Sitting in the dark our electricity went out - didn't want too but my mom had no other option - reached out for help. Needed proof that she was tithing for 6 months. Proof of being a member and attending church. The lady chuckled and said there's nothing she could do if we weren't a member and didn't have proof of tithing. I love the message and the music of course...it's world class church music in our backyard. I sometimes leave thinking the pastor is shooting a tv show and I was just part of the audience. Maybe I'm wrong but sometimes it feels like a tv commercial for the curch and the people there are for show. The overall message is great though. read more

Pastor Dave does an excellent job presenting biblical teachings and relates the teaching to issues we face in our daily lives. The music program is awesome and uplifting. I absolutely love iTown Church! I've been attending the Fishers (Olson Farms) campus for several years and I can say that this is an authentic, Bible-teaching church full of love and grace, and wonderful Christian believers, and lots of Christian-curious people too. In response to the wild accusations out there, claiming that the church is some sort of weird cult, I can without hesitation say that there is nothing weird or cultish going on here! Just wonderful pastors Dave, Kate, Chris, and others, working incredibly hard and giving so much of themselves in order to do exactly what Jesus did: seek the lost, serve the poor, encourage those who are experiencing difficulties, and loving everyone, even the unlovely-- always pointing people to the only One who can save. And to those out there expressing negative opinions in some very irresponsible, unfair, and hurtful ways, I can say that throughout history, persecution only makes God's Church stronger. So bring it on, I guess. read more

Pastor Dave, Sumrall is straight forward and preaches biblical truth in scripture straight from the Bible. The church has an excellent youth program and their #1 priority is protecting our children from the demonic world they are being exposed to. They are a very generous church also. read more

Wreckless operation during a pandemic. With almost 5000 new cases of COVID per day, this church is operating at full capacity. All workers do not wear masks. There is limited hand sanitizer. No social distancing. Saddened to see this church not show any precaution when we are in a pandemic. I moved from San Diego in 2017 to Fishers as a college graduate and was directed to try out Itown due to the fact that I was new to the area and did not know anyone my age. After going to a couple of different churches, I settled with Itown because I thought I would find a community there to hang out with but also experience reading the bible together. At first, I was attracted to the warm energy and people my age. I thought I would be able to find community there. After several months, I informed one of the leaders at Itown that I would love to start volunteering and was instructed that the grow plan was the way to start volunteering, as it would find my spiritual gifts. I felt that this was odd because I grew up in the church and never have I ever once had to go to meetings and fill out a questionnaire to find my "strengths" to volunteer. After taking this questionnaire that was very similar to a myers briggs persoanlity test, I was able to volunteer. One thing I noticed immediately was how the questionnaire was scored, as there were some questions that were skewed towards a couple of volunteer positions but easily could be applied to other things. I got data entry, but a lot of the questions that I was scored on could have went into administration. My intuition had me thinking that they wanted people in a lot of the front facing stuff like ushers and the go team parking team and very small amount of the questions were geared towards other volunteer work. So, I thought that was hilarious. Anyways, while the volunteer jobs were standard church stuff, I initially asked the head of the grow plan that I have a finance degree from a Private Christian college (PLNU) and we were encouraged to use our talents or the skills we learned to help our surrounding community in any way we could. My fellow business classmates would actively help non-profits or local churches in this capacity. It was very normal and accepted. So, asking the grow plan leader, she directed me to the finance and accounting pastor to ask. So, I introduced myself and explained my degree and what my business school encouraged us to do for our community as way to provide help. I explained how we offered something complex as actual accounting/budgeting/inventory work to something simple like building excel spreadsheets as volunteer work. I could give the church 10-15 volunteer hours of my time. The response I was given was the bluntest "no" I have gotten from anyone at Church. While I took the response in stride, as you don't know what is going on someone's life, I felt it was very odd that a church that was growing by the weekend wouldn't need help in that area. I ended up doing data entry before I realized I hadn't talked to or seen anyone from the team in over a 2 month span. Thats when I left volunteering at Itown and nobody followed up with me as to why. Still went to Itown for another several months. I was encouraged to apply to the ITLA but I was perplexed by the hours committed to it. Almost like people who did ITLA were either unemployed or in their teenage years so their time commitments were freed up. Also the requirements were strange. Like working out 5 times a week, for example. I think the response I got on that was we have to treat our body like I temple, which is quoted from 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. I responded with to the effect of that verse is totally taken out of context, as Paul was talking about sexual immorality. Has nothing to do with working out or if we are shopping at a free-range, organic, locally sourced food market. That response went as well as you expect it to and I didn't end of applying to ITLA. The final straw for me was seeing a young girl, who worked for the media team there, distraught at an Itown small group. When I went up to her to ask what is going on, she explained to me that she is trying to find a second job and she can't afford rent but she can't get a second job because of the media work she is doing at Itown. I asked her if she talked to the church about raising her hourly wages. She responded with, "Im doing unpaid internship work for Itown." I was shocked by that as I thought she was getting paid. I subsequently asked her to just reduce her hours and she replied that she was being pressured by her reporting pastor to keep her hours, even though she can't even afford rent. I asked her how many hours did she work that week, to which she replied "between 40-60 hours". I was appalled. I told her that those are violations under federal labor laws and that Itown, from my understanding, has to be offering you a full-time position at the end of your internship or the level of your internship is meeting a level of accreditation that applies for the workforce if the hours you are working exceed 20 hours. If not, she should be getting paid for her work. read more

ITOWN seriously changed my life. I have seen God move exponentially and have been so blessed not only situations that have arisen since I started going but also the connections I've made. ITOWN seriously just loves people and I just love how they love. They write personal notes to me and my son when I ask for prayer requests or to my son just because. I pushed away from God because he was born special needs and I was upset and felt God was punishing a baby which I didn't understand. So my son wasn't raised Christian for the most part. But now he loves God and is getting the hang of it which is great. And the ITOWN kids team couldn't be better. Everyone I have brought LOVES the church and says they felt moved by the Holy Spirit. It's just incredible. I'm so happy to be a part of ITOWN. Don't even get me started on the missions trip I took. This review will go on forever! Best experience. Honestly I had a terrible experience at this church. I am a reborn Christian who believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God who came in the flesh and I've accepted him as my Lord and savior. When I went to get help from various pastors for demonic activity, they performed a deliverance on me and boldly claimed I'm possessed. Although scripturally no disciple of Christ ever had demons in them because demons can not cohabit with the Holy Spirit. During this deliverance three pastors laid hands on me and pushed on certain areas of my body. Because of the unnecessary force, my collarbone hurt for about a week. They also claimed everything they said during this deliverance was from the Holy Spirit, when in reality they all still battle the three enemies: satan, their flesh and the world. They preached other false teaching to me as well. They told me I have an unholy soul tie to my ex boyfriend and that through this he can se*ually molest me from far away, get me high on drugs, and that I could know his thoughts. This is in NO WAY biblical whatsoever and it comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Within scripture God says in I Samuel 18 that "the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul." No where in this chapter does it describe that these two men could mystically speak to one another. Furthermore, there is no evidence in scripture that supports what ITOWN told me. Jesus never once taught that "soul ties" need to be broken. Also a pastor claimed I could see demons. Scripturally there is no physical description of demons. They also said my soul was stolen when I had already repented for my sins, and believed in Jesus. These pastors spiritually abused me. They told me that I needed to read the whole new testament before I get water baptized. Jesus never commanded anyone in the Bible to do this before getting baptized. We are not saved of works, only by grace through faith. They tried to control me and my mother. They told me that I should only listen to Christian music, only watch movies about Jesus, go to my room, and that I might have to leave my mother one day. The pastor told my mom to quit her job to go to church on Sundays even though she does not have the financial means to do so. They are abusing their power. When I called pastor Derick for spiritual advice, he was not compassionate. Even though I am truly saved, he claimed I'm not following Jesus. Because I wasn't reading my bible during that time, he called me lazy. In reality I was genuinely sick during this time with an autoimmune disorder that made it difficult for me to read and concentrate. During my visits to iTOWN they gave me a list to help combat "possession". Derek told me I will never be free if I don't follow that list. This is utterly and completely wrong. Jesus sets people free, not a list. Furthermore, Jarrah, another pastor at ITOWN, told me that she had a vision of me walking free before I even entered their doors to meet with them. Derek contradicted this statement that came from his coworker. He also told me at the end of our conversation that he had no reason to be helping me because I don't even go to his church. Jesus calls us to use the gifts he bestows to us to selflessly help other people. He also manipulated me by saying enemies will lie about him, when in reality, many other ministers and pastors have told me he was wrong and abusive. I felt called to leave this review to spread the truth and protect other Christians from spiritual abuse. Be aware of wolves in sheep clothing. My heart goes out to any other believer who has experienced this. God bless you all, and I hope these pastors learn from their mistakes. read more

We've been attending Itown for a little over a year now. Growing up in a Lutheran church stepping into Itown was definitely different. The people are soo nice and welcoming. I also highly recommend their cafe! It's my once a week I can disconnect from the crazy world and just give praise. (Even our kids enjoy going)! The only good thing about this church is rhe preacher, Dave Sumrall, and the tech. The music is loud, hard to sing, and never goes with the sermon message. The song sets are stale, with little if any variation from week to week. While the tech is great, they do not use it to its full capabilities. The graphics and lyric presenations do nothing to contribute to the song message or worship experience. Then, and this is a highly irritating deal killer, the control they insist on having over you from the minute you enter the property. It begins with cones telling you where you're allowed to park. Inside, they tell you where you can sit. Then, on leaving, they tell you which direction you can go, which is only south or west. In short, the whole experience certainly tarnishes my understanding of church and worship. read more
