Got my initial piercing while out-of-town, went in for an earring change and so wish I had done the piercing here instead! Raven is amazing. Professional, knowledgeable, kind and truly takes what she does seriously. She saw a potential problem with my piercing and told me what to do to prevent it from happening. She also hand wrote the instructions so I had a step-by-step guide. Even told me to come back in a couple weeks so she could check it again. A nice place to grab some souvenirs. I was only here for a postcard, but I saw that they have the typical gift giving items: t-shirts, hats, key chains, desk trinkets, etc. The store was colorful and had an eclectic feel since it had an assortment of random souvenir items. Well, you know what I mean if you've ever been in a souvenir store. Lol. Parking was plentiful since this place was in a large complex. The store was neat and tidy. Unfortunately, this review needs updated. My dermal piercing fell out shortly after. I had to rush back to have them put it back in. Then while out of town a few months after, the screw fell out. I went to 4 different piercing places who all could not get the screw back on. They said the dermal was damaged. They ended up having to pull it out. Do you you know how painful that was? Then when I called Island Republic about the issue they basically said it wasn't their problem since I didn't go back to them. Um, I was out of town? If you are looking for dermal piercing, I'd probably try someone in Savannah with better products, experience, and customer service. read more

I actually just ended up needing to get it tapered because it's been a couple years since I had a earring in and it was a smooth process! She's knowledgeable and talked me through the whole process! I called 45 minutes before arriving to Island Republic for my cartilage piercing and they told me that I'd have to wait at least 20 minutes... it ended up being 1 hour. The employees at the register were completely useless and argued with me on how I couldn't choose what earring I wanted. Although that part was horrible, once I was finally seen by Raven she was absolutely wonderful! She helped me feel less nervous about getting a needle stuck through my ear, and kept her workspace very neat and clean. She made sure I knew how to properly take care of my new piercing and was super sweet to me and my sister. Overall I'd give this place a 7/10! read more

I highly recommend Alejandro. I went in today to have a nose stud changed out. He made some informed suggestions and took me to the back sterile environment where he made sure to wash his hands, put on a fresh pair of gloves and sanitize the new stud. He was very gentle considering the backing to the old stud was kind of gnarly and tender. A true professional. read more

This place was completely rude, I am 17 years of age and had my id and my mother with me, they would not give me a piercing due to the fact that my mom has a different last name. They said that there could be another Woman with my moms first middle and last name and could not except the fact she was my mother. We brought our insurance card in and still wouldn't except it even though I was on it and she was too. Why would I be on there if I wasn't related? Makes no sense I'm never going back to this place. I called them beforehand and they did not tell me I needed anything aka a birth certificate, completely rude and discriminating against divorced parents! Plus they were vaping inside of the store, and why would I bring my birth certificate if I am on vacation which I explained to them. Wouldn't recommend going there and also they looked like they didn't want to do the piercing at all. They said that my mother wasn't my mother. read more

Terrible experience. Showed up, took 30 minutes to wait to get a piercing. At first I understood that the piercer was on lunch. I did not mind waiting. However, when the girl did get back the second girl at the register turned out to also be a piercer. This annoyed me because I could have gotten pierced 30 minutes prior but did not. I would have simply left then but i was told that there is no returns and i would not get my money back if I left. What really angered me was that after getting the names of the piercers, it turns out that the two girls who pierced me were not licensed to pierce and one of the girls had never even done my piercing before. It was her first time doing it and it made me very uncomfortable. Even going into the piercing room made me very uneasy. There was very loud innapropriate music playing and the piercers were joking around and were not being proffessional at all. The girl who pierced me also smelled strongly of cigarettes and I did not appreciate getting pierced from someone who had CLEARLY recently smoked. So basically she was on drugs and utilizing piercing needles in a supposedly sterilized and clean environment. In the end, I am never coming back. I strongly suggest to get piercings from ANYWHERE else but there. read more
