I decided to give this place another try because the beauty school across the road that I usually go to now only offers dry pedicures. It still really irks me that they don't take appointments - so you show up and cross your fingers. That's annoying. I went in today after lunch (around 1) because they practically shut down for lunch. I signed in and was told that it would be an hour and a half wait for a pedicure. So I left to go shopping, called back about an hour later, and was told that I could come right in - there was no wait. I left my phone number when I checked in. It really irritated me that they didn't call me and then it REALLY irritated me when I showed up and there were 3 available students (the one I got, and one giving a pedi to the student I had last time). I'm sure I could have come in much earlier if they had called me when they were ready for me. read more

Worst school ever! Have been to Ogle and ITS and would definitely recommend Ogle over this place. Staff is so unprofessional and unprepared. Major pain to get in for an appointment just to see the school as they kept canceling and rescheduling. Then after all of that, another hurdle in getting my paperwork done on time due to them not having people around to do it. I guess they can't keep people working there long enough to run efficiently. My Fiancée Alondra Gutierrez has been coming to this school for quite some time now & I can honestly say she has mastered her skills in the professional field of her dreams. Mrs. James is her instructor with a heart of Gold that wants everyone to be happy & successful when after graduating. School waited until they started on my hair to tell me the credit card machine was down. They also wanted to charge me $60 for TWO goddess braids. My stylist only charges 15 a braid. Why would I pay 50% more for a student that can't even do feed in braids? I stopped her right then and there and said no thank you. I still gave the student a nice tip because it wasn't her fault. read more

Negative 2 stars. They allowed a "stylist" who clearly knew nothing about black hair give me a "flat iron" and trim. Literally looks like she did nothing. My hair is not in the least bit flat ironed. She trimmed a couple pieces in the middle and that was it. Literally just paid to get my hair burned and ripped out. read more

I have visited this school for many years, starting when it was "Aladdin". I have had highlights, colors, haircuts, facials, pedicures, manicures, waxing...I've had it all. For the most part I have been satisfied. Some students are obviously better than others and some take longer and I've been understanding with that fact. For one reason, and one reason alone I will NEVER go back to this school. I took a vacation day to spend the day with my 18 yr old daughter, because they were advertising a "Day of Beauty" which consisted of hair, manicure, pedicure, and facial. I signed in and I was called before my daughter, even though I wrote her name first. My beautician (who was very friendly) was starting to cut my hair and my daughter had not even been seated yet. I found an instructor (Ms. Maria) and she informed me (very abruptly) that the names are called in order. I told her my daughter was before I was and my student is starting my haircut! Finally a young women came out (don't know her name) and she had a total attitude problem. She was rolling her eyes and acting defeated. Like my daughter was bothering her. My daughter tried to ask her for suggestion about hairstyles and the student was just rolling her eyes. I told my daughter that if she is uncomfortable with this person then lets get someone else or just go. I informed "Ms Maria" that we were unhappy with this person and she seems to have an attitude problem. Ms Maria said oh no she doesn't. I told her we are uncomfortable with this situation and we would like a new person. Ms Maria said well its her turn in the rotation you can't have anyone else. She was arguing with me and being very ugly. And this is an INSTRUCTOR?!? I was very upset and Ms Maria just walked off. My student asked me what was wrong and was very concerned that we were being treated poorly. Another instructor (Ms Dobbs I believe?) told me she had been there for like 25 years and she would take care of us and that this situation was uncalled for. I then spoke to "Mr J" the director. He was worthless and pointless. He heard both sides and he was just like oh well this situation will be addressed maybe you can come tomorrow. I told him I took a vacation day today and now he and his school have ruined a day that was supposed to be fun. He gave me a coupon book which I threw in the trash. I will NEVER EVER EVER give my business to this school again. And everyone needs to heed my advice and run far away. Also, if you want to attend this school--Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money going to Duvalls, Toni & Guy, or Ogle. This place is unprofessional. p.s. afterwords we made an appointment with Duvall's School in Bedford. That is a top notch school. Everyone from the appointment desk to the instructors was very friendly. The student who took my daughter was excited when she asked for suggestions and brought out books and helped her decide what to try. My student and instructor was great. got a gift card for this place. This place kinda sucks. Was supposed to recieve a facial and pedicure. The pedicure was ok but omg, I was about to walk out on them. They have no clue on what a facial is. read more
