Our regular vet treated her for "colitis" but admitted that she did not know what else to do and referred us to a 24h clinic for further diagnosis and IV treatment Pearl was discharged from the clinic the next day with prescriptions for six different drugs, while her symptoms kept worsening. After one week of force-food and medications down her throat we decided to put her to sleep in the comfort of our home, which Dr.Krier offered to do. However, before proceeding with the euthanasia, Dr. Krier asked us the permission to examine the dog and to review her medical record. She took it upon herself to talk to the Emergency clinic doctor and discovered that although the clinic tested Pearl negative for Lyme disease, they had not tested her for Anaplasmosis, which is another, very similar, tick borne decease that affects older dogs. Dr Keil took another blood sample and called us the next day that her hunch was correct and the test was positive. Dr. Krier immediately gave Pearl a prescription for antibiotics and immediately showed a good response to the medication. Two weeks later our dog is eating , barking, licking our face and acting normal and out son has renamed Dr, Krier as "Dr. Miracle". She not only quickly and correctly diagnosed the dog 's symptoms, when other vets did not, but also treated us with compassion and provided incredible service. She has followed Pearl's recovery at every strep around the clock by phone and email even on Sunday! I never met such a caring , knowledgeable vet and I am so thankful that she gave our dog another breath of life ! Sadly, the same week that she saved our dog, she had to put her own to sleep but never let her sadness impact caring for other patients. I would recommend Dr. Krier to anybody looking for a compassionate, incredibly perceptive and experienced veterinarian who intuitively understands both animals and owners and can ressurect a dog on his death bed !

(We tried a new vet local to us since moving, but decided to go back to the one we trusted, an hour away). Both vets prescribed prednisone drops among trying other things. Our regular vet suggested it was time for a specialist. I'd called several places and no one had an available appointment for months. Some had an office visit charge of $400+ and insisted on doing bloodwork although he already had recent bloodwork done. Finally I called Newtown and got him an appt for the same week, and it was under $300 for the exam. The opthamologist we saw that day is no longer there, but our experience was a positive one. I found out his eye issue was a herpes infection that was not resolving due to the prednisone. Something completely missed by the regular vets. She also recommended entropion surgery for his eyelid that was turned in (later discovering his eyelash had fused to his eye). Fast forward to last week... I brought him back to the vet because of changes in the appearance of his eye. He had a "corneal sequestrum" which is dead scar tissue from trauma. We were monitoring it to make sure it didnt become an issue. Back to the opthomologist in Newtown - this time we saw Dr Crabtree. The cost of the visit was only $202, billed as a followup from last year. I feared surgery, but she told me his eye was attempting to heal itself by pushing out the dead tissue, which was a good thing. Surgery would be $4000, but she is confident he wont need it. She prescribed antibiotics drops but didnt make me buy them there, since I had some at home already. The plan is to recheck him in a few weeks, and remove any loose tissue at that time. Such a relief to hear good news. My worry woth specialists is that they want to do expensive procedures and testing, but this was not the case here. Contrary to another review I read, my cat was treated with care by all staff we encountered.

Business Owner Apr 9, 2026 Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Rodney. We are pleased to hear that you have confidence in our doctors, but we understand your frustration with the communication issues you've encountered. Your feedback is important, and we are committed to improving our service. Please call (203) 270-8387 and ask to speak to our hospital manager so we can address your concerns directly. We appreciate your patience and hope to provide a better experience in the future." So I called the next day and was on hold to 7 minutes before being to that you were in a meeting and could not speak with me. They could not have known that in less than 7 minutes? This is exactly the sort of service that is so poor and beneath the level of medical care. Let's see if I get a call back as promised?

I called ahead to ask about female hamsters, and they said they couldn't guarantee the gender--which was fine. While talking to the employee about my past experience with wet tail at Petco, she reassured me that all their hamsters were healthy and that there was no chance of any issues. But right as she said that, she went to show me another hamster... and it was dead. She tried to cover it with bedding and quietly put the tank back like nothing happened, but I had already seen and was honestly a little visibly shaken, so she put it aside. She kept showing me the rest like it was normal. I ended up taking one home anyway--her name's Beyoncé and I love her, but it honestly felt more like a rescue than a normal adoption... There weren't many care supply options, and when I mentioned I was waiting for some Niteangel supplies in the mail and needed some stuff to hold her over for the next couple nights, they told me the products in store were so bad I'd be better off without them... which told me enough I don't blame the young girls working, they seemed sweet enough and a pet store isn't ideal for any animal. But definitely would describe the vibe and the whole experience as... strange.

The Place is clean and it's not hard to get in for an appointment. My biggest issue is the turnover of doctors. Once I find a vet they never stay. I like to know my veterinarian and remain with the same person. I recently have been to a young doctor who I really liked and now I don't remember her name and I would have liked to follow her wherever she went. One I left because there was a big change in staff and not for the better, the other , the corporate office decided to close my location after 10 months. At that point it didn't matter since my dog had crossed the rainbow bridge. A new four legged furry entered the picture so I now needed a new vet. I came to Greenwich Veterinary Center on a recommendation. Since I had no history for my new partner in crime, I took advantage of their introductory offer for a "free" first appointment, sort of lets meet. The front staff was welcoming. The wait was reasonable. The tech came in brought us into an exam room we informed her we needed to get a baseline on health and vaccinations Karina asked the all important probing questions. Then the vet came in and she took time to perform the 120 point new vehicle check. Once she was done with the initial check up she went over a game plan. As it turned out my dog was mostly caught up with all his vaccinations. My big concern was flea, tick, and heartworm since I did not have any preventive meds and needed to get. At no point did I feel pressured to do anything additional everything was clearly explained. My only issue which mirrors other comments is the costs. Final thought, the facility was very clean and well lit, always a good sign!

Then Dr. Whittington came in and was wonderful taking a lot of time with our pup and explained things to us in great detail. If she's there I think, I said I think, we will be there too. She really is tremendous. The vet assistant was very sweet as well, she comforted and kissed my scared pup while he was getting examined. Yes we were very hesitant to go after reading the reviews but our dog needed a checkup. He also got a yearly exam and 3 vaccines. And I got their flea and tick medicine and heart worm medicine. It was a total of $700 which seemed steep to me but we did to have quite a few needs. So I don't know if it's expensive or not. The front desk needs a better disposition without question. I'm shocked that there are so many reviews about it yet it seems like nothing is done. Odd. I do think they could to sink a little money into the decor. It is old and tired and could use updating. But then again that's not why we're there. We'll go back again bc we are there for the vet, not the front desk people or the tired interior.

I was told to bring my pet in for X-rays and prep for a minor procedure and that they would call me when the dog was ready to be picked up, estimating mid afternoon. I was instructed not to feed my dog for 12 hours prior to the procedure, which was fine, but difficult for an 85 pound dog. I was called to pick him up just before closing, and then found out that they had not done the procedure until less than an hour prior to closing. He was unable to walk, or see straight, and very frightened and shaking. His pupils were still extremely dilated and he peed on himself! He had gone all those hours locked in a cage for nothing, had not eaten for over 24 hours or given water, and was not medically fit to leave. I had to ask someone to help me carry him to the car and he cried for hours because he was still partially under the influence of the anesthesia. On top of that, there was a billing error, and despite bringing in all my receipts, it took them almost two months to correct, without a single apology. I would never recommend them.
