I've never done a review on Yelp before as it takes a great company for me to have to open an account and do a review :) I first heard about Isle Media when I was a bridesmaid at one of best friends' wedding last year. At the time, I was already engaged but hadn't started on the planning yet. When I first met the team, I was very impressed with how to work seamlessly together (the video team and the photography team). When it came time for me to research on photo/video for my wedding this year, I already had Isle Media on my list to contact. What makes Isle Media stands out than other vendors is that they are a one-stop shop. They do photo, video, makeup, DJ, planners, and more. It's basically up to you whether you want multiple packages from them or not. I found that very convenient and painless as I'm already dealing with other wedding stress so for a company that basically covers all wedding vendors, it's a plus for sure. My husband (then fiancé), are actually from Cali so searching for vendors online and calling around can be really stressful. In the end, we ended up booking Isle Media for their photo, video, and makeup. Lester is the lead photographer and the person my friend recommended to contact. When I first spoke with him, he was very courteous and listened to my wishes on how I want the wedding to be captured. Photo and video were one of our priorities for our wedding as those last a lifetime so we didn't want to sacrifice having to book an amateur for our wedding just to save money. However, we also didn't want to blow majority of our money to just photo/video. When I was talking to Lester about my budget, he completely understood where I was coming from and gave me a quote that I could work with. Honestly, out of all of the vendors I called and spoke to, Isle Media's was the most budget friendly for both photo, video, as well as having a same-day-edit. Lester was there to answer any questions as well as recommend any vendors they previously worked with before. Although we haven't met in person yet, he was very responsive to all of my emails and/or texts. When we got to Hawaii a week before the wedding, I met with Lester to finalize on any last minute wedding details. I am so glad that Isle Media helped me with my wedding day timeline since I had no idea what to do. On the day of the wedding, Lester and the rest of the team came around 1pm and just started working away. I really liked the fact that the video and photo team are working together because they aren't stepping on each other's toes. They were also very discreet if needed as at times, I forget that they're even around. They were great in letting us know how to pose and what to do. Although it rained on the day of the wedding, they were game to do an outdoor shot and I was literally blown away by the preview pics that Lester shared afterwards. Oh and I can't forget to say kudos to Zairrah and her beauty team for making me and my bridesmaids look flawlessly gorgeous on the day of the wedding! I basically showed Zairrah how I wanted my hair and makeup as well as the bridesmaids and she just worked her magic. Amazing work Isle Media Beauty team! All in all, I had a great experience with this company and would highly recommend them. They are very professional. They will definitely work with you in terms of budget, help you plan the wedding throughout by recommending other vendors, and will give you an amazing final product that you can't help but just stare at the pictures and watch the videos over and over again (It's exactly what I'm doing :P). My wife and I got married back in December and reflecting our experience with Isle Media I feel they deserve a public review from us. My wife had a list of "must haves" when it came to her... I mean OUR wedding. lol... One of them that topped the list was having cinematography. We had met up with several cinematography companies prior to finding Isle Media and never found the one that would work for us. After hours of searching the internet I came across Isle Media. I set up a meeting with them and got a response almost immediately. We met up and before we talked about fine details, Alan told us all about how he got into the business and was completely honest and up front about how long they were doing cinematography for and some of his embarrassing stories. His honesty when talking about his "learning experiences", had me sold.Lots of other places came off as "we are the best and other cinematographers suck" kind of mentality. He shared with us videos that they have done and we were impressed with what we were looking at. A couple companies had told us that WE couldn't pick the music to our video and that the "surprise factor" when going with them. We have sentimental attachments to certain songs and they didn't get that. Alan left it completely up to us and we felt like they were going to be there to capture our day, how we want, to what music we want, and not be "SURPRISED" with a song that we don't like. We did our engagement shoot and Alan was very open to new ideas. He didn't suggest a place and time where it was convenient; he left it completely up to us and never made us feel like our idea was a bad idea. He never rushed to finish our video; he was totally laid back and went with the flow. He kept in touch with us on those months leading up to the wedding and always made sure that he answered any of our questions or concerns. On the day of the wedding, we couldn't ask for anything more from them. They were there on time, dressed professionally, and ready to rock! Throughout the ceremony and reception I can't recall ever seeing them... It was almost like they just blended in with our guests and were not a distraction at all. We had specific things request that we wanted in our Same Day Edit and to our surprise, they managed to make it work. We were so happy with the final outcome that we watch it all the time! As the wedding goes on, the bride and groom tend to forget small parts of the wedding because there is so much going on. Alan and his crew were able to capture those small moments for us and we are grateful to be able to watch it all over again. AND a little note to the future couple that may decide to go with ISLE MEDIA... In the end, it is the bride and groom that makes the video special. Alan and his crew can't edit emotion into our vows, they can't add life to your wedding if you are not able to open up let it all go. They are there so you can hear and watch your vows over and over again. If at the end and you are unhappy with what your watching, the way you looked, how your voice sounded... it's all you... Tell Isle Media what you want them to capture and communitcate with Alan so he knows whats important to you. You have only one time to get it right... Good luck And for Isle Media... Do yourselves a favor and book this incredible team of professionals!!! A++++++ My wedding was a destination wedding, from our home town of Miami, Florida to Honolulu, HI. I actually did not have a wedding planner, so you better believe I researched every company out there to make sure I got the best and that is exactly what I got, and more! Videographer - Alan: Alan, is truly a gifted individual. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to work with him. From day one, he answered all my questions and continuously worked with my wedding budget. He not only provided thorough information about his team and their services, but he even was happy to assist with any outside questions I had. I randomly ran across their videos on youtube, and once I saw their same-day-edit videos, I got hooked, and kept watching and wathcing and got more excited as I did. From the reviews and research I did about Isle Media, I knew that they were going to deliver an incredible performance, and I was not disappointed. Our same-day-edit video was magical, truly, it left everyone in tears, and our family members keep telling us how they love to look at it day after day!! Photographer- Reese: Reese was a total sweetheart. Despite only having 50 guests at my wedding, the way my family runs, it felt like 200. Both Reese and Alan were patient and open to shooting different pictures and accomodating everyone's needs. I just got some of my preview pictures of our wedding, and my jaw dropped to the floor! The pictures are stunning!! Not only did he capture the most beautiful moments of our day, but the quality of the pictures are breathtaking! If the previews are this great, well, I can't wait to see the rest of them!!! DJ/MC/Uplighting- DJ "Kevo" Kevin: Kevin is just awesome!!! This was an area of the wedding that I was little nervous about, being that we are a multi-cultural couple, with Greek, Albanian, and Panamanian running through our veins. But have no worries here, Kevin can handle anything!! Everyone, and I mean everyone, was dancing and enjoying themselves thanks to Kevin. Additionally, Kevin set up the lighting in the room which really helped bring out the beautiful colors of our wedding. With his help, our reception was a success and all our guests had a great time. It is not easy to mix so many different cultures and genres of songs together, but Kevin was a smooth as butter when it came to keeping the flow going!! Amazing!! Beuty-Zairrah: Every bride wants to feel beautiful on her wedding day, and Zairrah helped me do just that. She used an air-brush to give me good coverage without feeling caky, and even applied some false lashes to make my eyes pop. She captured exactly the look I wanted and I felt like a princess. My bridesmaids looked stunning as well, and everyone was commenting on how beautiful everyone looked. Besides her natural talent, Zarraih was truly a professional. They say there is no wedding without some drama, and well, when you stick 9 ladies in one room, drama is what you get. Zairrah and her team hadled the situation very professionaly and curteously and left me the bride, at ease. IsleMedia is beyond words incredible! Throughout the course of our wedding planning, not only did we gain a partnership but friendship as well. They are like family to us and we are so honored to have had them as part of our wedding!! I don't think it's fair that Alan removes all of the negative reviews from his website. If you go to filtered reviews, you will see that he has eliminated them all. He also bribes people not to post negative reviews. My review: ne of the most important lessons I learned from my 18 month wedding planning process is "you get for what you pay for." I found Isle Media about two months after they got started. Alan seemed very nice and responsive, the company had a good portfolio, and priced 50% less than the more popular videographers at the time. My fiance and I wanted to support businesses starting in the industry and decided to book them. Fast forward 11 months to the week before our wedding. Part of our package included a slideshow, to be made by Isle Media. I scanned the photos and sent them to Alan. I got an email two days before the wedding saying that I needed to edit the photos myself and arrange them in order. He could not do it because they had a wedding that day. According to Alan, he could stay up all night to complete the slideshow but that would effect his performance the next day at our wedding.I did not want that to happen so I spent the day before my wedding figuring out our wedding slide show. On the day of our wedding, Alan brought two interns. He did not ask our permission to bring additional staff. The two interns were not professionally dressed and did not act like professional wedding vendors. They were sitting in the living room of the suite and got in the way of the photographers. In our contract we signed we were to get our video in 4 weeks. When I brought this up to Alan he said it now takes 3 months and he could not honor our original contract. Thankfully, after several emails and phone calls we were able to settle to 2 months. I was willing to put up with all of this if the final product was good. Regrettably, the video on a scale of 1 - 10 (one being amateur video shot by friends to 10 being Hollywood quality) I would rank it a 2. The video was missing: our ring exchange, everyone including the bride walking down the aisle, and the funniest moment of the ceremony when the flower girl refused to walk on the rose petals on the aisle. Also a lot of the shots had people's heads in it. He shot our first dance against the giant spot light so you really couldn't see our faces at all. We also paid for an extra hour so he could capture more of the dancing. It was ~2 mins of the total video, so I'm glad I paid that extra $400 for 2 extra mins of dancing video. The final product looked like I asked my friend to stand in the corner and record our wedding with her iPhone. We paid for a professional to avoid these problems!! I would say the best and only promising thing about Isle Media is Reese the photographer. he did an AMAZING job with our engagement photos and I could not sing his phrases enough. I would not recommend the video services to other brides. I would recommend either to pay up for a better, more experienced company or go without a video. A mistake I made was only viewing the 2 minute previews from Isle Media. Ask for the samples of the final, full video. read more

Awesome, incredible and marvelous (I'm a huge Iron Man and Marvel fan so this is important to say!) are just a few words to describe the stellar job that Alan and the team at Isle Media provided us for our engagement shoot, wedding photos, videography / same day edit and post-wedding shoot throughout 2019. Photos - While the art of truly capturing the moment can be a tricky task, Alan, Lester and the rest of the photo team at Isle Media do it in spades. They have great vision for shots, using the natural backdrop like the canvas of a fine painting, and are totally open to the asks of the clients, pivoting on the drop of a dime to accommodate the ideas we had. They truly strive for perfection and treat each client like family. Same Day Edit - Among the compliments we received from our guests about the wedding reception, the most were about the quality of the same day edit. It's truly amazing what can be cut up and put together with such a tight deadline! Alan is a master at catching the essence of each moment and reinterpreting it in beautiful cinematic form. Watching the final product during our reception was a surreal experience and the quality was truly beyond anything we could have expected! Videography - Detailed and tastefully captured, it's a comprehensive documentation of the days events from start to finish. What I value most is the coverage during the ceremony itself, when everything was happening so fast. Being able to see that exact moment when I got to kiss my wife for the first time is truly priceless. All the heartfelt moments that we hold oh so close are captured for us to relive any time we desire! Being a long time friend of my wife, Alan wanted to make the wedding reception extra special and spearheaded a plan to surprise me with a dance that my wife and her close friends had choreographed. Alan and team planned, coordinated and executed the performance, including a special video presentation, that blew me away. They had already gone the extra mile for everything they did for us that day, words cannot even begin to describe my gratitude for his thoughtfulness and desire to "wow"! No matter the occasion (Wedding, Birthday, Retirement, Corporate Event, etc...), Isle Media will capture the occasion, giving you a memento frozen in time to cherish for the rest of your lives. The service and quality of the product are impeccable! There's no one else I'd recommend over Isle Media, they're truly the best! DO NOT HIRE! Zero refunds, zero flexibility, zero remorse even during COVID-19! I hope the experience of my fiancée and myself can be of help to you. We hired Isle Media to be our videographer during our dream Hawaii wedding that was scheduled for April 2020. We paid the deposit as soon as humanly possible and gave Isle the flexibility to exercise their creative muscle in putting together a highlight reel for us. Three months out from the wedding, Isle offered a bonus of an additional hour of coverage if we paid the balance in full. Not anticipating COVID-19 and its impact, we went ahead and paid it. It was a huge mistake.  Our venue in Hawaii, as a result of the governor's shelter-in-place order, literally closed the doors for the months of April and May, possibly continuing into June 2020. Our wedding was involuntarily cancelled and we had no say in it. So as one would assume, you should get your money back, or at least some of it. We had already paid $2,000. 00 to Isle.  We got nothing back. We worked through our wedding planner, who had a relationship with Isle, and she wasn't able to get them to budge. We contacted Isle directly and spoke with Alan on the phone. He said he was "not a bad person," and then gave a story that he had already spent our $2,000. 00 on his two daughters' school tuition and that he had not even $1. 00 he could refund us. He stated that all the money we paid was non-refundable per his contract.  The contract platform he uses is off the Sprout Studio management suite specifically for photographers and videographers. It is wholly managed and controlled by Isle. This means that the contract you sign on July 1st can be altered and changed by July 30th, at Alan's discretion.  My fiancée and I were heart-broken that we cannot have our dream wedding in Hawaii. But we were more upset with Isle Media for offering not a single dollar in a refund during this most impactful pandemic/world event that any of us will experience in our entire lives. Hawaii has, and continues to be, under the strictest quarantine orders. Travelers who come onto the island are arrested and jailed if they step outside their hotel rooms. Nobody is having weddings on that island. Even if we did not hire Alan and Isle Media, they would not have been able to work on that day in April 2020.  They are THIEVES and stole $2,000. 00 from us. Do not use his services. He will spend all your money before even providing a service. Or at least he will claim he did. He didn't lift a finger and kept our money without shame. Deciding to get married in Hawaii was a very easy decision. Coming from Scotland, we wanted to get married somewhere warm, somewhere with adventure and somewhere far away from home with only our closest friends and family. We had to make a lot of decisions from the other side of the world which proved difficult on many occasions. The only easy decision was using Isle Media to capture our day. We were originally looking at photographers and videographers on Big Island (the island where we choose to get married) however none of them had the spark we were looking for. We then stumbled across videos of Isle Medias work on Vimeo. From that moment we knew we had found the perfect people to capture our special day. We faced numerous issues throughout our planning process however Isle Media were the one stable factor - they were responsive, professional, listened to our requests and sounded like they loved their jobs. In order to help us feel comfortable (as neither of us had been in front of the camera before - let alone together), when we arrived in Hawaii we met the team that would be with us on our day. The team was amazing and consisted of Kyle, Reese, Alan, Lester and Zairrah. Reese and Lester did the photography, Kyle and Alan did the videography and Zairrah did my makeup. She listened to what I wanted and never got annoyed or tired of me asking to try different looks - for that she is a star! We had fun throughout the entire process and the highlight wedding video is absolutely amazing. It captured exactly what we wanted - fun and laughter. We are waiting to receive our official photos and I am certain they will be just as good as the video (the only thing ruining them will be me smiling too much!!). We also did a trash the dress session with the team the day after the wedding day. I had seen photos of a place I wanted the photo-shoot to take place but neither myself nor my husband could find it. We told Reese about the place and told him that we had tried looking for it but could not find what we were looking for. On the morning of the wedding day they went to find the place and I was delighted when he told us that they managed to find it. We have seen a preview picture of this shoot and it is incredible. I have no hesitation in recommending Isle Media for any work that would involve capturing a special day. Even our wedding party commented on how attentive and nice they all were. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! LOVED THE VIDEO! EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!! Ryan and I got married on October 15, 2012 on the North Shore of Oahu, at Loulu Palms Estate. I used my wedding planner, Kristina, from Loulu, who was amazing to help me pick a videographer. She sent me several companies to choose from. I seriously watched close to a 100 hours of wedding videos before choosing Isle Media. I chose them based on price and quality. Their price is much more reasonable then other companies and their quality exceeded others I previewed. After working with them, i know we made the right choice!. We hired them for 10 hours. Starting at noon, pre-wedding until the reception ended. Alan and Glen were awesome! Fun, personable, and professional!! I thought it might be strange having 2 guys with cameras following us for 10 hours.. but it wasn't at all. They did a perfect job of blending in.. without us evening noticing them. But they did an amazing job of capturing every perfect moment!! They had asked specific things we might want filmed.. and they got it.. just as I had envisioned!!! My guests commented later on how much work they seemed to be doing. They were running circles all around the dance floor... making sure to get the perfect shots! I think they were just as tired as us at the end of the night. :) We were able to choose music for the video. We only picked one song for the highlight. We asked them to pick the rest, based on how they felt about us, the wedding, and our family. We I saw the video highlight.. I couldn't believe it!! It was absolutely stunning!! It was perfect!! I've had so many compliments from family, co-workers, and even the band at our home reception. Then the full video arrived... what a wonderful surprise. I expected it to be 20 minutes.. maybe 30 at the most. It was 2 DVDs... almost 1.5 hours. The film quality is unbelievable! They captured so many perfect moments...so many things I didn't even realize were happening on such a busy day! This is definitely the best money were spent for the wedding! When my husband and I were doing our research on photographers for our wedding from home (Seattle) miles away from Oahu, we had a really tough time trying to figure out which vendors to work with. We have reached out to other photographers, unfortunately we didn't get the responses we wanted or some haven't answered to any of our emails or calls. We did more research and found Isle Media! We browsed through their website and their Vimeo profile. We were so touched with their work. We really were only interested in photography but when I started watching some wedding highlights I immediately felt so touched and wanted a highlight video for my wedding too and of course I called to inquire about video as well! When I called Isle Media they responded to me so quickly and we booked! I was sure that a company like Isle Media would be fully booked months out because their work is so amazing so I didn't take too much time to think about booking them. I was absolutely sure that I wanted to work with Isle Media! Let's not forget, we also needed a hair and make up artist and of course Isle Media also has that!!! I was working with Zairrah and she does such great work! I gave her just a couple of pictures for an idea of how I wanted my hair to look like and she gave me what I wanted and more! If I had to attend an event on Oahu again I will want to call her :)! She is also very friendly!!! On our wedding day, Reese, Travis, Kyle, Brendan, and Zairrah were all so amazing! They all did an absolutely outstanding job! We felt like we've known them for years prior to our wedding! We felt comfortable with them and they gave us more than we expected! We were extremely pleased with our experience with Isle Media. From the outset, they presented a clear, concise menu of options available to us (truly a one-stop shop). The planning process for our big day was top-notch, with regular communication from Alan Sangpan and his team. We were confident that all details were covered, and it was a relief to have one less thing to worry about as the day approached. On our wedding day itself, the Isle Media staff couldn't have been better. Zairrah and her makeup team did a fantastic job with my wife and the bridesmaids. They went above and beyond by even including our mothers at the last minute. Our photography and videography team of Lester, Brendan and Rafael were absolutely phenomenal to work with - we hit it off from the get-go, and they were excellent at making us feel at ease while they captured a plethora of fantastic photos and videos. We went to Oahu for our destination wedding in July 2013 and hired Islemedia for our photography and videography. It was the best decision that we made as Alan and his team far exceeded our expectations. They were professional, knowledgeable and extremely personable. Ours was an Indian wedding and we had a number of traditional ceremonies leading up to the wedding day. Alan, Reese, Lester and the Islemedia crew were with us throughout and they became honorary members of our family. They were present all the time but never intrusive. The team was very attentive and they captured even the most subtle cultural details of our celebrations. We appreciated their creative vision and the ideas they had for us. As well, any ideas we put forward were embraced wholeheartedly. These guys are up for anything!! To say they went the extra mile for us is an understatement. Our location shoots were absolutely stunning and so much fun. The team knows the geography of the island extremely well and they took us to places we would have never found ourselves. We did our due diligence and did lots of research on all the major photographers and videographers in Hawaii and decided Islemedia was the best choice and we couldn't be more right. Planning a wedding on my own is by far the hardest thing that I have come across in my life as of today, but Alan and his Isle Media crew made the task less daunting. From start to finish, their professional and opened-mindedness made working with them a pleasure. Isle Media made it a "one stop shop" for my videography and photography, a no hassle way in finding ALL that I needed in just ONE company! Thank-you Isle Media!! My husband and I got married on April 23, 2013 in Honolulu and we are very thankful we hired Isle Media for our photography and videography. We decided to hire them after a recommendation from our wedding planner. From the beginning, the process of the down payment to the outline of the service agreement was clear and easy. What drew us to them is the fact that Isle Media offers a range of services under one roof, who wouldn't love that?! BEWARE of this company. I NEVER received my video footage for my party. 5 months later he sends me an email that his videographer quit and took my video footage. I would think that I deserve a phone call instead of email. However, after locating this videographer, he conferred that he did not take the video footage. Alan said he would mail my original pictures and slide show back to me it's been almost 1 year and I haven't received neither. My slide show was shown at the party. However he left out half my pictures I gave him, and part of the heads on the pictures were cut off. I left multiple emails and text messages for months now, Alan never returned any of them. What he has done is irreplaceable and very heart breaking. I trusted him with my special event. He has taken something from me that I can NEVER get back. It's sad that a human being can place such hurt and grief to another. I WOULDN'T recommend this company if you want to be sure that your special event will be remembered. read more

We hired Isle Media through word of mouth from a friend of mines to do videography and photography. I was quite happy with their services. They were very good at getting back to me when I had any questions and they sent a great team that worked hard on our wedding day to make sure we were comfortable and made sure we had a good time. Any wedding day is hectic and full of surprises, they made sure to take care of us and adjust to our chaotic schedule. Same day edit video came out awesome, we have guest who came to us talking about how pleased they were with the product. Videography is what my friend told me Isle Media is known for, and they definitely put out a great product. I can't wait to receive the end product from them so we can send it off to my relatives on the mainland who were unable to attend the wedding. I once again cannot stress how good Isle Media is. We got married in September 2011... i know.... long time for me to right a review but i came across the old wedding planner folder and i finally took this time to share my experience. My wife and I looked for some options on the island and after several calls and checking many sites we came across Isle Media. We live in LA and have a very crazy family as we are from Argentina and most of our friends were flying in from different parts of the world. The team was great since our first meeting. They got along with the Latin vibe and we have a blast taking our shoots right on the beach. They stayed a little longer than expected and the results on the edited video were great. My friends are still talking about this and it has been almost 2 years. Thank you for your time and effort. I would recommend them to anyone that is in Hawaii or other places. I am erasing my glowing review and replacing it with a more realistic one. Idle Media gives no slack to the contract. They insisted on charging for me for uplighting even though it rained. I asked what they would use the uplighting for many months before the wedding and got no response. When I asked for a refund I was told "Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for any "acts of God." The money out towards uplighting was used to reserve the equipment, therefore preventing us to use it for another event. I'm so sorry about that, I appreciate your understanding." I got the wedding photos almost exactly 4 months after the wedding (which is the very longest it is estimated to take). I got the wedding video 4 and a half months after the wedding. And it is about 5 and a half months after the wedding and still no sign of my photo album. I highly doubt I would ever use their services again. read more
