Would have given more stars but the elevator was out of service with no warning online. There was very loud construction right outside our window. Again no warning and road closures all around the hotel. Staff was wonderful. Hotel was comfortable.

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend to play golf and see the sites around Charleston. Everyone here at HarbourView was so nice and helpful! They were always checking in to make sure our service was good! The breakfasts were delicious and the Inn's valet car park came in handy. Really recommend this hotel for a true Charleston experience!

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel right on the harbor within steps to everything. 3 blocks to Rainbow Row. 2 blocks to the historic market. Less than 1/2 block from the Pinapple fountain. Only a few blocks for the famous shopping. Hotel has a wonderful free breakfast, afternoon happy hour and cookies and milk at nighttime. Everything is clean, room is beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel and Great helpful staff!! Rooms were clean & comfortable. Nice touches with the 5pm wine & cheese and nightly milk and cookies! Livingroom area for board game playing. If you go, ask for their Bourbon drink it will knock your socks off!! Breakfast is included and can can be brought to your room, lobby or rooftop.the only thing missing is a pool!

Our 4th of July stay was amazing. The staff are so friendly and where more than accommodating given my mobility issues. Will be back for sure!

Harbourview Inn was a lovely place to stay for a long weekend getaway to Charleston. I stayed here for three nights while exploring downtown Charleston. It is a great location as it is right next to the harbor and close by to a lot of different restaurants and bars. With the covid pandemic, I'd encourage checking to see which places are open though as some were closed during my stay. It is sad that there is a new development being built right across the street from HVI. Once it's completed it'll block the nice harbor views some of the rooms get at HVI but at least it's still a good location. The staff here (shout out to Doug!) where so welcoming and friendly. They were always around to be helpful and explain their new normal with covid precautions. To reduce exposure to covid, they offer sanitizer wipes at check in and allow you to determine your preferences with housekeeeping services. They also keep each room vacant after it's been used for 24 hours as an additional precaution which made me feel better. They still offer their amenities of complimentary breakfast and a wine and cheese happy hour daily. The difference is they individually prepare each meal and happy hour plate so it isn't buffet style. This was actually great for breakfast as we just ordered what we wanted the night before (hung out the menu order on the door handle) and they dropped off the tray of food at your specified time. There was a mix of hot foods and cold foods such as a quiche, muffins, cereal, toast, etc. They also offered coffee and juices. They still offer the complimentary happy hour special with wine and light bites. The food was already prepped and individually wrapped for each person to limit exposure and contamination which I was very impressed with. The folks at HVI really took the extra step to continue to ensure their guests enjoyed their amenities but maintained a safe and clean environment. This hotel was definitely a dream spot for our stay. Not only because of the spacious rooms and nice amenities, but the location and staff really put it above others places to stay. Oh, and the best part is their rooftop terrace! It's a great spot to enjoy the Happy Hour special as well as watch the sunset and check out the downtown area and harbor views. Highly recommend HVI for folks looking for a wonderful play to stay in Charleston!

Check in was to be 3, but was told if they got our room done early they would call me, it was done early, no call. So we arrived at 3 to check in, only to be brushed off by a staff member who looked at me like I was interrupting a conversation who then got the person I was to check in with.(Apparently guests are just rude by showing up.) She asked if I could help her and I said we were checking in, and acted like I was beneath her and I had also interrupted a conversation with her and 2 others and how dare I take her away from such important gossip just to check in. The room was tiny. Clearly they updated things, but the door was busted, AC was dripping water which we wiped off so we did not have to deal with staff but as pic shows it started condensing again, the filter?? has this ever been cleaned?!?!?!?!?! (Explains my and my wife's asthma flare up) Check out was just as bad, won't bother going back. We were on the 3rd floor, there is a tiny deck with two rock hard chairs, really they need to put in a divider so you don't look in the neighbors room. Honestly wonder how much water from the AC unit is dripping to rooms below us and if they have black mold from it.

Given the length of our stay we upgraded to the King Junior Suite and found it to be a delightful room. The INN being central to the City Market and offers quick access to shops, restaurants and historic churches. We were able to use it as a base for walking to dinner each night 5 to minutes to the cities top restaurants, and exploring the city center. When our car was needed IAAM museum or plantation visit etc it was an easy ingress and egress location. Breakfast can be brought to your room or an expanded version is available in the lobby or a cute patio adjacent. We alternated to keep things fresh. Room was very clean and surprisingly very quiet for a central city. location. Staff pleasant engaging and helpful when needed. Turn down service at night. The hotel is fastidious about minor details all which lead to a wonderful stay. A Delightful Stay!

I read a lot of reviews and came across this hotel because of its location and other folks reviews. I would absolutely book this hotel again and I will be coming back to Charleston. The people made our experience here in Charleston fabulous and we greatly appreciate it. Thanks to Hannah, at the front desk for all her recommendations to eat everything was spectacular. Thanks to Bob the bartender that made one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had and lastly, thanks to the manager Carlo for coming over and introducing himself. Everyone is so nice and we def received the southern hospitality!

You're only as strong as your weakest link…read more I've stayed in many hotels for both work and personal travel. The nice amenities, decent gym and friendly staff are what creates the environment for a pleasant experience. Two of these were met and the friendly staff, was mostly there. . .but one sour apple truly changed the course of our stay. Even my wife, who worked once upon a time in hospitality at Kiawah Resort, was started by the interactions from The Loutrel Hotel staff member. Long story short. The daily complimentary breakfast was served. I accidentally went to place the granola lid on the yogurt, my wife told me that was the wrong lid and I went to correct. From across the room the breakfast attendant yelled, "sir that doesn't go there." Startled, I immediately removed it and placed it accordingly. I laughed it off. Moments later I went to sit my breakfast down where my drink was located. Same attendant, "you're not even sitting at the right table with your wife." Again, my error, but don't call me out twice in one morning. It's a small lobby, so many staff members overheard the interaction. Nothing was done by other management. The next morning, I walked down to look at breakfast. I saw the same attendant and said, good morning. She looked at me but wasn't pleasant in her response. Unlike the rest of her colleagues at the restaurant who are polite and kind, the same customer service I expect and provide to my customers. Breakfast offered salmon with some type of eggs or shellfish. I can't eat shellfish, allergic. So, I went to grab a biscuit at a local coffee shop and a coffee. We came back to the hotel and sat our food down. The same rude attendant came over, nudged my wife in her back and said, "you can't have this here, cross contamination." So, I left. Allowed my wife to eat her yogurt in the area. Funny enough, my wife asked where the utensils were, because every table had them. Same attendant rudely, pointed to another table for her to get them. I should have just sat down and ate my food as I didn't see any signs for "no outside food." Either way, stay somewhere else. It's unfortunate that a hotel like this allows such rudeness from a staff member. I did report this to the manager, and online but was met with more passivity. Comped two nights of valet. Honestly, it wasn't enough. I would never stay here again and it ended the trip on such a sour note.

Pretty cool, they check you in with one of their specialty drinks.... Awesome cornbread muffins are always there for you to snack on. The bar is right next to the lobby. They put your car on a stacker in the garage. looks old on the outside but was completely rebuilt five or 10 years ago? I like that everything is new. The building is very narrow and consequently, the rooms are narrow, but really nice. See my photos. If you like boutique hotels, you will love this one. Just beware there is no pool and the heat and humidity is quite oppressive.

Upon walking in I kind of gave my husband a look like what is this place. Honestly it was like walking into someone's home with a reception desk and a bar of that makes sense... LOL! I had no idea what to expect of the rooms. Honestly, we booked this place last minute so I briefly reviewed the pictures and reviews but was just ready to get away. BUT when we got to the room, after self parking at the public garage behind the hotel, we opened the door to the cutest little room. It was sized as if it was in New York City but had cute boho chic charm. It's perfectly located in the middle of everything and the walkability was what we enjoyed most. We walked to all of the best restaurants and shops once we parked, we only left the a garage once the entire time there. We loved the daily breakfast and were intentional about making it downstairs for it. The grits were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and once topped with the shredded cheese and fresh cracked pepper, I couldn't get enough! The pastries and biscuits were also very good. The biscuits and pastries tasted like someone's grandma made them. I know this review is long, so I'll stop now even though I could say so much more. We'll definitely return because I failed to try their espresso martini and they boast to have the best. Note: There's a valet option but the self parking seemed easier. If you've ever stayed here, I'd love to hear about your experience.

The kitchenette had everything one would need and than some. The bed was comfy, and decor was just enough. But let me tell you about the shower! The water pressure was the best I've had in years! I do not like to waste water but I just wanted to stand there it felt so good. I also like the full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Staff was also kind to give us suggestions and help us plan out our sightseeing so we could take advantage of all the town has to offer. The hotel is located in a perfect part of town not too busy and quiet. It took us 30 min walking to downtown, but there is a free shuttle that makes stops at all the major points and it runs quite often. Hotel also provided us with a free map of the downtown and all the things to do. I highly recommend this location.
