The scheduling was effortless and the appointment was made 2 days after the referral was requested. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease with hospital privileges at IU Health Methodist, IU Health University and IU Health West. Dr. Abu is also licensed to provide online care in Indiana. He accepts several different insurance plans so check with your insurance company first if you need his services. IU Health West Hospital is located at the corner of Ronald Regan Parkway and West 10th Street. The hospital has free parking and a patient drop-off area but valet parking isn't currently available. The office is just inside the main entrance and masks plus use of hand sanitizer (they provide) is required to enter. The entrance to the hospital and his office is wheelchair accessible. The office staff has always been friendly, professional and helpful. Chairs have been removed in the waiting area in order to practice social distancing. Again, masks are required in all areas of the hospital. Dr. Romeh is very professional and confident with years of experience. Whether at his office or in the hospital he listens carefully to me and repeats back what he heard. He doesn't dillydally but spends enough time to discuss everything necessary and I never feel rushed. Procedures and medication along with his treatment plan are clearly explained. Dr. Romeh allows for and always ask if I have any questions. I feel very lucky he has proceeded as he has with my treatment plan. My quality of life has improved since my procedures. Now, to tackle rehab!

This review is for the Cardiac Rehab Department at IU West Hospital in Avon on West 10th Street. It…read morewas suggested by my Pulmonologist at IU Hospital, (downtown Indy) that I participate in the Cardiac Rehab program but not as a cardiac patient since I didn't have diagnosed cardiac issues. They have a program similar to joining a gym. You pay a monthly fee ($28) under their Gym Program. You have flexible appointments, use of the equipment while having the safety of trained professionals only seconds away. You're not hooked up to the monitors but, if asked, they are happy to take your blood pressure and oxygen level. It is truly a safe zone for me and others. I started on the Gym Program but struggled on each appointment. During my second week the techs and nurses noticed the consistent issues I was experiencing. The Cardiac Tech, Jeremy, sent an update to my Pulmonologist suggesting I see a Cardiologist. 2 days later the Cardiologist's office called to schedule a tread mill in the Nuclear Medicine at the hospital. The very next day the Cardiologist called with the test results and scheduled me for the Cardiac Cath lab 2 days later. All this transpired within a 5 day period because the Tech's at Cardiac Rehab pay close attention to their patients. 4 blockages and 2 stints later I feel better everyday. I'm two months into my rehab and I hope to graduate in a few weeks. I am totally grateful as I realize they most likely saved my life, along with my Cardiologist and team. If you need a Cardiac Rehab program I highly recommend IU West Hospital on the Ground Floor. The area is cozy with a laid-back atmosphere and several muted T.V.'s and music playing. The staff consists of Megan, Aaron W., Aaron F. and Jeremy who are terrific at their jobs, friendly and keep a light, enjoyable atmosphere.

Dr. Hayford is incompetent. As the Medical Director for Ambetter Insurance he recently reviewed my…read moremedical claim and denied it. I was born with Transposition of the the Great Vessels, but Dr. Hayford likely isn't knowledgable in that area. I went to MedCheck with a heart rate of 245bmp; which along with my congenital heart defect they wisely called an ambulance. IU Health North's adult cardiologist felt it was best to send me to IU Health Methodist to be seen by the Adult Pediatric Cardiologist. I was sent via ambulance. Dr. Daniel Hayford is a pediatrician, who I am sure is wonderful in his studied profession, but he is not a Pediatric Adult Cardiologist. As such, he is not medically knowledgable to deny my coverage as "not medically necessary" and "no evidence of heart failure". If Dr. Daniel Hayford had properly reviewed my papers he would be aware of my heart defect. My pediatrician always deferred to my cardiologist in such matters. I hope none of Dr. Hayford's patients have a congenital heart defect. In the future please rethink your decisions for Cardiology patients.
