Great place for coffee, breakfast, or lunch. I really enjoy the avocado toast for breakfast, and the Americano is strong and wonderful. One of my pet peeves is weak coffee, but not a problem here!
With our three night stay in Cedar Key. Leslie and I enjoyed every breakfast at The Daily Grind with staff Jill and Tia. Their oatmeal, and London Fog has been enjoyed every trip we make here. You definitely feel welcomed and like you're old friends coming back to visit.
This was the perfect spot to stop for lunch and refreshments! We had the turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich, with lemonade and a raspberry iced tea- loved all of it! The owner was so welcoming and the service was great! We have to come back to try the frozen key lime pie next time! They have a HUGE coffee/drinks selection, and lots of great breakfast and lunch items as well!
Just stop here! We were greeted with an awesome smile from Mr. Ben. Coffee was delicious and the breakfast sandwich was out of this world. Fluffy eggs thick cut bacon double cheese on a buttery flaky croissant. The vibe was just right, everyone in a good mood and happy to grab a cup of coffee.

I visited this place while in town for the Cedar Key Seafood Festival in October 2022. This cute little coffee shop is no larger than your average kitchen but they have all kinds of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and coffees. My main reason for coming was for the frozen chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick. There are very few food items that when I see them I say "I have to try that," but this was one of those times. It was just as decadent as you would imagine: creamy pie inside of a thick chocolate outer coating with tangy lime flavor. It was $5 for a small slice on a stick but it was worth it for this unique food item you would be hard pressed to find in many other places.

Good selection of pastries on display to choose from. Good section of different ways of having coffee. I'm easy. Medium coffee black. There was even a sign that said if you take your coffee black, you're probably a psychopath. If you do the double espresso latte, soy milk, sugar, you are probably the victim of black coffee drinking psychopath. Candyce had the ice tea. We split a cream cheese muffin which was excellent. Nice sized and very moist. Guy behind the counter was helpful. Loved the assorted signs around the place. Good place to get your coffee pastry fix.
We walked to this coffee shop one morning from our B&B. We ordered Cafe Con Leche with brown sugar, not on the menu but they madde it for us. We also had chocolate muffin not made in house and a blueberry scone made in house. We ate outside on the side walk. The coffee was good but a bit expensive for the size. The muffin was very good but the scone seemed not to be cooked all the way and a bit doughy. Overall a cute coffee shop and would come by again when in town.
The quant Cafe is a must visit when you are visiting cedar key. There is so much charm here with the furniture, chalk board menus, and displays. Enjoyed an everything bagel with cream cheese and a BELT sandwich. Great chew from the bagel, perfect amount of cream cheese. Breakfast sandwich was just as good with the layers of flavor and textures. We also had an amazing pumpkin spice iced coffee tasting we enjoyed there and to go while we checked out the local community garden.
Scrumptious! A word that I rarely use. We had the two egg fold over sandwich -mine with bacon and my husband's with feta and spinach. It comes on your choice of five breads (sorry no gluten free). I'm not sure how they do it, but the sandwich was so good I moaned. The best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Every ingredient was prepared perfectly from light eggs, perfectly cooked bacon and the secret ingredient-the bread was toasted but soft. We also tried the lemon cranberry scone which was so flavorful and moist. I got a coffee (good, but I'm not a coffee lover myself). My husband got one of their many flavored lemonades-pomegranate. It was tart and sweet, oh so good. Tiny interior with six tables. Quaint. Nice family that runs it. Don't leave without trying this place.
Cedar Key is quite small, so there are very limited options for breakfast (maybe 2 or 3?) but 1842 Daily Grind & Mercantile jumps out. It's on the corner right when you drive into town, across from Tony's, so it's hard to miss. There are places to sit outside, as well as inside dining seats. Orders are placed at the counter and are brought to your table. The menu is fairly small but is variable (breakfast sandwiches, crepes, pancakes, etc.). I had the ham, egg, and cheese croissant and it was fantastic. I also split the blueberry pancakes with my girlfriend and they were good with beautiful presentation. The staff was kind and made sure we enjoyed our time. If you're in Cedar Key looking for breakfast, this would be my suggested spot!
What a wonderful little gem. This cafe deserves a medal. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We brought our dog and sat outside. After our food came one of the staff members brought the dog a slice of bacon and a bowl of water. We didn't have to ask for it. The food was beyond this world. And their coffee was fresh full of flavor. Their frappes were better than Starbucks. This is also a great place to get a cute mug as a souvenir.
Adorable with nice service but the food leaves a lot to be desired. It's ok but I had higher expectations. I had an everything bagel with salmon, onion, lettuce and tomato. Honestly I felt like I was eating a Lender's bagel with not much on it. My daughter had an everything bagel with cream cheese, she agreed and thought that even though simple it should have been better. Presentation was very nice and the service was good. We both had coffee, I had a dark roast, she a latte. This too was just ok. Truthfully I did expect more for the price we paid, I expected more period. Walking in I loved the place, it's darn cute and I think it's amazing that they sell "Quincy Cattle Beef" in the freezer that's in the front of the store. The decor is inviting but sadly our food and yes even simple was lacking but it was a relaxed atmosphere. Utterly perfect. The location, right on a corner, with tables outside. The interior was cozy and utilized every inch wonderfully to allow some cute Cedar Key mugs and such. Which we just had to buy for our grown up kids. The owner, super friendly and efficient. The vegetarian, gluten free quiche was the best quiche of any kind I have ever had. The accompanying salad was extra yummy with fresh berries and feta cheese. The macadamia nut latte was delicious. read more

The chocolate covered key lime pie is what brought us here, but this iced latte would make me come back. This coffee shop is adorable, delicious, and leans on the sustainable side. My straw was paper, my boyfriend received a noodle straw. Super cool. Both worked very well and did not hinder the taste of our drinks. I love that a place in such a small town shows they care about the environment. We both loved our drinks. The pie was delicious. WiFi was free (have to ask for the password). They sold mugs, coffee beans, spices and sauces, and other knickknacks. We really liked this place and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a coffee while strolling along the shops in Cedar Key. read more

This is one of the cutest places I've ever been to! So many things to look at inside and they even have a Victrola playing old music! Love it!!! The food was excellent, I had the biscuits and gravy which was soooo good, and my husband had an everything bagel with cream cheese. The drinks were excellent, too. I had the pumpkin chai latte hot with almond milk, and my husband had the handmade pina colada flavored Italian cream soda. I've never had a handmade Italian cream soda before so I took a sip and it was so delicious!!! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Well done, and very welcoming with the HRC sticker outside, too! Loved every bit of my experience here! read more
This is a cute counter service cafe. Seating inside is limited, but Cedar Key isn't very populated or busy. Tea, coffee, sandwiches and breakfast food is available. Plating is super cute. Prices are average. The food was pretty good. The cafe is decked out in sassy signs like a lot of these places seem to be. read more

This amazing coffee / breakfast / lunch cafe is so very good!! The tree hugger quiche is the best I have ever had, the salad that came with it was delicious, tons of fresh fruit and creamy feta cheese. The staff was friendly and very attentive. Blackberry / Lavender latte was so yummy! Will definitely be back. A must stop for everyone passing by pretty Cedar Key! read more

corner coffee shop right in town on 2nd street and 24. coffee, tea, bagels and cream cheese, quiche, and breakfast sandwiches. very small inside but the croissant egg bacon sandwich was large and very good. the avocado toast was yummy, had the everything seasoning on it, the eggs might have been just a little to firm but had that nice crispy edges. They have limited hours; open maybe 0730-0800 and close in the early afternoon. read more
This is exactly the mom n pop type of cafe I expected in cedar key. It happens to be adjacent to one of my other favorite spot (Bonnish Studios). Old school music playing in an actual record player. The cedar key roast was very smooth and fulfilling. I consumed it rather quickly and actually went back for a refill. The following day we tried the breakfast sandwiches which were also very generous in portion and tasty. I personally think the coffee taste much better than your typical mainstream coffee shops. Not to call them out or anything. Just like everyone else in cedar key, the staff was very kind and open to converse. They were particularly happy to be reopened in context of the covid pandemic. I highly recommend the coffee and breakfast sandwiches here and will return in the future. read more

We loved the town's very quaint coffee and breakfast hangout! The service was terrific, the coffee was pretty good for coffee snobs like us, and the comfort food was lovely. The best part was simply the smells in the air, the historical feel, and the fabulous people. read more
