Off the beaten path, well sort of, it is located on Center Street but it's on the east side of town. The staff here are great. My favorite part is when I buy smokes they give me matches. This place is pretty chill though they stay busy. They offer a wide selection for a store of the beaten path. I spend a lot of time at my close family's home just up the hill from the Island Market. Whenever an ingredient is missing from a recipe, we want some ice cream, or a cold beverage is what's needed to keep the night rolling on, the Island Market has proven flawless in having whatever is desired. The space is limited and it is a convenience store, so the prices and selection aren't at a wholesale value, but it's worth the extra payment to only have to take a 50 second drive down the street. read more

The Island Market is great for what it is -- a convenience store. I would guess that the majority of its regular customers live within a three block radius. If I'm cooking dinner and find that I neglected to pick up some requisite ingredient, The Island Market is sure to have it on hand. I was even able to pick up some canned pumpkin for a soup I made this September, way before canned pumpkin is seasonally popular. The Island Market also carries an interesting selection of local produce and baked goods. They brew coffee from Cafe Ibis and always have an assortment of bread from Crumb Brothers. Of course, with such limited shelf space, groceries at The Island Market are a little more expensive than they might be at larger stores, but if you're lazy or forgetful like me, you'll just be thankful for the abbreviated trip. read more

Very cute, wholesome place. The people working there seemed nice- didn't hover, but were happy to answer any questions or show where a product is kept. Lots of local goods. Outside they have a tire pump for bicycles and a little area to tie up a dog, if necessary, and even had a little square of grass for them. read more

I was excited and expecting island products as one who has lived on an island for a year and a half. Come to find out it's just a glorified convenience store. The only island like product being a paltry banana stand. That is the only possible earthly reason I could conjure that would lead someone to name it the island market. Actually getting inside the "island market" is a whole other story. The establishment lacked proper signage indicating a designated parking spot for my vehicle. However they did have very nice looking grapefruit and an excellent cookie selection. I can't be the only person with this concern. There is now an island shaped hole in my heart that I must fill with mango smoothies and katsu chicken. read more

New owners....double the price. Yes, as expected the prices are higher because it is a convenience store, however...you don't expect to pay Double. I shop here on my way home or if I forgot something it is about 5 blocks closer than Smith's, however one (1) small can of dogfood was exactly the same price as one (1) large can at the grocery store, which equals out to be double. IMHO that spells...RipOff and the off-brand was only 4 cents less. Realistically, the previous owners did have a reasonable increase, they also had large cans for only about 50 cents higher than Smith's, new owners have no large cans. For what I paid for 2 small cans of dogfood I could have bought 4 similar cans at Smith's or 2 large cans. Can't afford to check out their other prices. I am just going to have to 'drive on by' next time, go 5 more blocks and spend 20 cents on gas to get over to Smith's. Not worth stopping at Island Market, Especially when you leave feeling ripped off, that feeling alone is enough reason not to shop there. read more

My boyfriend and I like it, love their selection of organic products. Sure it's more expensive but I haven't personally bought anything that was double the price at another store. In fact their organic grass fed beef was significantly less expensive than you'd find elsewhere. read more

I love this market. One of the few corner markets left in cache valley that isn't a gas station. Great to grab a cup o joe or that last minute item. OMG they even have school supplies, cleaning, baking and last minute local gift ideas. Chk it out, always an experience. read more

Despite being a regular Yelp user for a long time, I'm one of those people who has never written a single review. (I know, lame) I felt the poor rating of this store was so inaccurate that I was compelled to contribute. I've been a regular patron of the Island Market for nearly 30 years. It has always been fabulous. Even though I no longer lives in close proximity, I will still go out of the way to shop there, especially when I need only a few items as it is a huge time and $ saver. I dont have to walk a 1/4 mile or more to get from my car to the milk and back, pass and be compelled to purchase dozens of unneeded items, and wait in line to checkout. Recent changes have transformed the Island Market into a hip, locally owned/supportive option, and hugely increased health conscious choices available. Good music, decent beer selection, and rad staff are nice bonuses as well. Admittedly, I do venture into the scary world of Walmart from time to time, but only when I need a list such as milk, a toilet valve, windshield wiper, and an HDMI cord, or Maceys when shopping for a long list of groceries.
