I'm very unhappy. We stopped in to the Key Largo store, and tried the El Original. We all liked them. I ordered a box of 25, and received a completely different cigar, despite being told it was the same. All 4 of us tried the new ones, and agree it is a completely different smoke. They are too tightly wrapped, and they are nowhere near as smooth a smoke as the El Original. I have called and emailed to ask about a return, but do not get any reply. read more

Mistreated as a customer front he start. Manager didn't even say hello, just began ranting about his rules. Not even a hello, or "please sir, follow these rules" just straight into mean. I guess in the modern world bad business owners and bad people are given a license to be rude and disrespectful. **Amended to respond to comments: When you mistreat a customer without a word of friendliness or direction you get treated in kind. You don't know if I perhaps had a lung condition or was simply ignorant of the signs posted. There's no excuse for your childish behavior. I was stuck in the keys for work and found this spot to kill time. Owner was very nice making conversation and explaining how cigars differ.

Stopped by the other day and picked up some great cigars. The selection was phenominal and I would definitely recommend stopping by and asking for Josh (he knows his stuff). My only complaint was that the owner was not that friendly, and that kind of ruined the vibe. All in all, a great smoke shop in an amazing location! read more

I loved this shop. It has one of the best selections of cigars I have seen in Florida (I have been to every corner of FL as of this trip). They also make their own cigars and have some of the best rated cigars. They sell the cigar boxes which are great for artists and crafters. Found this place while on the way to Key West over two years ago. Stopped in and became a fan. Have ordered hundreds of cigars from them over the internet. Customer service is what really impresses me. They have called to confirm an order, or to inform that an items is not available, make an alternate recommendation, and if the price of the new item is higher, honor the price of the original item ordered. Oh, one more thing. I have so many different types of cigar lighters, some that set me back quite a bit, but in the end, the inexpensive Mega Plastic Torch lighter they sell has been the most reliable. The fuel cell is large, it is easy to purge when preparing to refill, and the flame is so easy to adjust. Don't know if other places sell the lighter, but worth stopping by there just to make that purchase. read more

I was shocked. I'm so used to cigar shops that are expensive, and don't carry a ton of selection. Island was such a pleasant surprise. Not only do they have a huge humidor, they have some fantastic bargains,and the best prices on the higher end cigars. Even the accessories are priced at close to 'internet' prices. The staff is friendly and informative, and it's a laid back and fun atmosphere. If you like cigars and are going to be near Key Largo, check this place out. I doubt there's a better cigar shop in the Keys. read more

Last night I fired up a high dollar cigar, high dollar for me, anyway. Began to unravel when I cut it. Okay. Bad cut. It happens. Couldn't establish a proper burn. Didn't draw worth a damn. Couldn't get smoke to come out of it. Went out again and again, wrapper unraveling all the while. Tonight I'm smoking an El Original, from the Island Smoke Shop. Hasn't gone out once. A ton of pleasant, tasty smoke for less than half the cost of the high dollar boy. I ordered another box yesterday. read more

Very good selection and decent prices; considering where this place is located.

I have a place in Key Largo and this is usually my first stop when I get here on the weekends. Excellent selection of cigars and accessories. I almost exclusively smoke Arturo Fuente and Island Smoke Shop does not disappoint. They usually have some of the rarer smokes for really great prices. Padron, Davidoff, and all the other heavy-hitters are also very well-represented. To top it off, the customer service is terrific. I was just picking up some cigars for souvenirs to take back home with me. The cigars were for friends and I had no idea what I was looking for. The man behind the counter was extremely helpful! He came out and after I told him what I wanted the cigars for he made excellent suggestions that were very reasonably priced. When checking out he asked if I was driving or flying and packaged them accordingly. He also included a complimentary cigar-saver and some tips about how to keep the cigars fresh if they weren't smoked all at once. I was very impressed with the service and the prices. read more

Very nice selection of quality cigars. A bit pricey but I can't compare it really to big city shops. That wouldn't be fair. Great hours. Hit it before or after you hit the beaches 7 days a week. Great place! Was on vacation from Chicago, happened to walk in during an Ashton event, sat down and was joined by some of the nicest folks. Felt more at home there then alot of places in Chicago. I was visiting from New York and was thrilled with this place. Casual and experienced smokers alike will feel at home. The salesman was very helpful and recommended a number of cigars to me out of their large collection in the walk-in humidor. I left with four and they were all excellent smokes--try their house blend, it's a fantastic smoke you can't get elsewhere. They also had a good sized smoking lounge. I'll miss this place when I leave and will certainly come back the next time! read more
