Terrible. Their pool size is very small. The matches didn't fit what criteria I put forth. You just get scammed of your money.

Yes! Kelsey D. that, too, happened to me: When I had my initial interview via phone, the sales person told me that she has two people in mind already. One was a college professor in finance (my professional field) and the other was an international lawyer. One was spiritually Jewish and the other was spiritual and loved the outdoors. Well....the first date was set, and it was set with neither of the two initial "perfect" matches. I specifically stated that I was looking for someone either Jewish or spiritual, but not religious. First person: Catholic. Within a few days of signing up, I began to get a bad feeling about this service. I have a strong sense of when things aren't adding up, and this situation is not adding up. Choosing NOT to use the service at all and canceling the first date, I sent an email to IJL today asking that they stop all work on my file and that I wanted a refund. The refund was denied, emphatically. I was told that I could put my membership on hold, though. In essence, I am being held hostage to use a service in the future that feels like a scam today. Six months from today, I am sure it will still feel like a scam. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and will make certain that everyone who wants to listen is aware of this scam and of the pending class action suit. I wish I had read these reviews prior to being charmed into a membership. Feeling duped in ATL. The contract is NOT signed by anyone from the company. Don't get suckered into this service... I agree with Bess. I have been a member since 2011 and was promised 14 dates or 12 months; whichever is later. 2 years later and I've been on 9 sad dates. There is no matchmaking - my dates are even given the incorrect information about me. Absolutely a waste of money. the most regrettable purchase of my life. Not one match in six dates was even close to compatibility on the most basic of criteria. either there are not very many women, or the matchmaking skills do not exist. read more

I signed up for the 6 month, 12 date agreement about 7 months ago. During that time I was matched with 4 matches. After the 2nd match I told my Matchmaker (Monique) that I wasn't attracted to my matches and she responded with "It goes both ways". The dates I have gone are super awkward because we have very little in common. Also, IJL will not change any match criteria even though the IJL website suggests otherwise. read more

The absolute worst. I joined it on some promotion which was free for women. The ladies who helped me were out of Florida and were incredibly rude and completely biased. They insisted upon setting me up with older men who looked like they were were like 20 years older! One lady actually said to me, "What 37-year-old man would date you?" It's just lunch is the absolute biggest scam out there, they take your money, BS with empty promises and never come through!! Don't be caught!! Wish I had read the reviews before falling for their BS. They take advantage of vulnerable trusting prospects that are sincere and really believe they will be properly matched, Not!!! They don't even investigate the prospects they pick the men up from other free sites like plenty of fish, and offer them free membership just to pretend they have a list of prospects. They took 3k from me, promised me at least 3 dates a month for a year, never set me up with nothing more than 3 throughout the entire time, and I asked how they were members, and that's how I found out the truth of how they search for prospects, scams!!! read more

Horrible service. Sales promised everything, service offered nothing substantial. The actual service is actually worse than online dating because pictures are limited and out of focus in amateur created PDF documents with limited information and they don't even match your main preferences. They are fast at trying to talk you out of what you are looking for if it seems like they really need to interview people. UPDATE: For those of you who made the mistake of purchasing this fraudulent "service", there is a class action lawsuit against the company, and if you joined anytime from October 15, 2001 to the present, you may be an eligible class member. I would not recommend IJL. Although the quality of people I met was good, they have no/poor screening process (appears to be just age and similar activities), a small pool of men to select from, and are very disorganized and difficult to get a hold of. For the money I spent, I expected more personal service and someone to actually get to know what I'm looking for to make a decent match. Not the case. They pretty much get you signed up and then you rarely hear from them again (or they throw you a date every once in awhile so you don't complain). I signed up after a 1 hr meeting with a very nice lady. I never heard from her again and was passed off to phone reps in FL (with high turnover of this personnel). The contract guarantees at least 12 dates in a year (she told me most likely more if I desired since they had a lot of candidates). It has now been 18 months and they have yet to find me 12 dates. Go elsewhere - they don't seem to have their act together and there are better services out there. I have spoken to several people in the Atlanta area who have had similar experiences with IJL. read more

Just had a coaching session with It's just Lunch and Sheri gave me some pointers in making this dating a more successfull venture. I would recommend It's just lunch for other daters. I can't say I have been happy with their service most of the time : ongoing staff change, you always deal with a different person each time you contact them, they do mix up your personal information , they tend to forget your preferences when matching you with dates, or they simply don't have enough candidates in their database. Out of 6 dates only two were really good ones. read more

This was a couple of years ago but they force you to sign a contract up front.You have no say if you don't like the matches they pick. I was matched with two men I had nothing in common with at all. Each date cost about $300.00 They would not work with me at all. Then they picked a guy I did not want to meet and was told I had to go or fofreit that date. They only care about money not you. I could have gone on a European vacation instead. They do not seem to care about their clients at all. Would never work with this company again. read more

I have to agree with bess. Although their coaches are very nice and seem very informative, the matchmaking skills need a lot of help. I am on the 1-year plan and I will be very surprised if anyone they match me up with is "Mr. Right" (I only have 4 more months to go)! I signed up for IJL about 5 months ago because the individual I talked with made the whole process seem much better than online dating. I 100% trusted what was being told to me and really had high expectations for the entire process and was looking forward to dating through them. My first match that was sent to me never responded back. I didn't think anything of it and agreed to go with the next person they had matched me with. The date was almost one of the worst dates I had ever been on. He was an absolute jerk, didn't stand to greet me, didn't know how to hold a conversation, ate like a pig, just horrible. I was so disappointed with the first date. However, I put it behind me and was excited for the next match to come along. The second match ended leaving the country before we could go on our date. The third match was a gentleman who didn't meet any of my interests and had a child. Even though it wasn't what I was wanting I went on the date as I am suppose to be working with real matchmakers here they probably know better. During this date the guy was very friendly; however, he discussed his past relationships, his suicide attempt, weapons he has at his house, etc. and completely freaked me out. My fourth match ended up being rescheduled multiple times and then he became unavailable to date. My fifth match stood me up at the restaurant. I waited for 30 minutes and then finally left without him showing up or providing any notice of being late or unable to arrive. My entire experience so far has been an absolute nightmare and has been as bad if not worse than online dating. I had a very lengthy discussion with the dating expert about my interests, who I am, what I am looking for, etc. before going on any date. I would think with this information that I would be set up with individuals that actually matched my interests. From the dates that I have went on I don't feel like IJL has actually listened to what I am interested in, my hobbies, etc. For example: I mentioned I would like to go horseback riding sometime even though my first encounter with horses terrified me. I also mentioned I only wanted to date someone with a child if we had a LOT in common. The date which had a child our only common interest was horseback riding. I DON'T even know if I like it or could even do it. I was terrified just being around horses the one time! Lastly, every time I talk with the matchmaker I am asked to change my main preferences such as race, education, etc. I don't feel like I should be asked to change my major preferences just because they can't do their job. If my preferences were an issue then that should have been made clear at the beginning before I signed up! Every single person that signs up is suppose to go through a face-to-face interview. This interview goes over what should be discussed on a date, how to act, etc. They attempt to make sure everyone is prepared and ready to act appropriate on a date. Therefore, I was 100% shocked by the experiences I have had on the dates. Discussing prior relationships, guns, being arrested, etc. is a complete NO on first dates. Again, I feel like IJL doesn't really know the people they have taken money from. They are clearly just interested in collecting income and not looking out for the best interests of the members who have signed up to find someone. The cost of the 6 month program I signed up for was a big investment and it has been no better than online dating. With online dating I could have at least spared myself from meeting with these gentlemen as I would have spotted the issues prior to meeting up. I 100% regret signing up and will never recommend this to anyone!!!!! I have one more date left and honestly at this time am not looking forward to it at all. It's Just Lunch has been far and away the best dating service I have experienced. The staff is very professional and strived to make sure you are achieving the goals you set out at the start. My matches have been well chosen to meet my expectations, which is further tailored by the email feedback after each date. Anton's hands on personalized service is the high point of It's just Lunch. So I heard about It's Just Lunch from a friend tonight who recommended it to me. He's known that I've been trying to find dates but that work leaves me too busy often times to find women on my own. I called up IJL this evening and was directed to someone at their Atlanta office. After giving my name and address they put me on hold. When the representative came back online she informed me that most people in my age range don't have enough money for membership and that there was therefore nobody in my age range (23) for them to match me with. I proceeded by asking her what age range they do provide matchmaking services for and she told me that there is no age range. I was slightly confused at this point and asked her then if it's just the time of year I'm calling and if at other times they would have people in my age range. She told that I could try calling back at Christmas. For what appears to be a successful business I'm left wondering why this associate wasn't more helpful. Her responses were very close ended and left me doing most of the leg work. This wouldn't be so bad but the following question I asked her was along the lines of "I'm not understanding exactly what you're saying, you're telling me there isn't an age range but you're also telling me I can't be a member, is there an age I could call back at or a certain time of year or...?" Before I could finish asking this question the associate then proceeded by hanging up on me. This left me extremely frustrated, mainly because I still haven't had my original questions answered. I'm not sure if its just because it was late in the evening when I called that I got a less enthusiastic, less knowledgeable sales rep but to me this speaks volumes about the company. It was then no surprise when I looked up reviews on the company and they were all 1 or 2 stars. This is not how you treat potential clients. This was extremely rude. I'll consider removing this review if and when I get a phone call or an apology from the associate who ended the call. Edit: In hindsight, I'll give this company a two star review instead of a one star review, for the benefit of a doubt that this wasn't discrimination but rather an accident. SCAM!!!!! Please do not make the same mistake I did and give your money to this company! When the sales person calls you, he or she will tell you they already have 2 amazing matches in mind. They promise you individualized matchmaking (so much better than Match.com or eHarmony). They say this is like having your best friend set you up. We then went through all my criteria. This call lasted over an hour going through all of my interests and goals. I was really sold that they were going to take this into consideration (WRONG! But I will get there). I said I was fairly open to the guys they set me up with but my deal breakers were no divorcees, no kids, and no smokers... First day was with the guy sales lady told me about. He was nice and the date was fine, but he accidentally let it slip that he had a girlfriend. Umm... who is this guy and why am I on a date with him?! This was obviously a fake date. I should have demanded my money back at the point but I thought they would do better the next time given the extensive feedback form I had to provide. Second date was literally my polar opposite in terms of interests. I was pretty annoyed that they wasted my time, so when I asked them why they set me up with him they gave me a lot of crap about how I liked cooking but he didn't, so I could cook for him. And I liked traveling and he didn't, so he could stay at home with my dog while I was on vacation. Are you f*(#ing kidding me? third and fourth date were so awful that I realized I had been scammed. They set me up with two divorcees with kids (remember when I told the sales consultant my deal breakers?) It was very obvious that they were setting me up with any random single guy in the city with absolutely no other criteria. When I gave them a hard time, the dating consultant told me "WE DON'T MATCH BASED ON SHARED INTERESTS, WE MATCH BASED ON WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR" When I asked what that meant, she said "HE LIVES IN YOUR CITY AND IS LOOKING FOR A RELATIONSHIP" When I asked why they set me up with people in my deal breaker list, she said that the sales consultant had filled out my form as being open to everything and not having any deal breakers (she was super rude throughout this entire conversation, btw, and told me that I was lying about the dates) Obviously, this was another key element of their scam so that customers have no way to come back later and claim fraud. This service is a scam. I demanded my money back and they said they had a no-refunds policy. When I did more research, I found out that there is a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against this company. I am in the process of getting my money back through other channels but I want to warn everyone in the country to not use this service!!! read more

My dispute concerning "It's Just Lunch" deals with the company negotiating a contract with me in bad faith and knowing that they could not perform on their promises. They promised me 4 "handpicked" dates within 6 months (but assured me it would be more) and/or 6 profiles to review that would be professionally evaluated and match up to my criteria specified after an extensive interview process. They sent me one who didn't meet my criteria remotely and another one that didn't either but I went on the date anyway, and of course it did not work out. He said he has just joined. I was so surprised that I wasn't getting more opportunities. I'm attractive, fit, smart and fun. I asked Meisha-Kay M, my dating director about the availability of men for me and she said "they are available, but none I would send to you". I asked her why, and she said I was attractive and these just wouldn't be a fit. So two weeks went by and I heard nothing. So I sent an email and asked for a refund sense they obviously could not meet their part of the agreement. I got no reply and two more weeks went by. I followed up again with Meisha by phone and email. She finally emailed and said she was so sorry for the delay and had a supervisor call me. Debbie H called, a manager and apologized as well. She said she actually had someone in mind for me and was going to send the profile to me as soon as she hung up. That was on a Friday and by the following Wednesday, I had heard nothing from her. 5 weeks had gone by without a profile sent to me. Then, they send me a new dating director and I basically told her I had contacted American express about the bill. I should have done more research because apparently they are doing this everywhere. In New York a lawsuit was won from someone that sued "It's Just Lunch", Rodriguez et al v. IJL. The complaint accused It's Just Lunch of falsely promising clients that its staff would "hand select" appropriate matches for dates. It also said the company would charge $1000 or more per person per year for services it did not deliver. I'm embarrassed I fell for this. I'm a well educated, successful female. Please pay attention to the negatives on here, because they are true. It's been awhile since I been with IJL, but wanted to warn others. DON'T DO IT! I was with IJL here in Atlanta. They were terrible. I always had to call them they never called me. When I was given a date, none were my match. I was lied to about the dates they were going to give me. Sometimes I wonder if they paid someone to just call me to let me know their car broken down. We never met up and it counted as my date. One date just told me upon my arrival that he had to run to the hospital to check on his son. I don't understand why he couldn't just call me, that too counted as my date. See what I mean? I think they were just set ups to take my money. I am a Christian, one man was a Jew. How is that a match? IJL had a law suite against them and I was apart of it. They don't have the money to pay out. There's your clue, they don't have many people in their database like they tell you. Please, please don't sign up. Buyer beware. Plus I can tell you they make misrepresentations enticing you to join like guys pay the same amount so you are getting a quality guy. Not true .... I was connected with people out of Florida. I began in January, I have yet to have a quality date. Four dates set up (one guy was definitely looking for a symbol for business purposes only or take care of in his old age, the second did not show, the third was a possible IJL employee and the fourth did not show). I spent hard earned money to find someone to take me out to dance, movie, theater --what I got was a lot of BS from the company. Lesson learned do my research first.
