I was…read moreblown away by the picture opportunities that they have out and the condition of the pumpkins. great choices and none had soft spots. we do our thing and go in to pay. little family run place with Dan in the market working on things. his son in law was at the till. had a wonderful chat with him. he told me every morning someone is out checking the pumpkins and refilling, pulling the pumpkins that have soft spots. someone rebuilds the displays where you pick pumpkins and take pictures. I cannot believe I did not know about this place. we will definitely be back!!

They also have zucchini, peppers and the rest of it. It's clean. On hot days. They have a nice cool fan blowing on the fruit so it doesn't get mushy. They also have jams and pies and various things according to the season. The people are lovely as well. I drive all the way down from North Saanich to get my fruit there.

They aren't walking distance from the gardens, but they are just a few minutes drive away. When I visited in July, they had fresh loganberries (new to me - delicious), tayberries (new to me - delicious), raspberries, blackberries and strawberries. I was in berry heaven!

The price sticker indicates the cut, price, farm where the meat originated/distance from the shop, and the animal's diet. The guy who helped me was super nice and patient with my browsing. He answered my questions and grabbed the pieces I asked for instead of the biggest ones. I've cooked up half of what I bought and the meat is excellent. The shop is spacious and comfortable and has pantry items, freezer and dairy on the perimeter walls so if you need to wait it's not unpleasant to do so.

For vegetables, we preferred fresh and organic, and after some research found Sun Trio Farm. We drove to the farm. The small store is self-service, and takes cash, check, or VISA. We chose fresh zucchini and salad greens, along with tomato sauce canned on the farm. Excellent meal with wine! The tomato sauce was very nice, lightly seasoned with basil and some other natural ingredients.

It's a cute little restaurant/bakery/store before catching the ferry to or from Vancouver. The smashed baked potatoes are crispy and nicely seasoned. They had gf bread to accompany my eggs and bacon. At the bakery we purchased a couple gf cookies and a couple of regular ones. The lemon gf cookie was delicious ~ soft and lemony.

Their breakfast sandwich is fresh and delicious and they also have a tons of island food goods. They are known for their coffee and they also sells the coffee beans there. They do have sitting both inside and outdoor and if you have a dog, you could sit with your dog in their patio. They also have a small goat farm there that you can go see. The goats are cute and nice. We will definitely come back when visiting the island again.
