Latte at Prickly Palm, Cedar Key
    Bruce K.

I put off having my first coffee until I arrived in Cedar Key so that I could enjoy it here at Prickly Palm. They're currently serving out of a food truck trailer but on a warm spring morning, it was lovely to sit under the covered "patio" and sip at my latte while I planned my exploration of the area. Fabulous coffee, friendly service and quick. The breakfast sandies look terrific - but not for me on my low carb diet. There's street parking nearby. Enjoy! This place was delicious and adorable! Unfortunately, their brick and mortar building took a big hit during hurricane Helene and they are in the process of rebuilding. Please support the local businesses if you are in the area. Everyone was so friendly and the food and coffee was delicious! Service was made to order and they got busy right after we walked up so it took maybe 10 mins to get our food but it was so beautiful outside and several tables were open that we didn't mind. The honey cinnamon oat latte was delicious!

This is a cute little establishment that was very close to the house we stayed at on second street. It was fairly busy on a Sunday morning but the wait for two smoothies wasn't too bad. We got the Cedar Key Sunrise (orange juice, strawberries, banana, pineapple, mango) and the Rosey Spoonbill (strawberries, coconut, pineapple, banana, coconut milk, white chocolate) smoothies. The smoothies were good, but they did not really wow us. They both tasted like something we could've made it home. Service was very pleasant and the shop was cute. It was a nice place to stop by in Cedar Key.

This is the tiniest cutest girliest island coffee & tea shop on the planet. The place to go when you are on Cedar Key. I want to secretly run away from home & buy this business just so I can hang out here every day, for the rest of my days. Love you, "Isla de pina" forever mine. See you again soon. xoxo

I am OBSESSED. Saw this place on tiktok when we were planning a trip to cedar key and this was one of the first places we went after getting to town!!!! The food and coffee were so amazing. Cannot WAIT to come back and try more things!!!

The absolute cutest coffee shop! Coming to Cedar Key I was little afraid of not being able to find a good coffee shop just because the island is so small. Well, I didn't need to worry at all, the Prickly Palm was all I could have asked for! I went almost every morning we were there. Everything from their matcha, to their lattes, to their pastries, to their breakfast sandwiches were delicious! I highly recommend this super cute spot!

Yelp has never done us dirty, but some of the places that have been recommended in FL have been a BIG disappointment, and for the life of me, I can't understand how they've gotten such great reviews for mediocre food. Enter, The Prickly Palm! Yelp said it was closed this morning when it was actually open, and we happened to drive through town before having breakfast and saw that it was indeed open, so we grabbed a bite to eat. The ambiance is sooooo cute. Instagram worthy for those of you who care. The two employees were warm and friendly, and the food was the best breakfast we've had in this entire state so far! Their açaí bowl was a generous portion and tasted so fresh--the best one my husband and I have ever had--even over ones we've had in Hawaii and Costa Rica. The coffee was also outstanding. My husband is very particular when it comes to his coffee and brought 3 bags on our road trip from the PNW. He's almost out and bought a bag from here to tide him over for our trip back. We hope to find ourselves in Cedar Key again in the future and will definitely make another stop here when we do return.

This place is so cute & has the best gift shop! The women that work here are so kind knowledge and helpful at assisting you with drink choices! It's our first stop in Cedar Key each time we visit! Smoothies are delicious!

Delicious açaí bowls, smoothies, coffee. It's busy in the morning so may need to be patient but worth the wait!!

The Prickly Palm is a very aesthetic cute coffee, smoothie, Açaí bowl, and boutique shop. I absolutely love it in there, not to mention the coffee is amazing! My favorite coffee drink is the Carmel Apple Macchiato and the chocolate muffins are very addictive :) This business is loved by the locals and I highly recommend a stop by if your visiting Cedar key!

Cute spot in Cedar Key! I recommend trying the Cedar Key açaí bowl. The people were lovely and they had nice gifts to shop too.

Sometimes the naturals go over the top but this one hits the spot - its got the fruit but its also mellow. Perfect for sitting down and just enjoying a cup in peace. Food also excellent. My go tos were the oatmeal (no cream) and the croissant sandwich which was recommended to me by a very nice lady who works for delta in Tampa and comes to Cedar Key 3 times per year and was excited when she heard this was where I was going.

We were told after waiting almost 30 minutes for them that the reason was that they make everything from scratch-I'm no expert but I know a Sam's croissant when I see one and whoever is so unbelievably out of touch with flavors would put a garlicky chicken salad with sliced strawberries?? Literally wtf. Don't get me started.. and then they mocked us when we asked where our order was and basically threw the Togo box at us. Classy. DONT WASTE YOUR VALUABLE VACATION TIME. I had a very disappointing experience at Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters and won't be returning…read more We ordered coffee and scones first. Unfortunately, the coffee was bitter and unpleasant, and the scone was incredibly dry and almost completely flavorless. That alone was disappointing. The bigger issue was the customer service. When I walked back into the building, it was 11:29 all I wanted was to order one of the pre-made breakfast bagels, it had just turned 11:30. Even though the bagel was already made and sitting there, I was told they wouldn't serve me because breakfast had ended. There was absolutely no flexibility, despite the fact that I had been at the counter just moments before. As I was leaving, frustrated, I said, "Thanks for nothing." Another employee asked what was wrong, so I explained the situation. She then said she could give me the bagel after all, but immediately followed it by saying there was "no need for the comment." By that point, the damage had already been done. Instead of acknowledging why I was upset or apologizing for the situation, I was made to feel like I was the problem. Between the poor-quality coffee, the dry and flavorless scone, and the rigid, unfriendly customer service, this was one of the worst coffee shop experiences I've had. There are plenty of places that value both good food and good customer service. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere
