Great shop, has everything. Forgot a hat or sandals broke? They got it, from cheap to the nicer ones. The store is full of souvenirs. The ice cream they serve is Blue Bell. All the one star reviews are because of politics, it's funny that when someone expresses different beliefs then you, you automatically bash them and try to ruin their business . Maybe do research on the place you're visiting first so you're not easily offended. read more

I wore a shirt with a collar, I have all my teeth, and I voted for Joe Biden, so I simultaneously felt like the mayor of Cedar Key and strangely unwelcome in this local souvenir shop and ice cream parlor. The children enjoyed their unenthusiastically served ice cream and there appeared to be a full-up espresso machine behind the counter. So that was promising. read more

Swing by if you are interested in cheap touristy stuff. The most expensive items in the place are the Luna ukuleles but you can get these on Amazon so don't be impressed. Magnets, mugs, stuffies and t-shirts abound in this crowded shop as well as ultra-conservative political gear and items featuring boobs. Bring your kids in only if you feel up to explaining half the stuff in this shop. The gal at the register was definitely high. I see some have gushed over the ice cream but personally I'd wonder what was in it. We plan to come back to Cedar Key but I won't be stepping foot in this place ever again. read more

They have large obnoxious font everywhere with messages. then in small print behind the cash register they have a sign for a service fee added on top of your purchase. They had about eight employees standing behind the counter not doing anything. But after getting the overprice ice cream for three I decided to ensure we never return. I guess they just blame others. O yea the single scoop was barely a scoop. They refuse to give a kid in front of us a taste sample. Said they didn't do that. Would be nice if business owners would just list their prices straight up. then if offer cash discount instead of the bait and hit add on game. That makes everyone mad. It's 2022 everyone uses digital money. Won't be returning. There is a very friendly grocery store down the road where we will be going next time. read more

My 7 year old really wanted ice cream after our boat tour so we walked up Dock Street to Island Trading Post. We put on our masks just before entering but were then met with several signs indicating they don't support mask wearing, the current President, or science along with more signs supporting our current governor and former president. We quickly assessed we would not be welcome or likely safe in this establishment. So we left without entering. We went to the coffee shop on 2nd and had frozen key lime pie on a stick which was better than any ice cream they could've served anyway, so spend your money there! I love this shop. Lot's of unusual and fun things to look at and the ice cream is outstanding. The staff was over the top friendly! If you don't like political things - stay home. If you are expecting 6 samples of their ice cream - stay home. For that matter, if you don't want to be inconvenienced while in an airport or while traveling - STAY HOME! Disappointed to see such an unpatriotic and blatantly un-American business during such distressing economic times. Additionally, the lack of consideration for the profanity on display in plain view of children makes me question people who choose to frequent this business. Regardless of political affiliation, seeing memorabilia that says F*** the current president was unsettling. This did not feel like a safe or welcoming environment. I will not return and would caution others to be careful when visiting. This is truly the first time I have ever seen something like this in person. You would think that other business owners or local officials would be concerned about how signage such as this prevents any semblance of a safe family friendly environment. read more

We needed a hat and some water, so we stopped in here, as we were on the waterfront. A woman who worked there followed us around like we were shoplifters. When we came to the checkout counter, we saw a lot of tasteless and obscene souvenirs. I was born and grew up in Florida, and I can't believe this business perpetuates the tacky and offensive tourist trade. They are an eyesore and an offense to our beautiful natural Florida Gulf and the state of Florida. It's sad and pathetic that they have to pander to some mythical rightwing view. Don't spend your money here. Do go out on the marina and enjoy the wildlife and real beauty around you, and forget about the fake reality in that store. read more

My favorite stop to make when visiting CK! I love the espresso chip ice cream. Everyone is always so friendly in this town. We went there after the seafood festival today and bought three ice creams which came out to $16.02. I had the $16 in cash and before we could go digging through our bags and wallets to find the change, they told us not to worry about it and have a nice rest of our day. They even thanked us for being patient as the line was from end to end in the store (Dock Street is quite popular, especially during the festival). They have tons of souvenirs, cold drinks and food as well. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Great little Florida style souvenir shop. The store is very expansive and also includes on the second side and ice cream and coffee shop. From magnets to wooden benches, what I like most is that they feature items from local artists at a great price. Staff is friendly and the place is orderly and clean. read more

Super disappointing! First and last time I will be in Island Trading Post. Stoped in and wanted a cone. I had two samples of the flavors I usually order and wasn't impressed so I asked for a sample of a different flavor and the gal in the picture said she could only give me two samples. And she was really rude about it! I'm not about to pay $6 for an ice cream flavor I don't like! My friend who took me there said she had been before and tried multiple samples... so we walked out! There is an ice creamm shop next door to this place. I'd go there instead. read more

Great selection and friendly service at this store if you are looking for a fun souvenir. We asked to exchange some items we bought the day before and they graciously accommodated us. Carol even gave us ideas of where to get a four mile run in on the Island as we are preparing for a half marathon at Celebration, Florida. Highly recommended. read more

Some stores on the Key were closed for summer during the time we were there. So glad this shop was open..Excellent gift store. Saw the sign for Working Cow ice cream and had to stop in. Just happened to find my favorite, captain butterscotch. The clerk was attentive and courteous. Even offered a 15% off of the tab at the restaurant next door if we presented the receipt. Typical souvenir store items available for sale. read more

Cute items but typical high-priced tourist stuff. If you need to snag a last-minute gift that doesn't look last-minute, this is your place. There are some good prices hidden in here (10$ Ts and some jewelry under 10$) so it's worth digging around after you have lunch on Dock St. read more

My niece went in there for dinner last night with her friend. When they got their food, one of them did not get her chicken tenders. When she told the lady she didn't get her tenders the server argued about it. My niece told her that she didn't pay $10 for fries. Her friend did went to eat her food but noticed a hair in it. When she mentioned it to the server she said it's just fuzz not hair. Regardless, it wasn't what she ordered. Lol... the server then wanted to fight with my nieces friend, whom is only 16. She picked up a chair and threatened her with it. When my brother in law asked for the owner to tell him of the situation he was told that the server was his wife. I wouldn't support this business that give horrible service and won't try and make things right for their guests. read more
