I got the Combo Pie (pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, onions, bell pepper) and a single slice with pepperoni. Pretty tasty pizza. Would I call it New York style ?...ehhhh...meh...probably not. I grew up in Central PA where all the pizza places were owned by NY/NJ transplants. The differences here are typical to what I've found in the South during my 37 years here. The dough doesn't quite have the gluten chew of NY pie and tends to be heavier. You don't get the airy bubbles on the crust end, etc The cheese is different as well and lacks the stretch of NY pie. The other differences are prep/convenience choices ...the Italian sausage here is ground and the onions and green peppers are diced. True NY pie uses sliced Italian sausage (looks just like the pepperoni) and jullienne cut veggies. These may seem like insignificant things but it matters. So...if you like the doughier Mellow Mushroom type pie this will satisfy you. If you're from the northeast and want something to make you feel like you're back home... then not so much. Get the single slice with pepperoni or just plain cheese if your want a foldable slice. read more

We went to our usual favorite pizza spot, (I won't say the name) only to be "greeted" by the rudest waitress I have ever encountered in my life. So we tried another pizza place. The Italian Pizza Pub. It was way better than our usual spot. We are from up North so we have high expectations for pizza. And this pizza will certainly do. I must say that this place impressed me. Their pizza was absolutely delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But what really stood out to me was seeing this man down on his luck come in and was counting pennies trying to get something to eat and the employees blessed the man with free food. We love the food. Finally a family friendly karaoke. (Wed from 7-10pm) It is a little dark in the back for us but kids had fun. They even sang a Christian song and was cheered by everyone. The workers are super friendly. They work as a team and we admire that. They do serve beer as well. read more

Having spent the day moving into our house, after the moving van left we were starving. My son & I drove across town to Italian Pizza Hub because it has such good ratings. We now know why. We ordered a chef's salad with creamy Italian dressing & 3 medium pizzas: double pepperoni, mushroom-onion-green pepper (veggie) & a supreme. I don't have a pic of the chef's salad, we scarfed it down pretty quickly. It was fresh & there was plenty for the 3 of us. We all thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas. There are enough leftover pizza for lunch tomorrow. They all had plenty of cheese & toppings, the marina sauce was flavorful & the crust was tender. This was a great pizza. Visiting the area and heading towards Papa Johns and we see 3 pizza joints in a row! I had read good things about this place, so we took the chance. Excellent pie. Sausage, pepperoni and onion to go. I think the large was 16". Extra cheese, well done. We waited and had a beer (cold). Not much of a restaurant, I would definitely suggest to-go orders. Cooked perfectly although I would not call it a true NY style thin crust. On the thin side, but not as I picture a NY slice. Hot, fresh, - they gave us plates, napkins, red pepper and cheese to go. It was tasty cold and microwaved the next day, too. Paid less than $23 for the x-large custom order. Well worth it. We will be back. They have beer and a soda fountain. I really like this place. The pizza and parmigiana chicken sub have always been really tasty. The owner is very kind and he has a few giants in the back making pizza for him. Ok, If you're looking for fancy dont bother, if your looking for REAL PIZZA from someone with a spoiled Chicago palette THIS IS YOUR PLACE, especially for a decent thin crust. We wanted to try a new pizza place and I'm so glad we did! The cheesy bread was amazing! The dough is the perfect amount of crispy edges to chewy insides. They don't skimp on the cheese either! But this place is a gem - it may look a little sketchy from the outside as it is an older building but inside the great smell of quality Italian food is what you get as soon as you walk in. This is one of those places that has amazing lunch and dinner specials. If you are looking for a place with great food at a great price this is it!! The place inside is basic but comfortable. For those New Yorkers the slices are the same foldable style and quality you would expect there right here. JC has allot of quality pizza but this one is very high on my list as well as for other Italian dishes. Service is great and with a smile. Everything just feels right .. it is casual but quality. There is a really nice area outdoors as well so you can soak up a nice day with great food. I see no reason to go to a chain with food of this quality and price. With that said this is probably the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life! IPP is an absolute staple in Johnson City and has been here for 35+ years and whatever they are doing they do it incredibly well and Incredibly consistently.
