Stayed here for a couple of special events over the weekend. Loved the decor, ambiance, amenities, cleanliness and staff! The room was very spacious and comfortable. Loved the brick and giant mirror in our room! The staff was great and very friendly. We came back from being out on the town kinda late after celebrating and were a little hungry but were met with a very gracious member at the front desk who whipped us up a little box of cheese, meat, and strawberries. She was absolutely our late night hero! Thank you so much! We had a wonderful stay and look forward to other stays here in the future

We stayed here this past weekend for our Babymoon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was huge and clean. It was a nice touch to have complementary drinks and snacks in the fridge. We also enjoyed the chocolate that came with our package. The location also is very convenient. We were able to walk to most of our locations. The only time we drove was to drive to folly beach. The couples massage in our package was also amazing. The spa therapist really took her time and got all the knots I've been struggling with during pregnancy. I did take a star off because of the breakfast offered and the pool. The breakfast basket offered left more to be desired. I wish we were able to pick from a selection or were given vouchers or discount for a near by breakfast spot. In my opinion a breakfast at a fast food such as McDonald's would have been better. Just to summarize the breakfast offered: one day we got basic sausage egg muffins and fruit, another day 2 quick oatmeal packets and fruit (we don't eat oatmeal), and other day we got mini waffles and fruit. I am missing a day but forgot what was offered for that day for breakfast. Regarding the pool, it left more to be desired as well. The area of the pool is unable to comfortably accommodate more than 2 couples at a time. Also, the size of the pool is small (there is a floor decorated to the pool but the actual pool only takes up like 20% of the floor). We brought our bathing suits but sadly weren't able to use the pool as every time we went it was packed. Overall good experience as the rooms and the location was good but for this being a 4 star hotel, I had higher expectations for the breakfast and pool. There are other hotels also in downtown. We may try another one to compare the value here but I would stay here again.

Came for lunch following a Sip n Shop experience; were so pleased they were able to accommodate our 8 person group w no wait! The food, drinks, and view at this place are FANTASTIC! We ordered so many things: burrata and jam, Brussels sprouts, truffle fries to start and then we shared some mussels, the watermelon salad, the chicken sandwich w Cajun fries, and a couple bottles of wine (the Sancerre is delicious!). Our waitress was great, had an awesome personality which made for a fun experience. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend giving this place a try, it was truly delicious. 10/10!!

Located off King but still prominent. Very good use of the space it's a small boutique hotel with an amazing outdoor space, excellent rooftop.

Lovely size kitchen/ refrigerator stocked with free drinks and food for you to enjoy

Absolutely loved our stay. Its location is perfect for being in the center of downtown Charlestown. It's literally almost right off of Kings St. Perfect location for walking to many of the historic/ popular sites, right by the best store's for shopping, and many of the best restaurants. It was relatively quiet, and we felt pretty secluded in our studio with patio. Very spacious for 2 people, living area is separated by wall to the bedroom (with a king size bed). It has a nice size kitchen with bar countertop & stools. Bathroom is huge with rain fall shower. AC kept us cool inside away from heat/ humidity. Bed was very comfortable. It is also dog friendly. We took our dog, and it was such a great experience having her with us. They deliver little breakfast baskets in the morning, which are adorable. First morning we had breakfast sandwiches, second day oatmeal. They also have 5-6pm complimentary wine, crackers, and cheese hour every night, but we missed both nights. They have a rooftop bar/ restaurant, called The Watch Rooftop Bar/ Restaurant.. Which we took beautiful sunset pictures from. Just make sure you go to the right side for pictures. As we had dinner on the opposite side. Food was pretty good, drinks were great, and service was excellent, very friendly staff. The hotel also offers The Rise Cafe for coffee, with a cute little outdoor seating area, plus a pool/ jacuzzi on 5th floor, also offers a pretty view. Overall our stay was amazing, the service fantastic, and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience. Oh almost forgot - the valet was super easy too, pulled right up, they came out, and unloaded us, we went right into our room. We were able to do early check in- after calling and asking. We also took our car out the next day with no problem, and no wait time. Everything went super smooth. Although they do offer a jeep to take you around if traveling more than 2 miles,, along with bikes for use too.

I have stayed here a few times and they never disappoint. This time I could not enjoy something's due to Covid but the service from the staff was still stellar and the rooms clean as I expected. Thank you to Wendy for coordinating some of my little special requests. The pool is not that huge but I don't need to tan too much :) but definitely enjoy the rooftop bar. Charleston has many boutique hotels but you must check this place out if you are visiting Charleston.

This is a beautiful hotel/space. Since there were four of us, we stayed in a 2 bedroom Residence which had a full kitchen, living room, and 2 full bathrooms. There were a handful of things off with the room, but overall incredible. Cherry on top was getting complimentary drinks for being late on check-in, as well as a picnic basket breakfast of pastries each morning.

We used two of the rooms in The Restoration for our wedding party to get ready in, on our wedding day. We used one of those two rooms as the room that my husband and I spent our wedding night in. The brick wall, natural light, & floor plan was a dream! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, location is perfection, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the hotel is immaculate! We used the courtyard area as a spot for me & my dads first look. Gorgeous background. I highly recommend The Restoration for all of your hotel needs!!

When our car was needed IAAM museum or plantation visit etc it was an easy ingress and egress location. Breakfast can be brought to your room or an expanded version is available in the lobby or a cute patio adjacent. We alternated to keep things fresh. Room was very clean and surprisingly very quiet for a central city. location. Staff pleasant engaging and helpful when needed. Turn down service at night. The hotel is fastidious about minor details all which lead to a wonderful stay. A Delightful Stay!

I read a lot of reviews and came across this hotel because of its location and other folks reviews. I would absolutely book this hotel again and I will be coming back to Charleston. The people made our experience here in Charleston fabulous and we greatly appreciate it. Thanks to Hannah, at the front desk for all her recommendations to eat everything was spectacular. Thanks to Bob the bartender that made one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had and lastly, thanks to the manager Carlo for coming over and introducing himself. Everyone is so nice and we def received the southern hospitality!

You're only as strong as your weakest link…read more I've stayed in many hotels for both work and personal travel. The nice amenities, decent gym and friendly staff are what creates the environment for a pleasant experience. Two of these were met and the friendly staff, was mostly there. . .but one sour apple truly changed the course of our stay. Even my wife, who worked once upon a time in hospitality at Kiawah Resort, was started by the interactions from The Loutrel Hotel staff member. Long story short. The daily complimentary breakfast was served. I accidentally went to place the granola lid on the yogurt, my wife told me that was the wrong lid and I went to correct. From across the room the breakfast attendant yelled, "sir that doesn't go there." Startled, I immediately removed it and placed it accordingly. I laughed it off. Moments later I went to sit my breakfast down where my drink was located. Same attendant, "you're not even sitting at the right table with your wife." Again, my error, but don't call me out twice in one morning. It's a small lobby, so many staff members overheard the interaction. Nothing was done by other management. The next morning, I walked down to look at breakfast. I saw the same attendant and said, good morning. She looked at me but wasn't pleasant in her response. Unlike the rest of her colleagues at the restaurant who are polite and kind, the same customer service I expect and provide to my customers. Breakfast offered salmon with some type of eggs or shellfish. I can't eat shellfish, allergic. So, I went to grab a biscuit at a local coffee shop and a coffee. We came back to the hotel and sat our food down. The same rude attendant came over, nudged my wife in her back and said, "you can't have this here, cross contamination." So, I left. Allowed my wife to eat her yogurt in the area. Funny enough, my wife asked where the utensils were, because every table had them. Same attendant rudely, pointed to another table for her to get them. I should have just sat down and ate my food as I didn't see any signs for "no outside food." Either way, stay somewhere else. It's unfortunate that a hotel like this allows such rudeness from a staff member. I did report this to the manager, and online but was met with more passivity. Comped two nights of valet. Honestly, it wasn't enough. I would never stay here again and it ended the trip on such a sour note.

Pretty cool, they check you in with one of their specialty drinks.... Awesome cornbread muffins are always there for you to snack on. The bar is right next to the lobby. Upon walking in I kind of gave my husband a look like what is this place. Honestly it was like walking into someone's home with a reception desk and a bar of that makes sense... LOL! I had no idea what to expect of the rooms. Honestly, we booked this place last minute so I briefly reviewed the pictures and reviews but was just ready to get away. BUT when we got to the room, after self parking at the public garage behind the hotel, we opened the door to the cutest little room. It was sized as if it was in New York City but had cute boho chic charm. It's perfectly located in the middle of everything and the walkability was what we enjoyed most. We walked to all of the best restaurants and shops once we parked, we only left the a garage once the entire time there. We loved the daily breakfast and were intentional about making it downstairs for it. The grits were absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked and once topped with the shredded cheese and fresh cracked pepper, I couldn't get enough! The pastries and biscuits were also very good. The biscuits and pastries tasted like someone's grandma made them. I know this review is long, so I'll stop now even though I could say so much more. We'll definitely return because I failed to try their espresso martini and they boast to have the best. Note: There's a valet option but the self parking seemed easier. If you've ever stayed here, I'd love to hear about your experience.
