The unthinkable happened during a terrible rainstorm and her basement flooded! All our belongings were in jeopardy. Fortunately, emergency plumbing stopped the flooding (sump pump failed) and a restoration company came the next day to stabilize the situation. All our wet boxes of belongings were emptied, dried out and reboxed. Our furniture was put up on pallets and when dried out, was wrapped in plastic to prevent a future flooding disaster. In the interim, my mother-in-law's health really declined. We knew then that our living arrangement with her was drawing to a close and we would be moving out soon. Rather than having the restoration company put all our belongings back in the basement once it is restored, we decided to take everything and put it in off site storage. This is where Storage Sense comes in! Beth, Utica location Manager, answered my request for a quote promptly via Yelp. The concern she had for our situation overwhelmed me. She made the perfect selection of a storage unit for our needs and gave us an affordable solution to our dilemma! I met with her under a very stressful time for me (mother-in-law back in the hospital) and at the end of her working day. She took the time to show and explain how storage units work, set me up with an account and relieved that immediate stress in my life. Thank goodness Leah was still there a few minutes after hours to help me out.
