The new doctors…read moredemand unnecessary and dangerous rabies vaccination in old, unwell pets before they will accept a pet for visits and refuse to take titers, which would detect lasting immunity in most animals. DO HUMANS GET VACCINATED EVERY YEAR OR TWO FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIVES FOR THE SAME DISEASES??? NO It would create autoimmune disease. They actually said that a technician almost lost a finger to a bite and that was the reason for the new requirement. This is nonsense! I'm a physician, trust me, if they had a rabies concern, their technicians can be pre-vaccinated. It is recommended that they do do. This is about $$$$. This is unethical and medically dangerous to the animals. YOU CAN DO BETTER. Protect your pet. Below They will tell you it's law. Read it for yourself. It is not law. Titers are acceptable and many dogs and cats are exempt from vaccination such as unwell animals like mine who is at the end of her life. Refusing pain meds (doggy Motrin) for crippling arthritis is actually a violation of medical ethics for vets. This was a cruel refusal to refill a medication and abandonment of an animal that was part of their practice. They had been refilling this medication for years. Read the law.

I have never had an experience with either doctor or staff that was less than completely warm, caring, and considerate. They've welcomed our new family members and helped us when it was time to say goodbye to old family members. They have bathed and boarded our pets. They greet us by name and remember everything without having to check notes for reminders. We're so lucky to have found them and can't say enough good things about them. Best veterinary practice ever.

Here's something to consider. When Oreo was euthanized I took him here and requested a private cremation, paw clay print and fur, all included in the price. Jeter passed away at home so it was a private cremation only. I ordered the paw clay print too. The new thing was I had to call Final Gift (https://www.finalgift.com/) the following morning and tell them that I wanted his fur. When I called Final Gift told me it would cost $25 to get me some fur. Seriously? The amount you give for $25? Had I know this prior I would have cut all the hair I wanted for free. They get you through their grief. I gave this feedback to both Final Gift and the hospital, it's only right that people know this before hand so they can make the decision. So cut your pet's hair before you bring him in to the animal hospital if you don't want to pay this.

From the very beginning, about five years ago, I was impressed by the caring, loving way that my boy and I were treated. No matter how many times I brought him there, everything was explained gently and thoroughly. Munchkin was 16 years old. I could see severe changes in him. He lost interest in walking the neighborhood, he lost weight, stopped eating and drinking. I knew that his time had come. The procedure was humane and compassionate and although my heart was shattered, I knew that I was doing what was best for my boy. Dr. Tarasoff was wonderful. She said all the right things and made it as easy as possible for me. Yesterday, I received a handwritten card from Dr. Tarasoff and her staff. Enclosed was a clipping of Munchkin's hair and a paw print. It was so kind and thoughtful and I will treasure it always. I highly recommend the Animal Hospital of White Plains. I have never experienced such compassion. Thank you, Dr. Tarasoff and all of your associates.

Like any vet - they specialize in different things. Is the front desk and communication disorganized? Yes. Are they very kind and well intentioned? Also yes. Do I come all the way here for every cat? No. I currently have 3 different places on rotation for various reasons. Come here when traditional approaches aren't working Come here when you want an honest, empathetic real talk conversation Personally, I came for the cryosurgery because not only does my cat have a tumor in her nose (and already received targeted radiation from ASC), she also has skin cancer lesions EVERYWHERE. This procedure WORKED!! If you've been down this road, you'll know what I've spent. It's bought years of good quality of life. For everyone complaining about price, look at the location. Rent ain't cheap up there.

Dr. Jenna, now owns Smith Ridge, was super attentive to my Sadie who went for ozone therapy. She spent 3 days there. The front desk staff is kinda stuffy and minimally social but I really went for my dogs care. This was about 5 years ago when Dr. Jenna first took over. I read she lost her empathy which really breaks my heart. We are looking to move back north and I surely hope if we see Dr. Jenna again, this isn't the case.
