause the numbness it is supposed to. He ended up sending me home without fixing the problem, telling me I need to see a specialist. He charged me $180 for this visit. I have dental insurance that covers cavities and filling but he said since he didn't fill the tooth I have to pay. This made no sense to me. He didn't do his job by fixing the cavity and I have to pay. I have been to 5 different dentists and have never, I mean never had an experience like this. He made me feel so uncomfortable while I was in the chair.

I tried to quell and just say yea, ok, but she kept right on. It was very inappropriate. Some people have anxiety about the dentist! I will say, I have been spoken to by their staff in a very inappropriate way in the past, hence my review. There are ways to deal with this situation and this was the worse avenue to take.
