He told us that the toilet needed to be "rebuilt" but he didn't do that anymore because he did one and messed it up. He then told us we needed to replace the toilet for $1200. (A basic toilet costs about $200.) My husband was able to find the correct internal part online and installed it easily. It cost about $7. Plus the $160 that this plumber charged for coming out.
