I used Two Men and a Truck for my move from one condo to another. Being a single woman moving, I can say that the quick quote response via email made scheduling and estimating costs, from Paige and Courtney in the Fraser office, so simple and accurate. I've never moved on my own and the ladies were extremely patient and helpful. I wasn't sure of the exact day of my move and they were amazing at working with me to look at options and sent me detailed estimates for both a weekend move and a weekday move. My two movers showed up right on time, Dave and Zach. They were AWESOME. I was nervous knowing that complete strangers would be handling all of my personal belongings, but they were so friendly and answered all of my "first time moving" questions. They started the official start move time AFTER they looked at everything and planned how they would take it all down to the moving truck. I was moving from a second floor condo to another second floor condo; that was no problem for Dave and Zach. They took great care taking apart all of my bedroom furniture and wrapped everything to ensure nothing would be damaged. They managed to lower all of my patio furniture from my second floor balcony with ease. Some of the single lights and things that were too big for a box but too small to list as move items for the estimate, they took as well. These were items I was planning on coming back for and moving myself. Because they took EVERYTHING in the moving truck, I had very little to put in my Jeep. They even made sure to take great care of the signed Zetterberg jersey, packing it last. :) When they got to the new second floor condo, they were great at asking me where everything was to go. They did not randomly place things or just start stacking boxes everywhere. They even took the time to put felt pads on my big furniture items to protect the new wood flooring I had installed! I would give Dave and Zach 10 stars if I could. They never stopped, took zero breaks, and made the most out of every minute, keeping my cost down significantly. As soon as they were done unloading the last item in the moving truck, they announced the time so that we could note it and not pay for any time that wasn't directly involving moving. I paid for two movers who worked so productively and I would hire them again in a heartbeat. I do not know these two young men, nor do I have any affiliation with this company at all. I would suggest and highly recommend the Fraser Two Men and a Truck company, especially Dave and Zach, for anyone who is looking for a moving company. I rarely take time to write out reviews, but this move wouldn't have been manageable without the service of Two Men and a Truck and I want everyone to know how awesome my experience with them was. read more

They moved some delicate pieces of furniture for me from one house to another within Shelby Twp, some of them quite large and heavy. No damage, wall dings or any other problems. They wrapped the furniture in blankets and shrink wrapped before moving out of the house and into other house, being careful as they moved the furniture in and out of the houses. This entire company is great. From Dan, who wrote up my moving order to Garrett and Brad, who came to move me. I have used this crew three times in the last two months. The 1st time was because I had two storage areas that I needed to move out because they were painting the units. I decided to bring one home and move the other to a different storage facility. They made both of these moves as stress free for me as possible. The 2nd move to a different facility became a nightmare. I went from a 10 x 10 to what I was told was a 10 x 10. When the guys and I got there, it looked a little smaller to all of us. So they measured it for me and it turned out to be an 8 x 10. I went to the office to try to resolve this problem but was only offered a 10 x 15 for more money instead. So I went back to the guys and told them this was it. They worked very hard to get all of my boxes in like a puzzle. I did have to take a few things home in my car but at least they fit all of the rest in. Thank God for them. The 3rd time I had to use them was two weeks ago for a disaster. I had just been told that the sewer pipe under my house was broken and they had to jackhammer my basement to replace it. They also told me I had to move everything in my basement that was in the path of this pipe, which of course ran the entire length of my basement and sideways. Until I did, they couldn't do the work and I had no kitchen sink, no dishwasher and no washing machine. As I am a senior citizen,it was impossible for me to do this, so I had to call them again for the third time .I was more than stressed. I was practically panicked. Dan was very kind and courteous again trying to get this emergency booked for me. He said he'd have to call me back. And he did within 15 minutes, telling me that Brad and Garrett would be there the next day. What a relief that was !!! They came and moved everything for me against the walls and out of the middle of the basement. They kept me laughing and kept telling me they could do this. And again, like puzzle pieces, they managed to fit all of it in and away from the route of the digging. Great job done by all three of them. Obviously, I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and again. read more

I have used Two Men and a Truck out of Fraser twice now. The office staff is great, and really works with you to get a deal. The first move, I wanted my bed to go to another location than my other items, and they offered to do it at no extra charge. The second time I moved I was almost outside of their "local" range, but they worked it so I would still be in range and not have the freight charges, which can be very expensive and are required by state law for moves 40 miles or more (I was 39.9). The movers were great too! They were very polite and courteous. All of my items were neatly shrink wrapped, they were very careful, and they worked very quickly. I was surprised how fast everything got done! If ever I move again, I plan on using them. read more

Late December early January 2010 my Dad and I were trying to find someone to help us move. We were both moving to the same place in California so we thought we could coordinate the move together. Two months prior we had secured the services of Allied Van Lines through Morse Movers. Two weeks before the move we decided to cancel the contract with Morse to save some money (BAD IDEA!! Mistake #1). We secured the services of a freight company to move our belongings. We then decided to hire 2 Men and a Truck to help us load the trailer (Mistake #2 and 3 and 4 and 5etc.) Keep in mind, I'm sure there are 2 Men and a Truck franchises that are not run this way, but this was our experience. We had one of their quoting "experts" (Paul) out to look at what was left to pack and load. We were told it would take their "professional" movers 1-2 hrs. to pack the boxes and 3-4 hours to load the trailer. Which, if you can do the math, is a min. of 4 hrs. and a max. of 6. I'll start with the timing issue. My Dad is more patient than I and didn't have time to baby sit the "professionals" while working. By hour # 5 I realized they weren't going to be finished anywhere near the quoted time. I called the office to register my concern. At $90/hr. + $90 for the long 4 minute drive from Fraser to Sterling Heights we expected them to take the work more seriously. I've never seen two men move slower. I affectionately named them "the malt liquor twins" since they showed up smelling of alcohol to help move our lives across country. It was almost like they never moved before. My Dad has moved more than 15 times so he knows how to load a truck efficiently. He's just getting a little older so we figured this time we'd splurge for some help. Other than being painfully slow, they also didn't seem to know how to load the trailer properly. Instead of neatly organized stacks of furniture and boxes, it was like your children throwing their toys in a toy box. 40-50% of the boxes were damaged, along with the contents, by the time they got to California; completely smashed or just left open. That, however, was not the most concerning part. The way the management tried to pretend like it was our fault was the worst part. Not to mention the fact that my Dad and I had to finish the job and he was leaving the following morning so we didn't have time to redo what had been done. From the owner (Lisa) to one of the managers (Mike) nothing but accusatory remarks to trying to deceive us by saying they didn't really mean 3-4 hours of load time for everything. The owner was the worst. When I initially called, as previously mentioned, to explain the situation I was willing to negotiate. But Lisa the owner wanted nothing to do with the situation stating "Well, I wasn't there so I can't really do anything, so you owe us the full amount." I am pretty sure she has made this statement before. For an owner to not take responsibility for her employees is a rather weird way to conduct business. Also, for Paul to quote the job and be off by almost double, when he knew who he was sending to do the job is either dishonest or ignorant. Very disappointing from start to finish! When all is said and done, the damage done to my Dad's belongings due to the dangerous manner in which the items were stacked and loaded, and the misquoted job time could have been, to a great extent, forgiven had there been a willingness to work with us. But, as previously mentioned, Lisa (THE OWNER) was the most difficult person in the company to deal with. Moral: Stick with the real professionals. My wife and I called Morse that night and had them re-schedule our move. Worth every last penny. It was actually only a few hundred dollars more than the do-it-yourself companies to have them do it, after all was said and done. This is my second time using 2 men and a truck - first time with the Fraser location. I had no issues at all the first time I used 2 men and a truck (from Livonia), but my experience was drastically different at the Fraser location. First, the movers were not in a hurry to move my things. They took their time loading the van, and then also when travelling (they were going a good 5-10 mph under the speed limit). ALSO, my bed frame was damaged in the move (which was on 7/11/2014), and I have YET TO GET IT FIXED, like they said they would. It's been a month and a half now. Customer service is horrible. Bottom line: If you are moving and plan to use 2 men and a truck, I advise to NOT use the Fraser franchise. read more

Unlike the previous review I had a wonderful experience with two men and a truck. I just bought my first home and my friend was moving with me. TD and CS were our movers and they were excellent. They had a total of three stops, my room mate lives in Clarkston, I lived in Royal Oak, and the final location was in Warren. They quoted us a time of 5-6 hours (of move time, no tracel)and they finished in 4.25 hours (plus travel). They were not only careful with our things, they were polite, and even helped set things up once we got to our location. They were absolutely wonderful, I would recommend these two professionals to anyone I knew looking to move! read more

I have used Two Men and a Truck before and it was always a good experience. This time, it was terrible. I only had to move my mother from a bedroom and closet to a studio apartment on the lower floor, but it was the WORST move I ever made. The 2 guys who came in on time, packed everything any way they pleased, DID NOT CARE about what was in what box and where it was put. Dumped the boxes and furniture down on the 1st floor any way even after being asked to move things to a certain spot. They also left everything under the bathroom sink (it was not cleaners or anything hazardous), which I had to move myself. I will never call the Fraser company again. Kathy F. read more

I recently hired two men and a truck to move from Chesterfield to Macomb twp. Approximately 10 miles. At first, everything was going great until I found damage to a brand new recliner. I pointed the damage out to employees on scene and completed their damage form with both my and the employees signature. It has been over 7 weeks and still nothing from this company. I contacted numerous times to see what the solution is and was told their repair person/company is on vacation. Approximately a week ago I was told that the person who handles the repairs would be out Sunday morning between 10am-11am. Sunday has come and gone. I received a NO CALL/NO SHOW from this alleged repair person. I am extremely unsatisfied thus far. The recliner still had the tags on it and now is sitting in the same place they left it and damaged!!!! read more

I used the Doreka Fraser Two Men and a Truck for the second time yesterday. They were professional and cheerful and did all my requested moves under the time estimated. Mike and Jeff did a fine job, involving multiple items being moved from shed to curb and house to new house. Thank you. The first time I used Two Men and a Truck was a month prior, and Mike and Joe worked together and went above and beyond in their work. The good work they did prompted me to use them the second time. I will not hesitate to use this company and people again. They had challenges from my side since I added tasks for them to do after they arrived, and one of the added tasks was moving a large freezer from a basement with 0 clearance to get it out. That did involve some scheduling changes and additional time, but fortunately they were able to schedule the time for the extras from the office. Done. Cheerful. Stress is gone. I recommend that you write down what you want done in as much detail as you can before you call to schedule an appointment. For the best time estimate, for example tell them I want a washer moved from a basement or a bed moved to an attic or whatever it is you want them to move. Be specific about the sizes of the items as best as you can, sofas and stoves and beds come in lots of sizes and it makes a difference....Make sure there is someone at your locations because they do arrive and start as requested and if you are in the back yard and they are at the road, be at the road not at the back yard. They are better movers when you are a better customer, they appreciate that and it is easier on all concerned when you know what you want done and what is expected of you and them. As I wrote that I guess that is pretty true of all things, not just specific to moving! I was a better customer the second time around. read more

I understand movers typically need two weeks to schedule a move. We got lucky and they were able to fit us in as a second move of the day with only two days notice. Since we were the second move of the day, they were a bit late but once they arrived they got right to work. They showed no signs of being tired and the team worked well together. This was my first experience hiring a moving company and it was a Great one. Beginning this process was quick and thorough, via internet quote followed by a timely phone response. On the morning of the appointment that was scheduled .between 8 -9 am the movers arrived 8 am sharp. I was not as prepared for the move as I had hoped but Trevor had assured me we would get it done.
