Over my career we lived in 11 states and moved 13 or 14 times. Finally retired, we built a new home…read morein Conroe, TX. After our previous home sold faster than expected, we had to move into a short term rental until the build was completed. As it was only a 2 hour move, all of our furniture and possessions were put in Pods, and stored until the final move. As our closing date approached, I did quite a bit of research, and came upon John and his team at Knick Knack Movers. All of my questions were answered quickly, and the communication was great! On the move day, they were scheduled to have 3 people to empty our 2 large Pods. They arrived 10 minutes early, which never happens, and they had a 4th person to assist. One for which we were not charged. They were quick, careful, and every single person worked hard. It became apparent that they would finish prior to the 3 hour minimum. I mentioned to John, who came himself to supervise, that there was 1 item going to my daughters home 20 minutes away, and I had several items we had stored at her home that we needed to move as well. We hadn't contracted them for a truck, or the 2nd location, but John quickly figured out a price to add the extra to our move. The price was great, and they saved me renting a truck or trailer and doing it myself next weekend. As I said at the beginning... 11 states and 13 or 14 moves. This is our last. In all of those moves, this was by far the least eventful... WHICH IS AWESOME! In a move you want stress free and nothing unexpected to pop up. John and his team at Knick Knack Movers are top notch and I will recommend them to absolutely anyone who needs movers. Great prices and an amazingly professional crew. Why even talk to anyone else!

He took on way more than he can chew, and was given an abundant amount of info regarding my move, packing & unpacking, several consecutive days in a row. I found them on Thumbtack by entering packing & unpacking "movers." They (3 very tiny men, 2 teenagers & 1 at least 60) came with a large Uhaul & I knew immediately it was not good. Moving from a 3700 sqft home, fully furnished to almost half the size took 15 hours! Thumbtack profile said $79/hr. I am very thorough, this was a big move & had to logistically & strategically plan every detail. I sent SEVERAL pics & discussed them all because he said he would then be able to give me a good estimate, which he never did, so the night before the "move" I texted him stating how we hadn't discussed pricing because originally the "move" was going have to take place over 2 days. I told him I was able to get the entire kitchen packed, linen closest, bedroom clothes in drawers, sent more pics & he said he could do it in one day. He gave me packing supplies estimate! At then end, he tried to charge me $2,700 for 15 hours & said "moving" is separate, which by the way, they didn't unpack 1 thing. They unloaded the truck, left so much stuff on my old home, which I sold & told him the new owners were moving in the very next day. He said, moving is separate from packing & unpacking, but we spoke verbally & via text & never once mentioned any of that & asked me twice if I needed them to put my tempurpedic bed & 2 other back together, since when don't you put back together what you broke down & moved? I told him about my bed from my initial contact request on Thumbtack. I couldn't take it, spent 45 minutes arguing about the price & how he came up with that amount & I can barely put my car in the garage because of all the stuff he lied & said was miscellaneous at the old house & didn't feel the need to go back. Thankfully I had cleaners there, inconvenienced because it took them 8 hours to pack & still not get it all & I had 50 bins, bags, etc packed up already, called me & said I heard him talking & I want to send you some pics of what he said is left. When I got them I was livid! I even gave him furniture that I was taking to Goodwill & he said he would like it. My Family putting things in their car, making 2 & 3 trips, still, they took 15 hours. Yes, it rained some, so that was a factor, but this little boy then called me a liar saying he told me an estimate & said my bed was was over 300 lbs..broken down & I didn't tell him, but again, told him & showed him what I had out the gate. Only beds put together, that's it & unloaded boxes all over the place & garage with trash brought from old house to new house that he just didn't check to see what was coming or not. I had a company at new house waiting hours for them to bring the tv's to hang, it was embarrassing & I had to pay for that & Jairo had the nerve to call him a handyman because he was able to also hang ceiling fans too & they still hadn't arrived & took 2 hours to unload the tx's because they were at the very back of packed items. I told them several times can we just get the tv's off? I was so upset. I told him I am having back surgery this month & can't do too much, now I have more than ever to do. Be specific & say, along with packing & unpacking, you need to move things, break down my beds & put them back together & I must have clear estimate beforehand. He gave me an estimate for packing supplies, wrapping, a few boxes because again, I had my own bins already packed & blankets to cover some items. I am 53, move hundreds of millions of dollars a week as a Closer in commercial real estate & very thorough and NOT a liar. This was the worst move of my life & I only paid him $79/hr & supplies & truck fee, which he never once told me what that cost was in the bg8nning & just threw it out there when I said I was absolutely not paying him $2,700. DO NOT HIRE this company. They don't have they don't have the manpower, nor the expertise for a big move..if you have a small apartment, maybe so, but not if you value your time & belongings. My brother came the next day to organize the complete mess they dumped in my garage at new home & found out they didn't complete the set up of my tempurpedic. A split king & he set up one side & not the other. Took an hour to find the cords in a clothes hamper with lamps & power straps. They were pretty much useless. I still can't locate remote controls for 3 televisions they took down. A complete disaster & I wish this App would allow 0 stars.

Needed to reschedule a few days before and that was no problem. On the day of the move, the movers were on time, polite and helpful. Although it was raining, they accomplished the move quickly and safely and as promised. They were willing to wait if necessary until the rain stopped, but for our few items it was not a problem. Would definitely go with them again.

This company was not transparent with their rates. Additional guys showed up without my knowledge,…read morean additional moving truck showed up, again without my consent, & without even my knowledge until I noticed 2 trucks arrive at my new house. There was no estimate offered or maximum charge for the move, as (I discovered later) they're required to provide. There was no communication surrounding the moving supplies, their cost, no itemized list of supplies provided, only an arbitrary "supplies - $350" written on the invoice, nor even provided after the fact upon request. One of the company's partners, Scott, was unwilling to provide answers to my billing questions, it was difficult to complete a sentence without him interrupting me & making legal threats. The movers also destroyed my $5k mattress. When brought to Scott's attention, he blamed me for not inquiring about, nor purchasing, additional insurance coverage. The information, he claimed, was provided to me - it was not. There's a line to initial on the contract, to acknowledge receipt (which is blank), & that I was expected to flip through & read everything on the clipboard. I was expected to rummage through someone else's clipboard without any reference of its existence. Regarding the destroyed mattress, they offered me $150 for it. When it became clear that communicating with Scott would be unproductive, I requested to speak with someone else from the company but it remained unacknowledged until Scott suddenly ended the call. I've unfortunately had to consult with legal counsel to determine how to best further pursue it. This matter currently remains unresolved.
