The WORST experience ever. My special needs daughter has mild cerebral palsy. We explained to the nail technician that she couldn't relax her hand. He kept batting it down in frustration. my manicure wasn't much better. AVOID this establishment at all cost. read more

Honestly super bad experience! My nails are super chunky and very uneven! You can tell where the dip is missing. I asked for square and got some sort of mix between duck nails and rounded square! They are rude and disrespectful. You can not ask or suggest them anything because they interrupt you saying that they know what they are doing and if you don't like, you can go and find another saloon. Have been using GA Island Nails since I moved to SSI 4 years ago. They are thorough, always have the colors I want, are consistent with applications of base coat, 2 coats of polish & a protective coat. Their pedicures are my favorites. I called this Spa to schedule a mani/pedi for myself and my mother. I scheduled at 10 am for a 1pm appointment. The lady then called me back at 12 pm to tell me that she has a garage sale the next day and doesn't have time to do it. What?!? Kevin and Kelly are great!! Their work is so good! They are such hard workers and are very ethical and professional . They have done my nails for over 5 years and I will not go anywhere else. My mom just moved here and I take her to Kevin and Kelly also. When Kevin first saw Mom's nails, he told her he could not put acrylic on them because they had terrible fungus underneath. He has helped her get them well over the last few months by giving her regular manicures. Her previous manicurist had not pointed out the problem with mom's nails and just kept coating them with acrylic to the point that she was about to lose several of them! Another very dear thing about Kevin is that one day when Mom drove herself to the spa, Kevin walked her to her car and guided her as she backed out- just to be sure she was ok!! read more

Took my young daughter for a treat. Blatantly lied when asked how long it would be. "Five minutes!" Then completely rude once they actually did get to us 20 min later. Seemed to resent doing services for a little girl, since kids "polish change" costs less than a full pedicure. Daughter's polish peeled off the next day. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars for this horrible place. I went here and took 7 of my closest friends and family members to get our nails done for my WEDDING DAY. What a mistake! They didn't have the glitter polish I wanted and when I asked for it they acted like they had it, started on my nails and then when it came time to paint, they "all of a sudden" didn't have it. They argued with my MOTHER and started yelling at her when she tried to explain what we wanted. When she finally just accepted the crappy version of what we wanted (because they had already started by telling us they had it) they started jerking her hands around and completely stopped interacting with her. Then, when I went to look for an alternative, they told me they were in a hurry and I needed to pick something faster. The ONLY reason I stayed and finished what they had started is because I was about to get married and didn't have time to go somewhere else and get it fixed. The lady made fun of my cuticles and then didn't do anything to them. I asked for a manicure and a full set and I got a crappy full set put on, uneven and painted like crap. They didn't clean out underneath the nails and they didn't cut down the corners of the nails. I was so upset about the experience and I still am. I had to hold the tears in and so did my mom. It was absolutely horrible and I will never, EVER, step foot in this crappy place ever again. This place has NOTHING on Ruby Nail Salon on Demere Road. They are the BEST nail salon on St. Simons Island. Period. read more

My mom and I went to Island Georgia Nail Spa in the Redfern Village on St. Simons Island for relaxing vacation nail treatments. Both the customer service and the treatments were both really disappointing. We walked in around 10:45am on a Tuesday morning. A couple of people were already there and all of the staff looked to be busy with someone. We were rudely barked at to quickly pick out our colors, even though it was clear that it would be at least ten minutes before someone was available to help us so I am not sure why we needed to rush. No one gave an indication that that they were pleased to see us or happy to have us there. My pedicurist was extremely rough, particularly during the lower leg massage, really just pulling my legs in different directions. My mother's manicurist just slapped and jerked her hands around as if she were a machine. No relaxation whatsoever. They failed to put on any protective coat of polish so that the polish was chipped within an hour. read more

I received a gift certificate from my children for a manicure and pedicure. The woman assigned to do my nails first gave me a pedicure and did an adequate job. Next came the manicure, It started out ok but 1/4 of the way through, a gentleman came in the salon and my technician was called away to assist him. The owner came to complete my manicure. Unfortunaly, my nails had been clipped by the woman but he paid no attention to the fact that she had not had time to shape them and I was left with squared off very odd shaped nails. one very thin coat of polish, and not so much as a smile or acknowledgement that I even existed. Next day my daughters asked what had happened to my nails because they looked so terrrible. Within two days the polish was coming off. What a waste of money. I live on St Simons Island and will never return, neither will my daughters , their friends, or mine. I was treated very shabbily by the owner and it was made clear that the male customer was more important than I was. read more
