iTrip is a terrible property management company. I've never been treated with more disrespect by a service provider in my life. I stayed in one of their Isle of Palms units last week, and the internet did not work. The condo did not receive cell service, and because there was no internet, I could not use my baby monitor, work from home, or watch TV because all of their TVs are streaming only. The reason the internet did not work was due to iTrip's negligence in maintaining the router - it was corroded and iTrip was unable to get a replacement during my stay. While iTrip did send someone out to look at the issue, that person was unable to respond. Communication with iTrip is horrendous. There is no proactive outreach providing solutions (they could have moved me to another unit, given me one of the other WiFi passwords for the unit, offered me something, etc.). They did respond to my communication attempts, but not with anything helpful, just that they would "pass the message along." When I finally was able to speak with a human (Tessa) she was so rude to me and kept telling me this wasn't her problem (even though these issues were due to poor maintenance). Then she left a nasty review about me on Air B&B. Save yourself the headache and book anywhere else. FOLLOW UP: I've been begging Steven at iTrip to call me for 10 days, and he hasn't made the effort to do that, but did respond to my review within minutes. I'm sorry, but your description of the rental says "PET FRIENDLY"! You may want to change it. The ripped couch and sickening smell absolutely confirms that animals were in the house. If you do have a mold meter, it is not working....look at the vent cover & the floor vent, plus the stains on the ceiling & on/in the furniture. The couch has dead bugs on it, covered by a throw I might add. Can't believe your remarks with a house that looks like this & that you wouldn't even say we'll look into it! Budget rental is too high of a mark to put on this rental! read more

Almost one year later after our stay, I get this response from the owner: 7/8/2023 We're sorry you did not enjoy the stay but someone in your group had a party and vomited all over the bathroom. As we noted to you the 'mold' in the window was actually foam insulation from around the window air conditioning unit. I love how they didn't bother addressing ONE thing that I put in my review and instead they attack the review that I left them. Keep in mind, I also sent them an extensive email prior to leaving a review and they came back with "someone threw up all over the bathroom and left our towel dirty." Their towels were incredibly thin (probably from the dollar store). Why dont you worry about having a functional house that wont make us sick??? Foam insulation?? That's what you call it now??? Finally, I tried to be nice and email them. I also left them a fair review. THESE OWNERS, couldnt' be any nastier. They decided to leave me 0's as reviews down the board. That's how you work with your customers??? Classy, so classy. Lastly, if you are going to do that, why dont you NOT take my contact information for future correspondence and ads? These idiots started added me to their distibution list for future rentals. UM BIG FAT NEGATIVE and NEVER EVER WILL I STAY AT ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS. Their picture looks like it's from the 1970s. Stayed in a great home...communication/customer service from ITrip Charleston left something to be desired...No one ever called to make sure everything was going ok...Both the garbage and recycling bins were overfull so we had no place to put things for a number of days...internet service went out in the first 24 hours...I advised them that a number of us had to take care of some important business so it was important that the router be replaced asap...they did not communicate about getting it back up without me having to ask over and over when it would be taken care of...finally less than 24 hours before we checked out someone brought a new router...After I voiced my displeasure I was told that I would I should not book again with one of their properties because I did not meet their company's standard because I 'didn't take time to be kind"...Not kind because I voiced my opinion...When you pay the money you have to pay to stay in a beach home, you should be able to be able to express your opinion without being insulted. We have stayed in 3 properties over the last 4 Summers, everything was perfect in the first two and I was never treated the way I was by this company. I would stay in the home again but not if this company was managing the property. read more

I booked a property in Charleston through VRBO that is managed by iTrip Charleston Vacations. The property had an acute smell that caused an immediate allergic reaction including difficulty breathing. The property also had ripped furniture with bugs on top but covered by a throw and rotted furniture that would have injured us if we used it. A call to iTrip was fruitless. They would not move us to another property or in any way assist us. We called VRBO multiple times but despite photos verifying our claim - they let the property manager decide the outcome. Know this! ITrip refused any compromise like returned the service and cleaning fees so we could rent a hotel! We offered to let them keep the rent but no way. These are greedy, uncaring managers who will not assist any customer with an issue. AVOID THIS COMPANY OR KISS YOUR VACATION GOOD-BYE! read more

Beware of doing business with this group. I think they did not properly disclose construction being done in the adjacent unit. Instead they buried this information at the end of the description of the rental. They would not let us out of our contract just several hours after booking. I guess return business and good word of mouth are not important to them. I wish I had read these other yelp reviews before booking. Lesson learned. read more

If I could give a negative rating, I would. My family had scheduled a trip to Charleston and reserved a location through this company, but we had to cancel. We tried to cancel as soon as we knew we were not going to be able to travel, but it was within their '60 days from check-in policy' and stated that we need to either use the property as scheduled or make an insurance claim. BTW, the insurance claim does not cost them a cent, they still keep your money and then can reschedule someone else in the location on those dates...This organization then does not refund any of the service fees that were paid for the reservation, such as cleaning and animal deposit. We did not cross the threshold of this reserved location and have paid for cleaning that was not needed and an animal deposit for an animal that never was there. The service fees were ~$750.00. Their website says they pride themselves on customer service, but that is a LIE. They hide behind a 60-day policy that allows them to screw people over, as most items that will affect a families ability to travel happen closer to the travel dates, but that is what they are banking on. We even tried to reschedule the days, but once again, they pulled out this 60-policy to use to not allow a reschedule. They are not concerned with good customer service, just optimizing their cash flow. Steer clear of this company! read more

We rented a lovely home in Isle of Palms from iTrip Charleston via AirBnB. Before we checked in, we were told that there would be a little bit of work being done in the garage for a few hours the day we checked in and the next day. We were not told that it would be so loud that it was like being in a factory. Drills and other loud equipment were nonstop. My young son could not nap through this noise. We tried to be understanding but when the work continued for HOURS after we were told it would be done, we grew a little frustrated. iTrip did NOTHING to finish the work on time or accommodate the major disruption to the beginning of our long-awaited, and pricey, vacation. Out of deference to the lovely homeowner, we decided to leave a nice review on AirBnB for the home. But after iTrip left a review about us stating that we "needed to chill" because we calmly expressed our discontentment with the major inconvenience, we felt it was time to leave an accurate review here without impacting this specific homeowner. If you are a homeowner, you should know that iTrip is NOT treating your customers well, does not communicate effectively with those customers and you should look to other property managers. read more

I contracted with VRBO for a condo rented by ITrip Charleston. 48 hours later I had to cancel after a family medical emergency that leaves me unable to travel in September. 48 hours later I was refunded my deposit less $250 that they claim is a fee they are entitled to per the contract. First I was under the impression I was contracting through VRBO which guarantees a 100% refund if cancelled by the end of July. This was cancelled within 48 hours. Be aware that these people are not consumer friendly at all, and make sure you review your fees if you decide to deal with them. I had read the reviews and would not have contracted directly with them. You should not either. read more

For over a week, I have been attempting to get in touch with this company's manager to cancel my upcoming reservation in light of COVID-19. I am 6 1/2 months pregnant and unable to travel, but have not received any response from the company. This is so disappointing, especially since VRBO (the company that I booked them through) asked their property owners to honor the current climate and provide refunds. Do not deal with this heartless, rip-off company. First, they jack up their charges with extra fees: $160 cleaning for five nights; $50 for a "Welcome Lady"; $68.60 for Merchant Services Processing Fee; $45 for Processing, Incidentals & Amenities Fee; plus $69 Limited Damage Waiver. That's roughly $80 a night just for fees! But more significantly, they refused to refund any of our money after we were forced to cancel because my wife had been diagnosed with a relapse of her incurable bone marrow cancer. I sent them a letter from her oncologist saying that she was immunosuppressed and could not travel (besides which she will be undergoing intense chemotherapy during the time we had booked). But nothing. Even the airlines have been more compassionate than this. Don't give your money to this obscene, greedy, money-grubbing company. Please. I would rate then Zero stars but Yelp insists I give them at least one. They don't deserve it. read more

They seem like they were a great company prior to crisis, however are unwilling to budge on cancellation policies agreed upon pre-Covid. I would advise against booking with this company for the remainder of uncertain times around this pandemic. They required 60 days worth of notice and still kept my $250 admin fee. While health and government officials plead for us to shelter in place, Itrip Vacations Charleston Beaches demonstrate an alternate perspective. Unfortunately, this company has chosen to capitalize on COVID. As has been widely publicized, the federal government has recommended that groups of 10 not socialize, but this Company is encouraging the continued rental of a house that sleeps 12. The federal government has recommended that citizens self-isolate and practice social distancing, but this Company is encouraging guests from out-of-state to travel to Charleston and go to the beach as if nothing is wrong. The Company has refused to issue a full credit for a future booking. Based on this Company's poor policies, ethics, and customer service, I would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

Stayed with a group of 10 at a property on the Wild Dunes resort grounds and it was fantastic. Great hospitality from itrip, they let us check in early, proximity to the beach was unbeatable, and their communication was very clear and timely. Would highly recommend a stay. read more

BEWARE: ITrips took over mgmt of a rental property our family had booked for the summer of 2021. Due to the property changing management companies the previous rental property was forced to cancel our reservation 7 months after we booked and 3 months before our vacation. Rather than reaching out to all those families affected to rebook them with ITrips/the new mgmt co. we found the same property available that same day our reservation was cancelled on VRBO by ITrips at DOUBLE the price - more than $6k for the same week! We were told "We have been hired to manage and market the home and our new listing and rental rates presented reflect the rates that the home should command in our experience based on our other homes in the area." They did offer, and I quote, "a slight discount" and we were told multiple times they as well as the owners did not have any obligation to our family in this situation. It is my opinion that now that people are getting vaccinated and COVID is winding down they are anticipating an uptick in travel. They would not honor our old price and there are no longer any comparable properties available this close to the summer in the area.
