I arrived today to do many loads of laundry. The parking lot was empty and I parked at the end under the shaded area and began dragging in my massive amount of work. (Property flooding) A gal arrived and claimed to be a manager and demanded I move my vehicle out of the shade as it was "her parking spot) no sign Once inside I found the fronts of the machines dirty and need of cleaning. This gal many friends to visit and many hours spent in the office despite customers arriving to pick up their laundry by the pound or bag services. So, facility could use some cleaning and not sure why I "had" to move for this manager when no signs were posted. read more

Do not use their change machines! They eat your cash and do not dispense change. I almost lost $20. It took me three return trips and finally insisting to speak with the attendant's boss or the owner before she forked over my $20, which she had all along. Also, go light on soap because the machines have so much soap residue already in them, you don't need much. read more

This place is filthy! The machines have dirt running down the fronts and soap powder layered on the tops. Plus, there is a service fee to purchase a preloaded card that you have to use that is not disclosed. read more

Don't come to this laundry mat unless you want to loose money! I'm from out of town, and found out after I washed my clothes that the dryer at my airbnb was broken. So I went to the bank to get $5 in quarters so I could go to a laundry mat to dry my clothes. I got to the island laundromat and saw that the machines were on a prepaid card system. No big deal, the laundry mat back home is on that system too. The card machines only took dollar bills. It wouldn't take a credit card or coins. Annoying, but able to roll with it since there's an atm on site. There is also a machine that will break down larger bills to smaller bills so you can prepay the laundry card on an appropriate amount. So I pulled out $20 from the atm and then put the $20 into the small bill machine. It ate my $20 without spitting out smaller bills. I was pissed. The attendant was on her lunch so I waited until she came back. She was able to give me my money back. However from the other reviews it appears this laundry mat is not staffed all the time. So if you go during one of those times you could loose your cash if you use those machines. I got my money back front the attendant and asked her for smaller bills to dry my clothes. She said she didn't have any change, so I asked her how I should do my laundry. She told me to put my $20 in the card machine (I had one batch of drying and am flying home tomorrow) I laughed and went across the island to bubble laundry. read more

Well if you come here at 7pm I bet the place is a madhouse. Maybe that's where the bad reviews come from. I'm here at 8am, it's clean, quiet and believe it or not the americano made out of the vending machine isn't that bad First, come with plenty of $1.00 bills to hedge against a broken change machine. You'll regret it if you've got to make a card with $10 when you only need $5 on it. Speaking of which, the machines use either the card or coins...as in they take one or the other, not both. So settle into a machine you like, put your laundry in there and then decide whether to do the cards or coins based on the washer you've got. As of today it $1.00 soap, $3.50 wash ($6.50 huge family washer available too). $4 or so bucks will dry your clothes, less so if you've got light garments. Last if all, THEY OFFER WASH AND FOLD SERVICE!!!!..........in by 9am, out by 5pm. If I had one more day of undergarments, I would have taken that option. Since I didn't, you'll have to call for pricing on that. read more

Do not ever use this establishment to do your laundry, they are a fraudulent operation that will scam you out of money. On Sat. 5-13 I went there and the machines only take a plastic card that you have to purchase from a machine and the card cost you $1.50 just to get a card. A nice customer was there to walk me through the process of using this card and the washing machines and I put 2 $10.00 bills into the machine to load the money onto the card that I had to buy and the card came out with no credit on it. There was a sign there giving a phone # that said was manned 24/7 but the numerous times I called that day and subsequent days after never got answered. I texted that number explaining what happened, never getting a response. So, my advice is go to Bubbles laundromat on Maxwell Dr. They have newer machines, they take quarters and not some scamming plastic card system. Stay away from this place. read more

This laundromat is packed with commercial laundry businesses who use up all the machines and folding tables. This facility is filthy. There is about 4 inches of dust between the machines and visible dust everywhere. Many of the machines are out of order. There is garbage on the floor. To top it all off, it's very expensive. The commercial laundry workers are loud and irritating. The vending machines have nothing to offer and what they do have is sparse....like one can of diet coke. This is the worst laundromat I've ever been to. read more

I was in town on business and needed to do laundry. My hotel recommended island Laundromat. This place is a dirty tourist trap. You HAVE to pay a $1.50 for a debit card that only works there. I put $20 on the card but only used $15 worth - the balance is non-refundable. The least expensive washers were $3.50 & the dryers were $0.39 per five minutes. To top it all off, there was no change available for the laundry soap vending machine. I had to drive up the street to buy soap. There is NO ONE working at the laundry and the doors lock automatically at 11pm. They made an announcement over a loud speaker to tell you that you would be locked inside at 11pm and the police would be called to let you out. This place is a dump - I'll wash my underwear in the sink at the hotel before I ever come back to this place. read more

This place is worse than ever ! After the fire only now if you had money on the original laundry card your loss in fack you don't get any credit at all and the only thing they fixed was the laundry card and the way they charge for use of their machines . The card readers on the dryers work great and charge every time you swipe not only that but same with the washers . Not at all like it used to be where you had to swipe and hope it credits you time now they all work . The washers don't work out of 4 machines we tried not one would work . They took money and credited the washer but it never filled until rinse cycle $5.00 wasted but that was x 4 on 4 loads we didn't find out until after we lost $20 most of all we thought we would just find someone there around 2:00 PM to help , but nobody was there so maybe we could call mgt. But they don't have emergency number anywhere ! Wow this was unreal , we couldn't believe it , they do offer plenty of signs to let us know that the cards we used to use won't work now and we just lost anything we had in laundry cards and that's just to bad for us we lost and they can't help or even try , because they had a fire but the only thing they fixed was their bank and laundry card reader witch cost nothing for them because they already had our cash and anyone else that uses a budget and plans to spend x dollars a month on laundry etc. If all added up how many people lost $5.00 , $10.00 or $20.00 per card . Sorry just have to loose the owners don't care or this insurance job they pulled worked out better than expected because only damage was laundry credit cards they collected on and never had to pay out now other than that nothing else changed but now most of the machines don't work properly or not at all and a couple machines had signs on them to let you know it worked but no hot water or something . This place was only concern was to get your money . We never got to do our laundry and $24.50 later we wasted over an hour we will never get back and $24.50 in cash we would be surprised to ever see again I rate this the worst place to try and do laundry . The bad smell of gas is gone now . They had to know that was a sign of possible fire with all the gas dryers and one leaking , the whole place smelled as I just washed my toilet out . Another clue was the only thing replaced was the credit machine and the credit readers on the equipment, but one might think that a dryer or 2 might have burned up but I didn't see one new machine at all not even one fire damaged . But the credit machine was replaced . Hugh that seems fishy , maybe just a little bit , only my opinion but you make your own review cause this place is terrible. read more

Was in need of a laundromat during our beach vacation on HHI. I did my research and realized I don't have many options and headed to island laundromat for their advertised 9am-5pm laundry service. I went at 8pm, no attendant around to accept my bag of laundry. I came the next day at 8am, no attendant to accept my laundry again. Eventually we ended up doing the laundry there and confirmed what the other reviews said. The place is dirty, the machines are no well kept. It seems the place is used for laundry services of hotels as there are many people bringing in bags of towels and linens, etc. Also, the reason 'we' did the laundry there, rather than just me, is because I didn't feel safe there by myself. The place seems shady (and I live in NYC). Lastly, the place is definitely overpriced, but that's to be expected as there are barely any laundromats on the island. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Avoid! read more

I find yelp a very useful tool when locating where I need to go. With Island laundry it was the closest place to get laundry done. The first review on yelp I definitely should've trusted. The machines were hit or miss on working, and very dirty. The bill exchange machine was broken & the reusable card machine also problematic. Fellow yelpers this place is usable but I do not recommend. read more
