The business end of the operation seemed pretty efficient and with electronic record keeping will have no problem finding me and my specifics out in the future. Mason was fantastic. For having simple needs and not too familiar with piercing he was friendly and energetic and wanting to make sure I had any and all my questions answered. When I was an idiot and placed my hand on an area he already sterilized, he simply re-sterilized it without a fuss and didn't seem put out (as it happened twice because i am a moron). Mason discussed options and details that I hadn't considered and shared some of his experiences with me to help with my decisions. My piercing has been healthier than other ones I have had for longer and after the initial 'pinch', it hasn't been sore at all. I have gotten a nose piercing here several years ago and the woman I worked with was very friendly, fair and detailed. I loved how experienced she was and the quality of the jewelry and how sanitary the shop was. This drew me back recently when I needed some changes to a piercing. The place was still very clean, sanitary and they offer great quality jewelry. Unfortunately, the women working weren't as friendly and personable this time. One of the women were very personable and friendly with a child that was getting pierced, but not as much with the adult clients. I even noticed some not so great comments being made about a potential customer that had called in with questions. It just seems like the customer service aspect could use some improvements. I had a great experience at Planet 3 Piercing! I went in without an appointment on a Friday afternoon to get my daith piercing. The shop was clean and the staff was very professional. I filled out some paperwork, and I only had to wait a few minutes before being taken back for my piercing. I was suuuuper nervous, but Mason made me feel more at ease. He explained the whole procedure in detail before we started, and the piercing chair was reclined and comfortable. Not going to lie- it hurt like hell! But I'm a big baby. Jules, Danie and Mason have all been part of my adornment. All have been honest with their opinions and have said "no" to some piercings I had been interested in. I went to Planet 3 Studios to get a slightly-impulsive lip piercing (side labret). This is probably the best piercing experience I've ever had. Both employees I interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. Mason (the piercer) was so nice! He was very friendly and helpful and answered all of the questions I had. I went in to get one piercing on the right side and I brought up that I might want to get the other side done in the future; to make sure that I would still like the piercing placement if I end up getting the other side done, he marked them both out at equal distances to show me what it would look like to make sure that the placement of the current piercing will still look good if I want to pierce the other side. When I told him that I was afraid of needles, he was very understanding and helped me calm down a bit; but I was still kind of freaked out, and admitted to him that I was nervous because I had never gotten a piercing without someone present before. He then offered--in a very non-judgemental way--to bring in someone to sit next to me; I agreed, and the person from the front desk (who's name I didn't catch, sorry!) came in for a moment and held my hand. The piercing itself was quick and virtually painless, it hurt less than a flu shot. Most of the pain is just soreness, but that's mostly faded now (~6 hours later) and it's mostly overridden by getting used to feeling a piece of metal in my mouth. The facility was also very clean, and they had their health inspection noticed posted which made me feel even better about the cleanliness. The piercing room is a small, private room away from the front, which I appreciated (last piercing place I went to in Washington state had the piercing area open to the front). Overall: if you want a piercing, GO HERE! They'll do a great job and make sure you're comfortable every step of the way. read more

Let me start by saying I have been to Planet 3 , three times now. The first two times were a pleasant Experience. Mason did an initial nose Piercing and it was the best experience I could Hope for. Months later, I went back in after saving up and purchasing a 14k diamond nose ring that I had been wanting for a while. I made an appointment and Mason made the jewelry change and it was another great experience. Today I had an accident and accidentally pulled out the nose ring and made an appointment a few Hours later to have them once again put it Back in. I arrived early per their request , and told the girl at the desk what happened. She called over the girl working ( never got her name) and she was the rudest person I have ever met. Her first words To me after looking over my Shoulder at the nose ring was "I can't put that in!" When asked why, she proceeded to Tell me the jewelry was not up to her standards and should not be put in anyones piercing. When I looked stunned at her response and told Her I didn't understand because the other piercer never said a word and had just done it two weeks ago, she proceeded to talk ugly about him and that he shouldn't have and she wasn't going to. The whole thing was super embarrassing and left Me feeling very upset. When the girl Behind the counter attempted to smooth things over because of her rudeness, I said no thank you and that I would not be back. She totally ruined the experience because of her terrible Customer service. Had she been kind and Said that she was sorry she couldn't use it and that she could show Me some other options etc maybe I would Have been inclined to understand. Service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I have had one piercing here before and it was a few years ago. Piercer was a smug jerk who bad mouthed other establishments and told me how didn't like my body jewelry. I thought that the piercer was just one jerk and it wouldn't stop me from coming back. Came here today and was treated like pond scum. I removed one of my plugs and asked them if they could tell me what size it was. The person behind the counter abruptly says, "oh! Her reaction was over the top to say the least. Then she says she is going to get some "paperwork" for me to fill out. I was like, "Just so you can tell me what size I am?" Her, "yeah." I then left...My husband and myself were planning on purchasing several items. But not after today! I have never felt disgusting before today. And this rude person really helped with that. I got my nipples pierced here months ago, and I've been meaning to write this review ever since. I got pierced by Mason, and the experience was both bizarre and extremely uncomfortable. I went with two of my friends who sat in the room for support, and as he was prepping me for the piercing he said "now you can tell your parents that a strange man penetrated you and all your friends did was sit and watch." The comment was followed by an uncomfortable silence. Not only was it not funny in the slightest, but the comment is actually completely inappropriate on many different levels. First of all, I have never once in my life found a joke about sexual assault amusing. Second of all, I was half naked at this point in the appointment, and any kind of sexual comment in that setting is absolutely unprofessional (to say the least). Everything positive anyone has said about Mason is true. He found his profession, I bet he could make even the most terrified of needles comfortable. The first few times that I went to Planet 3 was always as support for a friend that was getting pierced. Staff always seemed very polite and knowledgable! I went there about 6 weeks ago as a walk-in for myself to get my nipples pierced. The girl at the front desk was super sweet and chit-chatted with me while I filled out the paperwork. My wait was short- about 10 minutes or so- while the piercer, Rheannon, got the room set up. I mentioned that I was a little nervous because I had heard "horror stories" about how painful nipple piercings could be but Rheannon proved them all wrong! She talked about tattoos with me as a distraction and the piercings themselves were quick and relatively painless. I was a little sore for only a day or two after (shorter than I had expected), and following her aftercare instructions they have healed up wonderfully! I would definitely recommend Planet 3 to anyone looking for a great piercing experience in a clean shop. I will 100% be back for future piercings. read more
