So after years of storing worthless stuff I finally cleaned out my storage unit (left unlocked). I cleaned it out first of Nov and procrastinated about calling and closing the account. So five weeks later i finally called to stop paying for an empty unit. But they had already closed the account. They said, "each month we conduct a monthly inspection of units and if they are empty and unlock, we stop billing you" I was completely surprise, thought for sure they would have continued to charge me until i called and closed the account.

After three weeks of trying to make a claim with CCP Claims the company they use for these sorts of issues I have gotten nowhere, my first call way on 10/07/2024 I was told someone would call me within 3-5 business days with a claim number and an adjuster would be handling, my second call to expedite the claim after no phone call was on 10/17/2024 and again no call, my third call was today 10/20/2024 with the same response someone will be getting back to me in 3-5 business days... I will not be holding my breath waiting for a call. Our unit was in the middle of the first floor on the left side, I noticed the damage on 9/27/2024 when a company I hired to move us out of the unit did not want to load the truck due to the amount of mildew om our belongings, I brought this to the managers attention and was told the bay doors have been malfunctioning and people have been abusing the doors to come in and out of the building do not have any dehumidifiers, oh and they do not have these issues on the second and third floors. At this time there is only no air handler running at all, there are supposed to be four. I would expect this if I had rented an outdoor unit, but I didn't because I wanted to avoid this situation. I have had to throw out several items and am still trying to wash EVERYTHING we own, including all of the items in my kitchen glass etc. I have been offered nothing but the company they go thru and that does absolutely no good!! This company is falsely advertising their units. I would NEVER EVER RENT FROM THEM AGAIN!! I highly suggest you do not either unless you want a similar situation and the rates to go up every month.

The prices are competitive for the area, and the lowest I found in Gulf Breeze. The lot is smaller than some I've seen, but it just means there is a lot less traffic. On more than one occasion while I have been at my unit, I have seen a sheriff's deputy roll by so the business is very secure. If I ever have the need for a storage unit again, Bill will be my first call.

I was very worried when I opened it up in FL, but to my amazement, nothing had moved. I mean not even an inch. It was obvious the container never went out of level. My experience was that they provided really great service, very easy to deal with, and I would totally use them again.

Promised delivery on a Wednesday. Waited all day, called 1800 packrat and was promised it would be…read moredelivered... might be late evening. Never showed up, no phone call. Called 1800 packrat next day and finally got them to contact local office... feedback was manager was out on deliveries and didn't know why it was not delivered and would check later that day. No commitment on when (or if) if would be delivered on Thurs. Spoke with supervisor.... he told me "if it were me I'd cancel the order". Told him OK and to stick the packrat container where the sun don't shine. (He called me back and said I left the call with things unresolved... so I clarified what my comment meant in more graphic terms). So after wasting a day (and a half of my time) I had to call PODS with earliest delivery of Saturday. PODs is a little more expensive but I've used them before. They call with a 3 hour delivery window the night before scheduled delivery and do what they commit to. I'd pass on PackRat unless you want to waste a couple of days of frustration.

I rented a small…read morestorage ( closet space) for my child's things for a 3 month period over the summer for all of my child's dorm items, clothes bedding etc. I spoke with a woman named Sandy to make these arrangements. I asked her about mold, she told me they had not had issues as long as the items were packed in plastic and damp rid was placed in the unit. We arrived at the storage unit yesterday 8/26/2017 to find a hole in the ceiling, insolation coming through the hole laying on the stored items and most of the items despite being covered in plastic space bags and garbage bags covered in black mold. We had 2 sets of plastic drawers that had 2 inches of water in the bottom of both. We also had several damp rids in the unit, one was completely dry the other over flowing with water. The floor towards the back of the unit was soaking wet. I went into the office to speak with Sandy and yes I was upset, I was not yelling but asking about insurance for the ruined items, she kept saying why didn't you come tell me about this. I told her I am telling her right now as we live in Miami, she had a small child there and she tried to shut me down telling me that the office was her home and that her grandson was present, I reminded her that this office was also a business and if she had an issue she should remove the child to the tv room behind us so we could talk business. It became obvious to me quickly that I was waisting my time. So I left put my child's things in the back of our Tahoe and drove 10 minutes to the college. And spent the next 6 hours YES 6 hours cleaning items we could save and laundering the things we could save. Despite the items only being in the truck 10 minutes it left a mold smell we couldn't remove. We have a 10 hour drive back to Miami, within the first 30 minutes my sinuses are burning and itchy, my nose is starting to run. BAD BAD BUSINESS DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT. UNCARING, UNPROFESSIONAL
