This parasail was a total blast! Captain Kevin and his assistants Christian and Gavin made this trip even better and worth every penny. We chose the longest line, 1,000 feet for the greatest altitude. This was the best choice. For only $20.00 per person the difference between the 600 foot line and the 1,000 foot line is well worth it. They also have an intermediate 800 foot line. As their website states, "Go big or go home". The view from the top is fantastic! The most noticeable aspect of being so high is the sound, or more appropriately lack thereof. Just total silence. Even the sounds from fishing boats, power boats and the Coast Guard cutter passing down the bay were inaudible. The 360 degree view was spectacular! We will go again next summer. Quick tip: Spend the $100.00 to purchase the combination photo and video package even if you bring your own cell phones. The GoPro Hero on the wrist strap they provide makes for great video memories. read more

We booked for a 3 o'clock parasail today and waited for 15 minutes. The captain/owner was super friendly and enjoyed talking with us before going on the boat. The other passengers were also friendly, and we joked about the sharks in the water. We also booked photos and Go Pro, both of which turned out super well! My first time parasailing was an amazing experience, the views of Newport could not be beat!. It was difficult finding the location but we allowed additional time as instructed in my confirmation email. . Once arrived I found the crew to be professional, friendly and reassuring that safety was a top priority. If you've never been, you sit in a swing like device and they attach you to the parasail and up you go (I chose 600 feet). I definitely suggest a photo or go-pro added to your package, at the end of your sail they provide a SD Memory Card; I'm so glad I did because now I have great memories of my experience. Great experience! Fun and friendly crew that took COVID safety precautions seriously. Such a fun thing to do with beautiful views of Narragansett Bay and Newport. I was really surprised how peaceful it was once we took off from the boat. I'm not sure the photo/video package (extra $$) would be worth it when you're already paying ~$100pp, but to each their own! This is a must-do experience! This a.m., I took my 14 & 16 year olds out to parasail with Island Style Parasail. We chose the 9 a.m. time because it was a $20 savings over regular prices. First, PJ at the booth was great; he has a good personality and is very customer-service oriented. We stopped by last night and I filled out the electronic waiver form via an iPad and paid cash for the rides. I paid a fee for me to go out on the ride, but not actually parasail. I not only wanted to see the kids trip in the air, but also wanted to take photos. (Island Time does offer a service where one of the guys will take photos with a really great camera with a zoom lens. He takes 50-60 shots from "launch" to "landing", and if one does pay the $35 for this service, it includes the memory card with the photos to take home. The other two pairs we went out with both chose this, but since I was taking pics of my own, I didn't get this option.) We were told to arrive fifteen minutes before our scheduled departure. We'd totally forgotten our sunscreen and when I inquired if they did have any for sale, found they didn't, but PJ graciously offered his own to apply. I really appreciated that because none of us got burned while out on this trip. We also bought cold bottled water for $1 each from PJ, before we left. While we waited for our departure time, I noticed the two boat crew members wiping down the boat, getting all gear ready, and checking everything was set for the trip. They had to go get fuel and there was a long line, so they ended up coming back to the dock a tad after 9, but that didn't affect our trip time length in any way, so we were fine with that. When they were ready for us to board, we were all helped on to the boat and then the crew introduced themselves as Andrew and Captain Kevin. They were both friendly and cheerful. As we traveled out to the open water, they chatted with us and Andrew gave safety and gear instructions to the group. He got everyone in life vests right away and then one-by-one, got each participant in to his/her harness. When we were out at the spot where they were going to get the parachute ready to go, the first pair was helped in to place to get hooked up. (Andrew had gone over how to properly get on to the back of the boat and slide in to place.). There are options for line length: 600', 800', or 1000'. Everyone on this trip had the 1000' line, which is the maximum. Everyone was thrilled with the view and was happy they'd had that vantage point. All three pairs, including my kids, had ample time up in the air, and all were given the option of a little "dip" in the water on their way to being reeled back in to the boat. The first pair declined, the second said yes, and as they reeled my kids in, I said yes for them. Basically, it's a quick toe-touch of the surface of the water and no one gets soaked; they ended up with only wet legs and mildly wet shorts. The whole experience was excellent, and it was great to be out on the water on a super muggy, hot day. (It was low 80s as we took off and was slated to be in the 90s with high humidity.) The gear and the boat itself was all in fantastic, clean condition. They offer good-looking long and short-sleeved logo shirts at the customer service booth. Since we live in the Midwest and we wanted to do an oceanic activity so we decided to give parasailing a shot. We definently made the right decision. My daughter, who has parasailed before, convinced me to give it a try. Island Style Parasail made the whole process easy and fun. We signed up the day before. Showed up the following day for our 10:30 time slot on the pier and signed the waivers, or as I said "signed our lives away". Our ride was a little delayed due to a parade of yachts, seriously, a parade of yachts that were there for a race weekend. The boat crew apologized even though it wasn't their fault and then we set off. We were set up with our harnesses and life preservers and sped out to the start point. My daughter and I were the first to go, we were just sitting it the right spot. We had opted for the 800 feet. I was nervous but trusted the crew. After a couple seconds of being petrified I relaxed and loved the whole experience. They ask you if you want to get dipped in the water before being brought back onboard. Say yes! It is fun. They also ask if you want them to take photos or give you a go pro for why your up in the sky. We did the photos (they give you a disk with about 50 photos on it). It is well worth the additional $30. I love the photos. I would absolutely parasail and again and absolutely do it with Island Style Parasail when back in Newport (or Hawaii). PS - I'd post photos but we look like everyone else who has posted photos. read more

Kevin, Alex and Maz were all very nice and friendly when we walked up to the booth for our reservation. Maz said he called me as we only showed up a few minutes before as it was hard to find parking. It ended up just my wife and I and another pair as a group never showed. We went out on time and Kevin and Alex, both from Hawaii, went over everything including helping us into the harnesses. The other pair went 1st and they had some props they used while taking pictures of them. When it our turn, my wife didn't want to go, even though she was the one that said "let's go parasailing" while we are in Newport. Anyway, they were very nice and accommodating and didn't take us as high as we paid for and we dipped our feet when we were coming back in, which felt good. It was very exhilarating to be floating in the air and seeing the yachts, mansions and even schools of fish.. We can now take it off our bucket list and would highly recommend this.. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect in parasailing, but Island Style's customer service was great. Over a two-week period, at least three different people assisted me and guided me to the best plan. These guys take safety very seriously, and when it was too windy on the day of my initial reservation they called early, I rescheduled, booking a three-person sail on the 1,000-foot line and was planning to go up with my two sons. There wasn't enough wind for three, so Andrew remedied the situation on the spot and broke us into two separate sails - at no additional fee. It's a great family experience, even for the queasy. I recommend doing the 1,000-foot line and buying the video package to relive the experience. We'll be back again! read more

My husband and I chose the highest length of 1,000 feet. We were almost 600 feet above the Newport Bridge. Just before we landed on the boat, we were give the choice to take a dip.
