I just left the bank after disputing this case for almost 3 months now and I can tell you exactly the scheme behind this "business" and how it is a scam. I spent $120 on a repair and received a broken phone, not once, but twice. My phone was falling apart and was inoperable. I brought it in a third time and the owner blatantly refused the service that I paid for under the warranty that I was guaranteed. I went to the bank the day it happened to dispute the charge. 2 months later, I received a letter in the mail that had my signature and said that I signed for the charge. The bank couldn't reimburse me because too much time had passed to get in touch with his bank. So basically, this company will take your money, whether or not they know how to fix the phone, or have the parts to repair it. They'll have you sign without giving you a disclosure. If they would, the disclosure would say "I agree to this charge, whether or not I receive my phone in an operable condition or not." Once you dispute it, they'll wait until the last second so they are guaranteed that you won't have enough time to reopen the case. That isn't even the worst part. When I brought my phone in the third time he screamed at me in his store in front of his customers. I called asking him to please repair the phone, and he threw yet another tantrum. Keep in mind that this is a 30 year old man that I'm talking about, and I'm a young woman so this was extremely distressing for me. After we left, we got a phone call from the police saying that my boyfriend damaged his property. He had his coworkers sign something that attested to this lie. There wasn't anything we could do about it. He showed us and the officer a hairline break in the frame of the door. The owner, Brett Westover, then told us that it would cost almost $500 to get this fixed, which would have been a misdemeanor charge. We had a repair man fix it for $200, even though I'm still convinced the damage was there before. So basically this person scammed us out of $300 and I got absolutely nothing in return except a horrible experience. Please, take my word for it and don't give this sleaze your money. I'm a student who works a minimum wage job and I'm just trying to get by. I couldn't believe something like this could happen, so the best I can do is provide others with this information so it doesn't happen to them. read more

To balance out the reviews, I wanted to share my experience. When considering repair services--not just for phones, but also for laptops, servers, and tablets--iTech did an excellent job with diagnostics. I've used the Apple Store in St. Johns Mall and Everything Mac in Gainesville (a hub for thousands of students with repair needs), and while they are generally reliable and all deserving of good ratings, there have been instances where things fell short. Specifically, when overwhelmed with too many repairs, their diagnostics or invoicing sometimes didn't meet expectations. That's when I decided to go local here in St. Augustine and tried iTech. They tackled a particularly difficult diagnostic issue with precision. Their calm and professional approach led them to identify water damage as the root cause, even before I had a chance to explain my side of the story. They quickly ordered an OEM part and had my laptop running like new again. I knew immediately, when they mentioned, a small coffee spill. For context, this was the second display replacement on a very expensive laptop. The first repair issue was due to a car accident on the second day after purchase--not a major collision but enough to damage the display--before I had even established AppleCare. Morale of the story, when you need some help, keep in mind if you break something that you love, you will always spend that extra to fix. Hats off to iTech. read more

It's truly a privilege for me to write this review of iTech, St Augustine, FL. If I could give this business 10,000 Stars, I would! They are miracle workers! Over the past two weeks I've spent countless hours, on the phone, and in person with several very knowledgeable techs, utilizing all of their resources, who ultimately told me I wouldn't be able to recover the info, I needed, from my iPhone. I was desperate, and had nearly given up hope. Then, someone from another very reputable business said, "why don't you take your phone to iTech"? I decided...why not? I just left my friends at Iphone Repair and they hooked me up bigtime....again. In the past, both myself and my wife have needed help. Each time, they took care of it on the spot and charged us NOTHING. That's rite. You heard me. ZERO charge. Quick service, great guys and absolutely brilliant at what they do. Today was just another example of how they can totally save the day and do it with a ease and a smile. It was heaven made out of what could have been hell. The Grandkids tablets were not charging!! I searched local listings, & thank goodness I found ITech Phone Repair!! They have great reviews, so I phoned and inquired about repairing tablets!! YES! Itech Phone Repair is the best place in St. Augustine for phone and computer repair. We have needed to use their services on 3 occasions. The most recent was to fix my iphone. They did a great job. The repair was completed quickly and expertly and the price was great. They also have fixed my mac book. Very reasonably priced and completed quickly. They definitely deserve a 5 star rating. my recently repaired smart phone was returned to me LOCKED instead of unlocked as i had bought it. when i called the co. i was told that they could not unlock it for me. my provider would not/could not unlock it, & neither would the provider to whom the phone was locked. ahhhh, but Brent @ itech cheerfully took the time &, w/out accepting payment, had my cell unlocked in 30 minutes. service like that is all too uncommon. read more

I went in today with my iPhone that wasn't receiving calls anymore, crashing repeatedly, yada yada yada. I walked out with a refurbished iPhone 15 for $750 less than I paid for a new phone at AT&T several years ago. And they never made this 70 year-old, not tech savvy, person feel uncomfortable. I brought my phone in for a repair and they never called me back to tell me it was ready to be picked up. In the lobby I saw a young man asleep on the couch. He said he's been there for hours. They assured me I would get my phone back in no time. A week later, still no response. I ended up waiting 3 weeks! If I had known it would have took that long I would have went elsewhere. Between myself, my wife, and our 5 boys I have repaired 4 phones this year alone. Itech is reasonably priced and very efficient. Generally has my mobile equipment/phones back to me in an hour or less. I highly recommend you give them a shot before making insurance claims or purchasing new phones.
