I took a half a day from work and decided to come check out island spa and sauna on a Tuesday. I made it to Island spa just before 1pm. Luckily I was able to park without any hassle. Entry into island spa on the weekday is also a little cheaper than on the weekends. I feel like going to Island spa during the weekday is the perfect time because it isn't super crowded. I was able to go in most of the saunas without the saunas being overly crowded. I also got to participate in a yoga class which was free with my entry. I remember going on a Saturday and still having a nice time but it was super crowded and not as relaxing and it was difficult to find parking because the parking lot would be so packed on Saturdays. I will definitely return, but definitely prefer going during the week day.

It was my first time going and it was a nice experience. You can pay $59 and spend the entire day there which is cool. They also offer a plethora of services, which I will try next time. The different saunas are cool and the cold room is ok. Wish it was colder and wish they had a coed pool/hot tub space. Outside of that it's a clean and nice spa. I'll definitely be trying it again.

Don't believe the positive reviews - this place has gone downhill FAST! I've been coming here for 4 years and the past 2 years: - they increased the price of admission 33%+ - increases prices for services 50% - the Jacuzzis went from nice, relaxing, and steamy to a lukewarm warm (colder than your typical faucet water!!!!! (not a one time incident - this was the case the past 3 times over a year and we called it it to management each time. - they removed the free toothbrushes and toothpaste (now $2.50) - the removed the Q-TIPS and are CHARGING $1 FOR TWO Q-TIPS!!! WTFFFFFF. (and you need these, the water gets in your ears and can cause infection!) -theycran out of the small towels so many times omggggg I feel SO SAD! This was honestly my fav spa - wish the didn't start nickle and dining like kind spa. At least the water temp at King is nice!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday because he knew I really needed to relax with how hectic my schedule and life have been lately -- and honestly, it was exactly what I needed. I loved everything about this place. The saunas were amazing, and the food was really good too. The bathhouse area does require you to be nude, and I'll admit I was shy at first, but after a few minutes, I realized no one cares -- everyone's just there to unwind. You see all types of bodies, and it actually made me feel more comfortable and confident. I did the body scrub, which left me feeling squeaky clean -- my skin was super soft and glowing after. My boyfriend also surprised me with a Swedish massage, and it was incredible. The therapist worked out all my tension, and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. We even made friends with one of the staff members who was so kind and helpful. Overall, the staff were polite, professional, and happy to answer any questions we had. I left feeling completely refreshed and relaxed. I'd definitely come back again -- next time I'd plan to go earlier in the day to stay longer and really enjoy a full day of peace and bliss away from the outside world.

Took my husband here for his birthday and we loved everything about it ! Admission fee weekdays are $55 But you can lounge around and sauna , eat and drink some delicious teas and smoothies. We had the Swedish massage and it was pretty relaxing . Us being nb parents we needed this small little getaway in our hometown . Everything is so clean and the staff are very friendly . Def coming back !

Decided to treat myself to a spa day as I'm dealing with rather stressful life events. I have come previously with friends, but today I came alone and had the best experience I've ever had. I guess a lot more people come in the winter time, than a summer Saturday afternoon. I had the 30 minute scrub, which left me feeling like a molten lobster. Every single part of my body was scrubbed. Yes, everything. My skin is unbelievably smooth. I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki , it was fairly big so I couldn't finish it. I also had fresh pressed apple juice. This spa is very clean, and I would highly recommend it.

Steam, Spa, Scrub are fabulous. Snow bingsoo is fantastic. Now, the individual sauna rooms are not as impressive as feel all the same. I usually go to King Spa because of the Sauna rooms have herbs in there as well as red light therapy. Other than the Saunas, island is decent, more intimate setting.

Came here for my birthday with friends. We had a great time. We all got the 1hour massage and body scrub package. If you are shy, do not get the body scrub. You have to be completely naked in the bath house section of the spa where the scrubs are done. The food is also good here. I had some really good shrimp fried rice. The spa was very clean and peaceful. I can see spending the day here to unwind and relax.

First, they raised the prices recently to $50 for a daily entrance fee it was $35 recently... They have many saunas& an ice room which is cold but feels like a very strong air conditioner but has a calming light and feel to it; the clay sauna, charcoal sauna, salt sauna, treasure (has some precious stones on the wall); the hottest one is 165 degrees. They also have "baths" & one is a warm gucuzzi, one a hot bath, one a shower bath, and the other I didn't get too see; the steam room was closed for cleaning while I was there and the Yoni steam is no longer operating. The thing is for any of the baths or steam rooms you have to be completely nude (separated male from female). I was very uncomfortable and felt kind of grossed out by it as there were several women in one bath... luckily there are open showers with soap , shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of towels for use. If you are free and open to that you may enjoy your time there. When you first walk in you'll notice it smells great there, looks calming, then they hand you a long shorts and big shirt (run big); and a key for the lockers. You have to take off your shoes and they do not provide slippers unless you buy a pair of cheap slippers for $4. I'll say for a hospitality company the service was not good. Then you have to go change into the uniform which wasn't particularly comfortable or uncomfortable- but I'd like to be in a more cozy outfit when relaxing. I am thinking a robe ... that should be a stable for a spa? You can spend maybe an hour or two there experiencing the saunas. They have a yoga class once a day from 2-3 I got there too late for that. I enjoyed the saunas but they were not as hot as I like. Then I tried to do the baths but really couldn't take it for more than two minutes- the shower was nice. They do not provide a comb or brush or face masks (you should bring some of your own as they sell them there. They do provide towels, lotion, Q tips, toothpaste and toothbrush. The snacks and food seem like a good time but I only got a fresh juice, Sunset Detox, (carrot apple lemon) for $10.00 which was really good and good size. There are plenty of places to lounge and relax including a sleeping room but I noticed people talking in there. I did not book a service in advance and none were available until much later and so I may have enjoyed it more with a service- but you'd be paying the entrance fee plus the service fee keep in mind. I go to a gym with a dry sauna, steam room and gucuzzi plus a pool , yoga and more for $45/month- I'd recommend going to a health club or something similar with these amenities for less money and more hospitality. Seems like plenty it so if you go bring: 1. Hair brush 2. Hair products 3. Deodorant 4. Face masks 5. Thick snug socks 6. Id try to bring slides and see if they let you slide 7. Water bottle for the fill stations 8. FYI: They have the uniform, don't bring swim wear you won't be allowed to use it, they have toothpaste and toothbrush, shampoo and conditioner lotion and Q tips. So you won't need that. Recommend bringing a face mask and book or headphones!

I love Island spa. The only service I've received is the Korean body scrub- which is amazing. The food is delicious and all areas are clean. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Love it here

Atmosphere: 5 Every time I go there, it is so relaxing. The wood tones and vibe really puts you in a traditional Korean Spa. I know it's standard to Korean spas to have the scan-able bracelet to pay for things, but it is really so convenient. I've also booked their massages a few times and the massage rooms are dimly lit and relaxing as well. VIP room is the best! Service: 5 I love that the prices already have tip included so when you finish a massage, you literally can just get up and leave (after saying thank you!). The masseuses are such experts in their work. The pressure is just right and their technique is so good. The staff around the spa are often seen cleaning the floors and counters to keep everything hygienic. Food: 5 The food from their main kitchen is so good. I love ordering their traditional Korean stews and soups. Their poke is also really good. Every time I go there with my husband, we always share a green tea shaved ice. The ice cream they use on it has so much green tea flavor. I also love their green tea flavored condense milk that they serve on the side. We swapped the red bean for more mochi too~ yum! My husband and I go there often. Good food and relaxing. The spa isn't huge but it hits all the important features. Over the years, we've seen it get more and more popular. So if you go on a weekend of major holiday, there might be a wait time to enter. Definitely try their VIP packages~ it is SUCH a treat!! The baths aren't like the kind you find in Japan, but they have jet bubbles which is nice. Communal showers and changing areas are clean. Bring a pair of socks if you don't like walking around barefoot!

Very nice facility. Service, food, and drinks all good. My 1st time as a spa. This place is perfect. Just pay the entrance and you get to go in hot both, sauna and nice lounge area. There are charging station for your phone, too. Just relaxing atmosphere. I recommend this place for someone who wants to unwind. People are so chill here. The restaurant has nice selection of food also

Island Spa & Sauna Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Island Spa & Sauna

What is the brand of the shampoo and conditioner in the showers? It's really good!

Is this a gay spa?

No this is not a gay spa. This is a place to relax and talking is not welcomed. You have to be quiet and take in the vibes.

Can you get the korean body scrubs in a private room?

They offer sugar scrub in private room with a rose pedal bath but that will set you back around $160. It is nice to get though just be prepared. Body Scrub in the wet area is way cheaper so up to you on what you want to pay.

I want to come here with my 16 year old daughter and get a massage can she get one too or is there an age limit? And also do I have to buy and admission for the both of us?

I don't think there's an age limit for the massage services. Children of 16 can be admitted into the spa with same sex guardian only. Admission pricing is not included in the purchase of spa services. I highly recommend making appointment & they'll… Read more

I know it says nude required but will anyone be ostracized for wearing a bathing suit? I wanna use the hot tub areas but would prefer being in a bathing suit

No it's a nude spa you have to be nude. That is part of the Korean culture.

Is proof of vaccination required still? What about masks?

Hello! Masks are now optional in all areas of the facility, and proof of vaccination is no longer required for entrance. All guests must still provide a government issued photo ID in order to enter. Thank you for your question!

Are couples allowed to be together?

Not in the bathhouse area only

Any plus size women been before? I want to be sure I will have a comfortable experience in the nude areas. Thanks!

Yes! Ask them for the bigger shorts (I'm big bottomed) they do have them. Everything is comfortable enough for being a bigger girl :) you could even bring your own black shorts they will let you.

If I just want to use the saunas and not the pools/hot tubs/massages do I have to go into the nude area at any point? I would really like to try the saunas but I am extremely uncomfortable to have to go nude in front of the other guests.

Hi Taylor, thank you for your question! In order to utilize the rest of the facilities outside of the bathhouse, including our dry saunas, ice sauna, juice bar, restaurant, lounge areas, sleeping room, etc. you do not need to go into the all nude… Read more

Do they allow laptops in the common area?

Hi Tanika! Great question. Yes we do allow laptops! The spa with its free wifi and lounging areas, is a great place to remotely work or study. We just ask that guests have headphones on to respect the relaxation of other guests.

Can you buy a gift card as a present?

Yes! Please contact our front desk, or visit our website to purchase a gift card!

Is there an admission to enter the facility in addition to paying for services?

Yes. See their website for more details.

Has anyone ever gone just for general admission with no spa services booked since COVID19? Is it worth it?

If you are looking for just a quiet place to relax then it's cool. The food is good, so is the juice bar. When I went there were like rooms open to nap in. I do not know if the saunas are still closed. If you're trying to just get some new scenery… Read more

Do you still have to pay the admission price if your just getting a massage?

Yes you do.

Are there vegetarian options offered for food?

Yes. There is a cafe and a bar. The cafe has sushi and Korean dishes - soups, ramen, appetizers, noodles. You can also ask to not add something to certain dishes since they make it when you order. The bar has bubble tea, coffee, shaved ice, juices,… Read more

How much for one person?

Groupon has a code Monday through Thursday for $31.......and a nightly special $28 (8:30 to 12am)....regular admission without Monday through Friday is $37. They have discounted rates for students and veterans, etc. I believe Saturday and Sunday is… Read more

Any couples specials?

What is the pricing like for couples massages, and do I have to make an appointment? Does this business accept cash or only card?

They accept cash and card.

Is this a good place for couples, will we be able to do most things together?

Yes, for the most part. The dry saunas are co-ed and so are the lounge areas and the snack/drink/food areas. You are issued a uniform (t-shirt and shorts) that you wear in those areas. Inside the respective male/female only areas, that is wear… Read more

Is there a bar?
