Top notch appliances, clean as a whistle, beautifully and tastefully decorated, very comfortable furniture and the space and gorgeous direct ocean views are the icing on the cake! Our friends and family had plenty of room to socialize, play games, eat, drink, sleep, it is a perfect place for a gathering from small to large..the beach is so beautiful and the shores are super wide for those daily walks... Being able to have our wedding party stay with us was such a highlight and made the experience even more meaningful and fun. Fine at a Busy Time of Year…read more I wanted to go to St Augustine's "Nights of Light" celebrations and activities. Due to health issues, I didn't get to book as far in advance as I would have liked. When I did book, there weren't a lot of options in the B&B category. At Journey's End was on my list of places I would try and they did have a room for my 3 nights. I chose the Howard Carter since it is in the original house and has a large balcony to sit on. At Journey's End isn't a B&B in that they don't serve breakfast. B&Bs will also often have a little happy hour. And the hosts live in the home as well. So there are opportunities to meet other travelers and get info from the host. Here a manager comes in for a short period mid-day to clean rooms. I don't really care for AirBnBs for the same reasons--no one around and no other travelers. Anyway, our room was a bit snug, but did have a large bathroom and a large deck. I tried to sit in the common rooms downstairs to do some desk work but it was so warm I had to retreat upstairs where it was cooler. All in all, the place is nice, but doesn't really meet what I want in accommodation.

Norbert hooked us up with a beautiful condo with oceanview! It slept 10+ and was very agreeable in price! It sounds too good to be true, but they dont lie....no cleaning fees, free wifi, ocean views from the balcony, a huge indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, raquetball, you name it! Amazing weekend in an amazing condo. Everyone in our party had a blast and talked about returning to stay at the same condo next year.

For our kid companions, both were essential! Both ocean access and the providdd pool were great. They were 14 or under so they enjoyed the pool even with air temps close to 59... (hearty souls...). But that said-- even in my own visits, I noted no water or facility concerns. All seemed exceptionally well cared for. But all that aside, our unit was in great condition. We had a 3 bedroom, 2 bath... kitchen and all else was reasonably outfitted. We cooked many of our dinners here and had all we needed. Similar for breakfast. We also loved we were just a couple miles from all things St. Augustine tourist-wise. We drove up several days. It was literally a few minutes drive, and there is ample parking at the city garage should you not find other options. We enjoyed several days of walking adventures from there. This is a great home-base property for relaxing or adventuring!
