I came here for the first time last Friday based on a friend's recommendation and the positive online reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The appointment started out fine--I was taken back right away--but my friend and I came together and they separated us, doing my pedicure while she had her nails done, so we couldn't even enjoy the appointment together. The bigger issue was the quality of the services. Anna did both my pedicure and manicure, and she was very unfriendly throughout the appointment. I paid $100 for a gel manicure and pedicure, and the results were nowhere close to what I expected. My toes barely had one coat of color, so they look uneven and unfinished. My nails look terrible--the polish doesn't even cover the entire nail, my cuticles weren't pushed back, making them look grown out immediately, and the gel is already catching on my hair. It has only been 5 days and my manicure is already chipping. For comparison, my gel manicures normally last 3-4 weeks, so having this happen after only 5 days is unacceptable, especially for the price. Getting your nails done is a treat, and with how expensive everything is right now, it's incredibly frustrating to spend that kind of money and feel like it was wasted. My friend had an acrylic fill done at the same time and had a similar experience. After paying $65, her nails still had the obvious indentation showing where a fill was needed. I honestly don't understand how this place has the reviews it does. Save your money and go somewhere that values their customers, provides quality work, and makes you feel welcomed. I definitely won't be returning. read more

they did the acrylic very good but once he painted my nails he flooded my cuticles, painted my fingers, and made it just look kind of unprofessional. I do my own nails at home and decided to go and get my own nails done. I am confident that if I did these at home I could've done them better. overall an okay experielve, but a little disapointed about the nails, and they talk very little to you and a lot to there coworkers. read more

I just left your place. I have to say, when I got home and explained to my family member why it cost $40 more than what I expected they were shocked! The starbursts were really hard to see and not worth so much extra without the black backing. I get that you told me the colors "fade" from the sample, but I expect you to plan for that. Had a pedicure and dip nails done. The tech that did my pedicure - basically rubbed my legs, not massaged. Not worth the price for upgraded lotions, if they are gonna barely rub your legs and feet. The tools used was n a blue plastic bag, (I thought freshly cleaned). However, I watched what she did with the tools and she put them on her manicure station and just left them there. A few minutes later I'm getting my nails done, the tools are still at her station and three people comes in for pedicures and she went picked up the tools that she used on my toes and started using them on the next customer. This is unsanitary and gross. They need to make sure tools are sanitized. read more

First off, let me declare that I and my friend, BOTH have been to cosmetology school and graduated. We know standard, safety and cleanliness protocols. I, my friend, her daughter, and her daughters friend went to get full sets and pedicures. My friend and I, besides being cosmetology graduates, have been getting our nails professionally done for 30 years. We know technique and when we are getting a good job. All four pedicures were rushed, equipment was not cleaned after us and used on other clients. This is not only unsanitary, it's dangerous and can spread infections as well as incurable diseases. The pedicures were subpar and nothing comparable to all of the inspirational photos we brought on our phones. All our designs were simple, basic that any tech would be able to easily complete. Next, we each went to get our full set of sculpture nails for our hands. My personal nail tech used dipping powder (cheaper product for natural nails) instead of sculpture nail powder (harder more durable product) but I was still charged for sculpture nails. My nail tech, I suspect, wasn't even certified or licensed and was practicing illegally by how quickly and how poorly she put the product on my nails. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt. In cosmetology class we learned never to apply nail product touching the skin or base of the nail. If nail product touches the skin, it will cause the nail to be compromised, get air bubbles, crack and lift. I have ten dip nails, when I asked for sculpture, all touching the base of my nails and my skin. It is under 24 hours and all my nails are already compromised and beginning to lift. I asked for a square tip shape and my nails were shaped oval. I believe that there may have been a language barrier and certain nail techs spoke absolutely no English and just nod and say ok pretending to understand. This is poor customer service from ground zero. I was charged 70 for my fingers that are already falling off. I asked for the 40 dollar pedicure and without my knowledge, or consent they charged me an extra 20 dollars for gel polish I didn't ask for. All and all they scammed my friend and I out of over 400.00. My friend came home and redid her nails and toes. An egregious thought after she paid 300 dollars to have her nails done. Due to the extreme poor application of my nails, I'm getting my nails redone elsewhere. Island nails are NOT legit, certified nail techs. They are running a racket. Do not give them your precious hard earned money. read more

They sliced my finger open in two places and burned my daughter! The lady was going way too fast and my full set was awful and didn't listen to me so the color was wrong. Had to get them fixed elsewhere. Then was rushing my five year old who just wanted her nails pained and pulled her foot under the table almost pulling her off the chair and burned her on the drying lamp. She continued to try and grab my daughter and I stoped her and pulled my daughter away. Worst location ever go to Bliss off bulter hill. Worth a drive to not be assaulted and mistreated and have terrible looking nails for the same price!!! Terrible!!! read more

Absolutely horrific experience. My 2 year old daughters polish came off 1 hour after leaving. I called and said we would be back the next day and made an appointment. Cindy was rude when we came back in. Told us we had to wait 30 minutes even though we had an appointment to get our nails fixed. I told her i would just take a refund. She said "we dont do those". Told us we weren't welcome and our nails were fine. She then yelled and made my 2 year old cry. my nails were horrible. She made them chunky and clunky. They were all crooked. And she made me bleed. They lasted 3 days before popping off. Her station + all the stations are dirty and dusty. When we got pedicures they used old tools on my feet even though I requested a new pack. My toes were gel and ripped off right away. This place is atrocious. We called the health department. Our credit card reimbursed us all the money. We documented our nails. Toes. And bloody fingers. Gross. Also, their bathroom not only isn't to code. Its an absolute hazard and has bugs on the ground. read more

Well... I didn't know that Gel toe nail polish was standard here. They will bug you to upgrade and add on anything they can and then they don't tell you you're getting gel on your toes until they ask you to put your toes under the black light. I got a pedicure, and dip nails and they told me it was 10 extra for the gel on nails as I was paying . I am not happy. I spent $100 on nails total. And then the lady insulted me by asking if she can clean up my eye brows. This is a jeffco buisness that will try and charge you for every little add on that they can. Beware. This was my first time at this salon. I chose this place because my brother's girlfriend had just gotten her nails done and they looked really good. Her nails weren't as "complicated" as mine but they weren't one solid color either. The first picture was what I showed the man. He kept talking to everyone about it and kept pointing to my phone. So I said if it's too complicated I can choose something else. To which he said nothing. These were out of my normal nails I would usually get so I wanted them to look good. My brother's girlfriend also had line work on hers and they looked great. The guy did everything until the line work. Then a girl took over. She did the darkest line. Then someone came in for a fill and she left to go do them. The guy took back over and honestly was just sloppy with it. You can tell he didn't really try to follow her first line. He was very quick about it and I could tell it wasn't going to look as nice as if the girl had done it all. I'm not unhappy with them, but I definitely think they could have looked better if someone did them with more care. He also got paint around my cuticles. There was more than what is pictured, but I had picked it off. I suggest if you're wanting anything other than just one color, go elsewhere. read more

I never do reviews but just had to this time. The person who did my pedi was so rude, & she did it super fast. I don't know if she's the owner or not; she's probably in her 40's I'd guess. She didn't even TRY to fake being friendly. I get pedis regularly & have gotten them all around this area, but have never been treated so poorly by a nail technician. Wow. I took my daughters here to get their nails done for vacation. There seemed to be a few nice staff members but sadly we got the owner. As my 10yr old daughter said "she is scary". Very abrupt, and extremely rough! I will say she does entirely too many things at once, which I'm sure is stressful. She answered phone calls, and directed everyone coming in the door, all while doing nails. She spoke to the people coming in the door without looking up, and when people didn't answer her (because they had no idea she was talking to them), she'd loudly say "yoo-hoo" or "HELLO..." They were pushy on more expensive options, completely disrespectful and took their feelings out on our pedicure. I went in a few days ago with a gift card from my boyfriend of $60. I told them the shape and color I wanted and presented a picture. The results where awful. I got matte grey nails and the paint bubbled up underneath, and eventually started to peel off by that night. The next day my boyfriend called for me, to see if we could get them fixed for free due to how bad they turned out. She said they'd fix it. They took off all the paint and re did it in a different color and with gloss and not matte. And the paint is some how still bubbling, and completely peeling off on others.. here are some picture so you can see for yourself. I got them repainted yesterday, keep in mind!!!! Terrible experience for the last 2 months. Last month went for pedicure and my girl stuck me with some tool she was using and I told her she hurt me, no apology or nothing.. okay, we all make mistakes, then went again yesterday with my grand daughter and this time , got the same person (omg) but, she massaged me so hard I nearly jumped out of my chair and the girl next to me who was doing another customer seen my reactions and she had to tell her to be gentle. When she was ready to use the scrub brush thing she scrubbed the side of my toe so hard , she took the skin off my toe. I am done with this place, will NEVER go back again. The said "no mani?" And I said "no". She said "eyebrow"? And I said no. She said "her eyebrow are long". Which embarrassed her. Then we said we wanted to sit together. And they said it wasn't possible so we sat apart. She said "sugar massage $2 extra" I said no and she immediately said something in Chinese to the woman next to her.
