    Beef shawarma
    Olwen C.

Great Mediterranean food here! I've been here twice now and both times had a great meal, for a super cheap price. The beef shawarma is what I had both times for $7.99. My husband likes the chicken shawarma. Today we tried the hummus and baba ganoush and both were very good. They are open every day except Sundays and the owner also does a lot of catering. He is super nice. We will definitely keep this place on our list of places to eat between Niagara Falls and Toronto. There's a small parking lot across the street but only 1 table inside so it's mostly a take-out place. Highly recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. The owner is super friendly and the food I would give it a 5 Star

    Chicken shawarma

Really fresh and delicious. The chicken never has any gristle and is all breast meat. The owner is also very friendly and he donates his tips to local shelters. The food is affordable and fresh.

Me and my friend are waiting for our food on a lazy friday afternoon and the owner offered us some pastry (we ate half)

The menu is limited but the service was wonderful. The owner offered us some free pastry while we waited for our food to be cooked! Service was extremely friendly and nice. There aint much (or so it seems) in st catherines, but this one is worth it.

Came here because we wanted to have halal food and everyone wrote great reviews, but was very disappointed. It's located in a sketchy run down area and it smelled like sewer. Food was overpriced and not that great and small serving size was given. Will not come again. Not good for families.

This is a hidden gem. Super fresh food and bread. Lots of meat dishes but also very vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Review Highlights - It's About Thyme

(The lot behind the restaurant doesn't belong to them and you'll get towed!) The pita, humus, babaganoush, papas bravos, and pickled turnips were very good.

A combo has one side and a medium drink while a platter has two sides and a large drink. The chicken comes in non-spicy and spicy; we chose spicy. For the sides, we ordered Cole Slaw and Fries. It comes with 2 containers of dipping sauce and was told I could only choose one flavour, so I chose Buttery Ranch. The chicken was juicy and tender. I consider the spiciness level to be mid-spicy. They are known for their biscuit and I wasn't disappointed. It seems you can refill the drink using their self-serve soft drink machine. My mom doesn't like fast food but she loved Popeyes so much we came back two days later. Between the 2 days, we tried Mary Brown's for the first time ordering similar items; the chicken wasn't as good and the coleslaw was half the size. On our second visit, we ordered the 5-Piece Chicken Tenders Combo ($14.49), chosing only one side, the Coleslaw (which my mom loved). We found the Combo filling enough without having to buy a Platter. This time they let me choose 2 flavours for the dipping sauce; I chose Buttery Ranch and BBQ. I didn't like the BBQ for chicken tenders. One thing I noticed. For the 5 pieces, they put the buscuit and fries into a box and filled the rest with chicken tenders, so we got 6 pieces. When we bought the 5 pieces again without Fries, they put the biscuits into a box and put 7 pieces! Either this was generous of them or they put extra in it because we raved how good their tenders were so we came back. The restaurant is clean and service is courteous. With indoor seating, there are tables and booths, there is one semi-circular tables with 6 electric outlets. There is outdoor seating plus separate outdoor WiFi signal! There is medium-loud pop music playing in the background. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible but the outdoor door button doesn't work when I was there. There are separate male/female washrooms and they are wheelchair accessible.  There is free parking in their private parking lot. There are high chairs for young children. Review 2023-050

It was all crunchy, burned skin and old hard meat. Today, I have a sore stomach..and this is the second time in a year of the two times I purchased Popeyes. It's not the same Popeyes as it started out to be. So disappointed as it was supposed to be a treat and all I could think was the total disregard they had to serve us old, gross, burned chicken when we all work very hard for that money. Each bite crumbled onto the seat. Never again.

As far as vegan food goes, this establishment is just ok. Good, not great as they say. Maybe I'm…read morejust spoiled so it may be phenomenal for the area, but the falafel was bland, the peas in the rice a little odd, and spicy feta not spicy at all and very salty, and the "meat" or chili or something on the nachos (and oddly in the shawarma platter too) was just a strange flavor. I can't put my finger on it but it's just weird and very out of place. The wait staff was lovely, although when a friend asked for honey for her tea she wasn't given any alternatives for sweeteners, even though they had sugar. And the restaurant is very large so lots of seating and not super packed together either. We went in winter so not surprised at the temperature but it was very cold inside. All in all I'd only go again if there were no other options and I'd be satisfied but not blown away by any means.

The food was commendable, although if I were at the grill, I would keep things on long enough to crisp up, namely the pita bread and the Greek potatoes. Not sure why -- easy enough to do. That may come down to taste. Bruschetta topping was very good, but the underlying pita absorbed moisture instead of having any crunch. The house made feta was impressive. I enjoyed the Greek platter which featured some very tasty skewers. We also had a falafel plate skipping the rice. Greek potatoes were tasty, but had no browning which goes back to my initial comment. Seasoning on everything was great. Falafels were not bad; well seasoned and flavourful- - I wondered if maybe there was black bean in them. Worth checking out. Not over priced
