Over 24 hours after our arrival, we still had not been provided with a garbage bag or can. When we complained to Diane about the service and accommodations she said "you should be grateful for the gift you received". She also asked us if we'd like to just leave, without a refund. We told her we would be staying, that we were still unhappy, and that we still needed that garbage bag. She also told us that we would need to clean the kitchen before we left, the kitchen that was dirty when we arrived. I let her know that all of the dishes had been present upon arrival. She had the nerve to call the kitchen "well used" in her review of us. That kitchen was dirty, but it was in that state when we arrived and I would be leaving it as I had found it. We ate every meal out, nothing was prepared in that kitchen. As the weekend went on, we were in need of additional toilet paper. Cumulatively, we had received 1 roll for 5 women, with a Friday through Monday stay. I sent Diane a message requesting toilet paper at 9AM and again at 3:45PM. Sometime after 4PM she replied, letting us know that additional toilet paper could be found in the room connected to the first small room. We used a butterknife to pop the eye and hook lock on that door, as this is the door that only locked from the outside and we didn't have access to. On our last evening there, we returned to the Villa around 10PM. Upon entering, the smell of dirty dog was pungent. No dogs had been seen. We made our way to bed. At 3AM we were woken up by the sounds of the voices of other guests. These guests were utilizing the common room located just outside our divider, they were also using every single light in the room. Much to my dismay, my shutter door doesn't really block light or sound, so I laid awake in my bed made of wicker. The guests returned to their rooms around 4:30AM. At 6AM we were woken up again, this time by the barks of the dirty dog in the room at the end of the hall. In summary, we were duped. We spent $1,750 for 3-nights at this location. $250 of that was a cleaning fee, something surely not happening at the Cayuga Lake Inn. We were treated like garbage and made to feel unwelcome. I will never recommend this location to a single person I know. I have no doubts that this used to be a beautiful location, but it is horribly maintained. Diane's knick-knacks and open books line every surface in the rooms. You can write messages in the layers of dust on the tables. If you're reading this Diane, your common room table says "Hi, Diane!" I'd love for you to go check. Wipe it while you're there, you can use the paper towels we brought from home. Stay away from the Cayuga Lake Inn. Beware of outdated positive reviews. There is no one working at this location except Diane, and she sucks.

Here's what you're getting at…read morethe Rustic Log Cabins on the Leidenfrost Vineyard: - Beautiful views of the lake (not sure if you can get to the lake from the cabins, we accessed the lake through a friend's house on the water.) - Peaceful - A one minute walk to the Liedenfrost Winery (it's literally right next door) - Your own private cabin with a fridge, two beds (our's had one single and one queen), dressers, table, chairs, porch with rocking chairs, and a picnic table. - Communal bathroom - like at a campground. - Across the street is Curtan's (?) Market - Cheese, hot sauces, produce, ice, and sandwiches. - No Wi-Fi - BUGS - bring A LOT of bug spray. The bugs will crowd around your door while you're inside at night. If you have to leave while it's dark, we learned the trick of turning the lights off at first, letting most of the bugs leave the door, then running out! (This was the number one con for us.) - Bring flashlights!! - You have to bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Approach the log cabins like you're going camping. If you hate camping and bugs, then there are plenty of hotels. But if you love to camp, like me, you'll enjoy this place. It's inexpensive and would be great for a group of friends to rent out all the cabins.

We rented out all four of the cabins, which meant we did not have to share the bathrooms with other groups and we were able to be a little louder than what you would expect at a state park camping grounds. I brought my dog on the wine tour and she had a blast as well. The cabins were pet friendly, and Jackie was so kind, telling me to be careful around the road (route 414) because a lot of people speed/whip right by. Cabins: The cabins were very quaint. My group went camping at a state park last year and had a blast. A lot of people thought the cabin would be too much, but they were perfect. We all had enough room to sleep on a bed, had electricity to charge our phones, and refrigerators to keep our beverages and leftover food from lunch and dinner cold. Each cabin had their own picnic table and bonfire. We just made one bonfire and moved a table over to accommodate all the people we had. There were stoves in the cabins, but we did not use them. There was firewood provided, which was very nice. Communication: Jackie was very easy to contact. We made our reservations two months in advance, and we kept in contact until the day of our arrival. She sent me a reminder in the mail, stating the remaining balance on a little brochure that stated more information about the cabins. I contacted her five days before our reservation confirming our arrival time and she promptly responded. When we arrived the day of our reservation, the cabins were clean and ready to go. She met us at the cabins and gave us a lot of suggestions as to where to go around the area. I would definitely recommend staying at these cabins if you are looking for a happy medium between camping and a hotel. My group loves the outdoors, so being able to have a bonfire and watch the stars at night was simply perfect!

Where do I start???…read more This place is an absolute GEM if you are staying in the Trumansburg area. We chose to stay here for our elopement at Toughannock Falls (5 minutes away) and it was perfect in every way. We stayed in the Junior Suite which had 2 bedrooms, creating the perfect getting ready space. The bedding is luxurious and so comfortable. The room had a fireplace and the bathroom had a standing shower and a tub. I regret that I didnt take pictures of the room, only videos, but if you look on their website, they have detailed pictures of every toom available! Guests have access to the entire downstairs, which includes a living room, a dining room, a tea room with many tables, a microwave, and a tea station, and a study type room that has an honor bar and a record player. The outside grounds are absolutely stunning, with flowers everywhere. The fountain out front was the perfect location for a first look! We had a traveling hair/makeup artist and our photographer come to the location and staff were fine with this and at times, we had the whole place to ourselves. I later learned that the space hosts micro weddings up to 23 people (I think this is how many people can be hosted on the property). This hotel is self service. When you enter, there is a key to your room waiting and some info booklets. There is a number to call an on-site staff but there is not a staff in the main house all the time. It was very very quiet and comfortable. I could hear that there were other guests in the hotel at times but I couldnt make out voices or conversations which was nice. Literally the only inconvenience we ran into was when our takeout order didnt come with utensils or napkins. We couldn't find any on site which surprised me based on the other things that were provided, like ice machines, glasses, tea stations, alcohol, etc. Just a small thing to remember if you stay here! The cutest little breakfast and dinner spots are nearby as well. It really is the perfect little Ithaca retreat and so close to so many waterfalls ans activities. I cant wait to go back!

It has new house smell and was pristine. The rooms are larger than I thought with good sized closets. I needed a desk for the week and the owners were very kind to bring one to the room for me. By the way - most folks are out for the day so the WiFi was better than my company jet pack! Definitely a plus. Breakfast this week landed around 9a and I had meetings during that time. They were so gracious to have a plate ready or welcome me to the porch table for privacy. Pros: - Their wine is delicious and their origin story is very interesting. Schedule a tasting ($10)! - Breakfast was delicious every day and includes ingredients from their garden - Local coffee served. They provided excellent recommendations for local cider and navigating the nearby gorge in Buttermilk Falls State Park. The breakfast bar was charming and featured local Ithaca favorites, like granola from Wide Awake bakery, coffee from Oak and Crow, Ithaca Milk yogurt, and local NYS honey and maple syrup. The room was beautiful, featuring a giant glass window to watch migratory birds and other wildlife. The decor was modern, yet the room had a vintage feel. The entire property was elegant with a retro touch. We loved all the outdoor seating, as well as the outdoor fire pits. We look forward to staying again on our next trip to Ithaca!
