I would like to share my positive review of IVY Kids at Lakemont. My twins have been attending IVY Kids at Lakemont since they were 18 months old. Throughout their journey from toddlerhood to Pre-K 3, I have found the teachers to be absolutely fantastic. They have consistently provided a safe and nurturing environment, giving me complete peace of mind when leaving my twins in their care. One aspect that truly impressed me is their speed and efficiency in handling any incidents or accidents. Whenever there was even a minor mishap, the teachers would promptly respond, ensuring that my husband or I were notified right away. This level of attentiveness and communication is greatly appreciated as a parent. The educational aspect of the Pre-K class has been remarkable. My twins have made tremendous progress in their learning, and I attribute much of this growth to the well-rounded curriculum offered at IVY Kids. Moreover, I was thrilled to discover that the school regularly brings in various vendors to engage the children in activities such as ballet, sports, and gymnastics. This diverse exposure has contributed to their overall development and made their experience all the more enriching. Speaking of enrichment, the summer camp provided by IVY Kids was simply outstanding. My kids were immersed in such a wide range of activities that I often found myself exhausted just hearing about their adventures. The summer program truly kept them engaged and stimulated, making it an excellent choice for parents seeking a well-rounded summer experience for their children. When it comes to value for money, IVY Kids at Lakemont exceeds expectations. The quality of education and care offered here far surpasses the price charged. Knowing that my kids are receiving top-notch education and attention makes it all the more worthwhile. Lastly, I cannot overlook the wonderful Pre-K graduation ceremony. The event was impeccably organized and showcased the achievements of the children beautifully. Witnessing my twins receive their diplomas was a proud moment for me as a parent, and it reiterated the fantastic experience they have had at IVY Kids. (Backstory) Prior to my son going to Ivy Kids he was at another daycare in the area. He started daycare at 20 months, and we knew it was going to be an adjustment for all of us. He was only there for a month, and within that time we had to get him stitches on his eyebrow after he was pushed into an uncovered book shelf. An outfit of his were lost, they stated he was biting but i also found several bite marks on him. Majority of the teachers were young, and did the bare minimum to teach the kids. It was terrible experience and I was honestly ready to quit my job and just stay at home with him longer. After leaving that daycare I knew he loved playing with other kids and really wanted to learn. We started the journey again and came across Ivy Kids(Lakemont). When we arrived we toured with the Education Director and had a lot of questions answered. We felt comfortable knowing that a lot of the staff had longevity there. So we felt they must be treated well since many daycare's in the area have high turnover rates. We liked that they had a curriculum, and that he would get a lunch made by a certified person and not just warmed up by a staff member. My son has been at Ivy Kids for 1 MONTH. In that time he has said 10 or more words, he knows the movements to many nursery rhymes, he also counts to 3 at the moment. I can not begin to explain what it feels like as a parent to see your child thrive, and also knowing that people care enough to teach these children. When you walk through Ivy Kids there is organization throughout the center. Each classroom you look in no matter what age, all of the children are learning in new and fun ways. All of the staff member's are wonderful. Sarah in the front, will greet you with a smile every morning. The Director Sirisha is very active with her staff and students. She is so nice and present to make sure that day by day classes are running as they should. Mrs.Erika is my sons teacher and you can tell that her experience is perfect for this age group as they learn and grow. I would definitely recommend Ivy Kids Lakemont. read more

My son was at another center where he was physically injured by the staff. I brought him to Lakemont Ivy Kids with these concerns and the director, Ms Kathy, made me feel instantly at home. His teachers were so kind and within two weeks, he was doing amazingly well! His verbal skills doubled, and he was happy to attend school. He was promoted and did very well under Ms. Ana, but she left after some misunderstanding and he began to struggle with a bully in his 2 year old class. Ms. Dawn, the director at the time, worked with us and allowed us to transfer my son for a few months until he was ready for the 3 yo class. He was sad to leave his teacher Miss Erica, but he flourished with the teacher we got (Ms Jackie) and loved attending school. He has been promoted again to the 3 yo class, and he is reunited with the class from before - his new teachers Miss B and Miss Jennifer are very understanding and work with me to help correct behavior and improve skills. Additional staff, including Science/Spanish teacher Miss Yaya and Chef Steve, are so wonderful I can hardly describe them! The front desk is manned by very friendly people who all know my son by name. I want for him to be somewhere he feels safe and secure, where people love him and care for him while I cannot. Nothing is ever perfect, but I believe I've found the best school I can for my son. It's affordable and conveniently located for me. The holiday celebrations are adorable and always a lot of fun. Our two daughters have been enrolled in this school for about 6 months now, and my wife and I could not be happier. The Executive Director, Sirisha Hari, works long hours to ensure her team is performing at the highest level, adhering to the Ivy Kids corporate standard. The Education Director, Brooke Gomes, combines wide international and domestic experience to her curriculum - and I have seen an immense positive impact on our children's education. Our children love their teachers and the teachers reciprocate the care and attention needed. Sarah Milnes and Hasita Kartick manage the front desk and accounting - and they are very personable and are quick to notify us, as parents, of any health or safety issues. Their transparent communication is of utmost importance to us, and they exceed in our expectations. We highly recommend Ivy Kids, more specifically, this particular Richmond branch, where the teachers, administrators, cooks and management are the best! read more

We enrolled my daughter in the summer camp here this past summer, 2018. She was in the Pre-K 2 class with Ms. Tanya and Ms. Tanzila. From the moment we first walked in for our tour and met with the director and Ms. Sarah and Ms. Brooke at the front, we felt welcome, comfortable, and impressed. The entire summer was absolutely wonderful. We loved my daughter's teachers in Pre-K 2, but want to also say that every other teacher and administrator with whom she interacted was warm, loving, and welcoming. My daughter has been to two other preschools prior (one in Boston and one in D.C.) and while we have had positive experiences at the others, I can say that hands down, Ivy Kids in Lakemont was her absolute favorite and - as a result - mine and her father's. We recommend it to all parents we know. This is truly a place that cares about your kids and the staff works together to accommodate any request that will help your child. Our daughter has been attending Ivy Kids since she was 10 months old. She is 5 years old now and recently graduated from Ivy's PreK. She now attends their schoolers program along with her older brother. My youngest son has also been there since 3 months--he's now 18months. Ivy kids has truly been a blessing to my family. The staff is nice, easy to approach and to talk to and most importantly they love my kids and are able to connect with them. My daughter has learned so much, her teachers have been awesome(shout out to Ms. Tanzila, Ms Daniela, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Denisha, Ms. Erica and Ms Nancy). The facility is clean and safe and I have no worries about my kids being there. The schoolers support program is lifesaving--I'm in constant communication with them and we've been able to work together to support my kids through their virtual learning. We've been going to this daycare for over a year now and love it! Sarah at the front desk is always so nice when we arrive in the morning, and my daughter always runs to give hugs to the staff that greets her everyday. Mrs. Delilah was my son's favorite teacher. He's now in kindergarten, but she always asks about him, showing she cares! My daughter still waves to her old teacher Mrs. Erica every time we see her in the hall. This place is always clean, smells good (you know how bad it can get!), and they always have the center decorated fun for the kids. They have great programming, academics, and also fun field trips for the big kids. I also appreciate their endeavors to give back to the community, i.e. the food bank drive and toy donations. I'm so thankful for Ivy Kids. We started my daughter there when she was 2 1/2 years old and she has transitioned through 2 classrooms now. . Ms. Nancy has been a life savor with my daughter. She is patching her eye for several medical reasons. Ms. Nancy, Ms. Payton, and Ms. J have made it so easy for my daughter to willlingly put and keep the patch on for the designated time each day. They have worked with all the children in the room to make it a fun experience. I'm so thankful for this!! My son goes before and after care and loves all of his teachers as well. Wonderful staff, loving, kind, sweet! My only problem is the management. The director Ms.Kathy is the worst director I've honestly ever come across. NOTHING gets taken care of, she will only take initiative to correct something once its been brought to the owners attention, anytime i come in she is sitting in her office on her CELL PHONE!! I could go on and on about how awful she is, and they got rid of the director whom everyone I've talked to actually liked and replaced her with the desk girl. She has no idea what she's doing, it was a mistake putting her in a position of power. Ivy Kids is going down hill, and quickly. NEED NEW MANAGEMENT NOW!! read more

Our son has been going to Ivy Kids Lakemont since he was 2 years old and are glad we made that choice. He's always telling us what he learned that day and we can tell he really likes his friends and teachers since he keeps mentioning them at home. The school is very good at sending out daily reports to see how he did throughout the day and will let us know right away if he's not feeling well. We feel like all of the teachers and staff pretty much know our son's name every time we pick him up and is always happy to see them every morning. We definitely look forward to having our next child come to Ivy Kids Lakemont in the near future. read more

My family and I toured a handful of daycares in our neighborhood and it was an easy decision to send our son to Lakemont Ivy Kids! He has learned so much in the short amount of time that he has been there thanks to Ms. Jennifer, Ms. Blue and all the others teachers that assist daily in his classroom. They are fantastic teachers and more importantly my son absolutely loves them. They are both very loving and hands on which we really like. My daughter has been attending Ivy Kids in Richmond since she was two years old. Every school year she had had the most wonderful, fun, and loving teachers. I have never been worried about leaving her at this school. She has had great opportunities in learning and in creating strong relationships with not only the staff but other students as well.
