My friend treated me to a body wrap at Spavia. This was my first experience here and I am already considering a future membership. The facility is clean and serene. All staff that I came across was helpful and friendly. The retail area has so many nice things, I could have done some holiday shopping there if I had gone earlier in December! Although the retail area has it all, my masseuse did not try to sell me anything and my friend said they don't push products on clients, which is really appreciated. Upon entering, you are given a temporary locker to house your stuff, there are two changing rooms and you are provided a robe and a really nice sandal. The robe was a bit small on me. So I do wish they had a plus size option there, but I made it work and felt comfortable enough, someone larger than me would have been uncomfortable though and at a spa, you shouldn't have to worry about that. Once changed we went to the lounge area to wait for our service providers. The lounge area is a nice size with plenty of comfy chairs. The lights are dim and you can use a heated neck wrap while you wait. There is also a great selection of teas from the Republic of Teas which is a quality brand. They had seasonal tea options which was a nice touch. My service was provided by Diane. She did a great job of making sure I was comfortable and my body wrap was amazing from start to finish! I like that you are able to pick the scent you want for the service and it isn't an extra charge like some other spas that have loyalty programs. The products smelled amazing and I felt like 1 million bucks afterwards! The scalp massage was my favorite part. Once done you can even shower off if needed back in the locker room. I came here to get a sports massage since it's been a long time and my girlfriend recommended this spot. The location is really clean and they have really professional and friendly staff. My massage was really good. i felt relieve all over my body and felt tension released in muscles i didn't even know needed it. My only criticism is the i asked for firm pressure and for most of the massage, it felt more like medium. I did ask for no talking because i wanted to fully relax so maybe that was why i was not asked? But overall, Im happy with my massage and would return. read more

I was offered a heated neck wrap for before and during my service and it increased my relaxation tenfold. I was a customer recently and felt I needed to share my experience . I do not typically write reviews. This location came highly recommended by multiple people who were recent clients. We reserved one deep tissue and one signature massage. My massage was sub part considering I asked for firm pressure. It started firm but got significantly softer as the massage went on. I asked she focus on my back and shoulders and it received minimal extra attention. I would like to express our extreme dissatisfaction with my husbands massage. His therapist asked about what he part of his body he would like worked on and my husband specifically said his back however the therapist proceeded to spend a significant portion of the massage with my husband laying on his back. Also, it was booked and paid for as a deep tissue massage but felt nothing like that. There was minimal pressure and lots of stretching. At no point was my husband asked for input about the amount of pressure being used. And to make things worse, the therapist injured my husband and did not even offer a bandaid or apology. Nothing was said or done at any point to address any of these issues. We paid for our massage and tipped our masseuses for their time. Their skill, care and decency to at least offer an apology is severely lacking. Included is a picture of the injury the masseuse recklessly caused my husband. How he was allowed to practice with nails long enough to cause this is another disappointing oversight. We will not be able to recommend this spa to anyone. In fact I would actively steer people away. read more

It's a small spot- so not a walk around spa place but they have a small changing room, shower and the masseuse took their time to make sure that they would address all my concerns. I surprised my friend with a spa day- upon calling to make the appointments, Bianca and other front desk employees were so helpful in booking and answering any questions I had about massages or facials. A few days before our scheduled appointments I needed to cancel mine and they were super accommodating, knowing my friend was still going to get her facial I was welcome to sit in the retreat room with a neck wrap& soothing music . I was appreciative I still got to relax while waiting. My friend was lucky enough to have Jackie do her facial , she was super friendly , she assessed not only my friends skin but mine to suggest certain products to help us have the best looking skin for the winter. After a tour of the room I waited in the women's retreat which was really soothing as they have hot tea .. cold water & hot neck warmers ! My massage therapist came an got me (Jennifer) when it was my time to go in for my massage and let me get comfortable on the table before entering ! I got the basic signature 60 min massage , The massage was absolutely amazing and I was greeted with cold water right after I was done an was able to hang out in the women's retreat before leaving which I loved because after a massage like that I didn't want to rush out after being so relaxed ! To be honest, I love Spavia and have had amazing experiences with massage there. This is the first time I did a body treatment. First of all, it wasn't even a full body treatment/scrub. 30 minutes, which is what is advertised in the description of the treatment, is definitely not enough time. And it was not full body. It was arms, legs and back. I have had scrub body treatments before that are way more detailed, and priced accordingly. I have an exfoliating cloth in my shower that does more than the therapist did for me yesterday. it was messy, very cold and uncomfortable Update...a manager replied to me and said she talked to me after I wrote the review and offered me something. I never talked to anyone after my review. She even had the nerve to say that the description in their "services" accurately describes the scrub. I've been going here for 2 years. I joined the monthly membership where you are allotted one essential signature massage a month and any unused massages rollover with no expiration. It has always been a pleasant experience when I go. Every masseuse has their own style. Unfortunately some of my favorite masseuses no longer work there but that is not Spavia's fault. The experience has remained consistent where you always leave feeling more relaxed than when you arrived (as it should be). I always look forward to going when I can. Came back since my last visit was pleasant and this spa is close by. However, this time I felt super rushed and my 60 minute facial was only 40 minutes. My esthetician was 10 minutes late to get me, then I got ready in the room, and I was still out in 40 minutes from when she got me. Therefore my facial was really 30 minutes. I have visited another Spavia and did not have a positive experience the last time I was there (despite previous great ones!). Coming into this location, I was definitely skeptical. However, this was immediately dismissed by the 2 ladies who greeted me and walked me through the place and got me setup. They were friendly and so accommodating. I came for a massage with Joseph and it was amazing! He checked in periodically regarding pressure and comfort and allowed me to relax while he went to work on the knots in my back. Spavia in Clark Commons is very clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. It is new, and that's where there are pros and cons. I have visited two times and each time has been an average experience, but everyone has been very friendly overall in person. Where there is a problem is with signing up for an appointment online. I'm not sure if there is a glitch or if I am just really forgetful, but there have been two occasions where I received a call or text from the front desk to see if I'm on my way, and I was completely caught off guard because I don't remember ever signing up for an appointment. The deduction of review stars is for the front desk interaction. Instead of being understanding and providing excellent customer service by listening to my response and problem-solving, it felt like they were suggesting I was lying about not receiving a call or text message to confirm. What's worse is that they just would not back down when I repeated that I did not receive a confirmation text message or call. A better response would have been something along the lines of: "Sorry for any confusion, it shows us in the system that you signed up for this appointment. We'll get that taken off right away; while we have you on the phone, it has been about a month since your last appointment with us. Did you want to reschedule?" I am very disappointed with the interaction. TL;DR Not a bad spot to get a facial. Book over the phone versus online. read more

Room was freezing. I asked about turning the heat on and he claimed the bed was all the way up and there was nothing he can do. "I don't know why they turn the heat off". The music wasn't to HIS liking so he said "this music is too loud" so he turned it down. Which lead me to hear the hallway noise of outsiders laughing and talking. The wind or air kept wiggling the door which lead to anxiety as I laid there naked thinking someone was going to be walking in. I was placed in a large couples room because "all the rooms were taken" The pressure I had selected upon arrival on the iPad was not the pressure that I got in the room. If anything the pressure was medium to light and I ordered firm and ordered a deep tissue massage. On top of that, I'm not sure if he knew he wasn't using enough oil but it felt like I was receiving Indian burn the way he was rubbing my arms and legs. During the massage there was no communication on pressure, depth, music, warmth, nor comfortability. His nails were even scratching my back at one point. I have received multiple massages before and left feeling absolutely refreshed and restored. Now I am left tense, upset, and frustrated. My foot is aching and I don't feel any different. I am very disappointed with spending 160 dollars on a really negative experience. I waited on posting this review in hopes the manager would call me back since I was also told I would be receiving a call in regards to fixing the matter in house. I went to Spavia for the first time to enjoy a 60-minute Deep Tissue Massage with Lindsey as well as a Signature facial with Josi. I must say I was blown away. Both specialists were equally amazing! They are very experienced and quite knowledgeable in this industry! I will be coming back to see them again! The facility was spotless from the moment I stepped in, and the staff were very pleasant and answered all of my questions. This is also the first location where I've been able to personalize my experience by selecting my favorite lotion scent (Guava), music (island escapes), and pressure ( firm pressure), among other things.
