This higher-end Italian restaurant is in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking. There are 3 seating areas, sports bar area, main dining room, extra dining room (good for private parties, etc). We were there for Sun dinner as a big group of 16 as a gathering of high school classmates. We were seated at one long table. Our waitress handled orders well except for my unlimited refill pop, I asked her 3 times for a refill and she kept forgetting. I never got the refill. The food tasted good and were plated well. There was a large variety of food options. The only bad dish was the Vegan Pizza which looked horrible! They were kind enough to listen to the customer and remake it to her specifications. I really had no expectations walking into a random place I found on Yelp, in an unfamiliar area, in a commercial plaza, but I was in for a real treat. The food was good, and appropriately priced, the service was very friendly and accommodating (at some space in time a manager, or potentially the owner stopped by), the interior design is very interesting, and as much as this place is out of the way / off the beaten path, I know I will probably make an effort to return. read more

Surprisingly this place isn't terrible and has been around for quite some time. They seem to have a more North Americanized European menu. The thing though is that they do cook it pretty well which is why I give this place 3 stars. The service has always been good over the years but I do warn that I've seen the food quality fluctuate. The last few times I've been here the food has been solid though. This might be one of a handful of restaurants in St Catharines that I would consider going back to on occasion when we head out for a meal. read more

The food is diverse, healthy, inclusive and delicious! There is something for everyone! Service was kinda slow for 9pm at night but the food made up for it! Would definitely go back. The interior is quite beautiful and there's a nice wine room. The service was nice but anyways that's all the good I have to say about this restaurant. The food is very mediocre for such a unique designed restaurant: overnight refrigerated salad, tiny chicken wrap, and the chicken club sandwich was dry. For the price, the food isn't worth it. A tiny wrap with about five tiny pieces of chicken and a small salad was 12$. I would go back for drinks though since it is a hip looking place. read more

I recently went to this restaurant in late november for a staff party for work and there was about 15 of us all together. The service was great! They were on the ball with our orders and never screwed anything up and our server always had a smile on her face! The food was great! I ordered the chicken parm as i wasnt in the mood to try anything new so i knew that chicken parm would be a good choice. We only waited about 20 minutes between ordering and getting our meals and they were all pipping hot out of the stove! I would highly recommend this place for a large gathering or a dinner out with a friend. The restaurant is very clean and the service is exceptional! I will definately go back in the near future and try something new on the menu. I didn't realize they had the menu online until after we went. read more

Great staff, good food and reasonably priced. Mussels are amazing! Falafel wrap is good, but doesn't compare to authentic falafel. Don't get me wrong it's a great wrap, but I've had some next-level falafel and this stuff falls short when compared to the very best. Good food at slightly above average prices in a bistro atmosphere. The Greek fries (aka Greek gyro poutine) were a wonderful unique dish. My wife had a prime rib wrap, which was also received favourably. Plus points for looking sort of classy without asking for a dress code, but minus points for the many nicks and dents in the decor. We were there mid way through a Friday afternoon, and the place was still generally full, so that augers well for it. Will return. read more

Went here for dinner with a group of four from work. We were seated pretty quickly and the service was friendly but a little slow. Ordered the stuffed chicken which came with a house salad and bread. The house salad tasted pretty good and fresh. The stuffed chicken wasn't dry and had the right amount of cheese for the size of the chicken. The mashed potatoes that came as a side were amazing. Several years ago, we were very happy with this place. Over the next few years, quality, cleanliness and service has really gone downhill. A more mature crowd will definitely be disappointed here as the focus seems to cater to a younger crowd who have more tolerance to sub par food. Bathrooms were dirty and poorly stocked. The service here was fantastic when I visited on a Sunday evening, even on the patio which tends to be forgotten. The gentleman who served us was great with everything. Unfortunately, the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered a chicken salad and the chicken did not taste fresh at all. I grew up in St. Catharines and this is my favourite restaurant in the city. I have since moved but think about this Mediterranean pasta they had and crave it often enough. They may still have it on their menu as I haven't been in a while as it is a trek for me now. It is basically black olives, feta, tomatoes, onions, garlic and pasta tossed in olive oil (there are probably a number of ingredients I am missing but you get the picture). It is so yummy. They also have these crab/cream cheese filled phyllo pastry appetizers that come with a sweet chili sauce on the side and boy those are delicious too. They have a little patio basically in the parking lot which isn't much of a view but it's outside where you can enjoy the weather which is nice. All in all a great place to dine and would recommend it to anyone. Wish I could go back sooner than later. read more

Service was exceptional but restaurant if filthy. Cobwebs in every corner and an inch of dust on the lights curtains were gross and bathrooms worse. I can only imagine what the kitchen was like. This is a really good place to get a great meal at a reasonable price. The staff members were helpful and pleasant. The drinks are reasonably priced and there is a good variety of food choices. We ordered the calamari appetizer which came as a very large portion and might have been the best that I've ever eaten. The dinner salad with house dressing was plentiful and very tasty. We also had cheese ravioli and a mixed seafood dish, both of which were very good. There seemed to be a lot of panini sandwiches being delivered even though they weren't on the dinner menu. Must be a local favorite which seemed to be gladly served even though it was on the lunch not dinner menu. I would definitely go back if in the area again. read more

Can't Take A Hint! Been to Fresco's many times. We usually go there when we can't get in elsewhere. Food is normally acceptable but never outstanding. This isn't about the food. Last night the restaurant was only moderately busy, a number of open tables. Our host initially sat us at a tiny table immediately adjacent to the serving doorway. After asking for another table he took us into a closed off back room (bypassing many open tables) where a 13 year old birthday party was going on. The acoustics in the room were terrible so you can imagine the din. Having already requested a table change we decided to live with it. Bad mistake. So the food was ok and when our waitress asked about dinner I told her that dinner was fine but that the table sucked. Now it might be too much to think that the host might have warned us about the noise given that we had already complained about the table selection or perhaps it was a stick it to us for complaining move, but the waitress simply gave us the "that's too bad" response. End result, I have and will mention the night to several folks over the next day to 2. They could have headed that off by recognizing the complaint was an opportunity.
