Coron is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular destinations in the Philippines, especially after experiencing the Island Escapade Tour. My sister and a family friend signed us up for this amazing two-day tour. They had participated in it two years ago and invited the family to join this year to make it even more enjoyable. With fifteen of us in total, we had the boat all to ourselves.
I want to give a standing ovation to the incredible team of workers who guided us over the past two days. Our main tour guide, nicknamed "Kulot" (his real name is Nelliam), along with Mira, John, the chef, Captain Sparrow (the boat driver), and two or three other crew members, made the experience unforgettable. Nelliam entertained us with his delightful stories and took creative pictures and videos of us. He helped us pose for these shots, showcasing his talent and innovation. We all absolutely love the pictures!
Two vans picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the port. Mira guided us to the dock, where the staff helped us board the boat. A few of us ladies found it a bit tricky to climb the narrow steps up to the ship, but some of the workers were there to assist us by holding our hands and arms. We had a list of beaches we were scheduled to visit, but Nelliam decided to change the order. He mentioned that certain areas would be crowded at specific times, so he wanted to take us to other spots when it would be calmer..
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit that I can't swim, but my 12-year-old daughter is an expert swimmer. She has had swimming lessons, which helped her a lot! My two sisters on the other hand, can't swim either, so I don't feel too bad about it. Fortunately, the crew was invaluable and understanding. They assisted us in getting in and out of the boat and the water. While we snorkeled and admired the beautiful fish underwater, they guided and supported us. They even held our hands as we crossed to the beach. Despite not knowing how to swim, I felt extremely safe in the ocean!
Our boodle fight lunches were delicious on both days! We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including fish, chicken, pork, seaweed, vegetables, and noodles--the list goes on! It was very thoughtful of Mira to ask us what we wanted to eat on the second day. Additionally, the chef was generous in providing sweet banana ques after our hike and serving toron the next day before our tour ended.
The entire crew genuinely cared about our well-being. They ensured we were safe both in and out of the water, and while going up and down. They made sure we were well-fed, had enough water, and even provided us with sweet treats just before the end of the tour. The team truly went above and beyond our expectations!
The only challenge with this group is that it's hard to book them unless you know Neri Villamor's name. I learned from my sister and her friend that she can be contacted through Facebook. They don't have a website or any other way to inform people about the outstanding service they provide. That's why I plan to use Yelp to help spread the word to millions.
