Our daughter was a regular at Ivy League from about fourth grade until she graduated from an elite high school and went on to a top university (coincidentally or not, an "Ivy League" university). We brought her to Ivy League for tutoring in math initially, not because she was having problems but because we knew that she could excel in math as she already did in other areas. The tutoring at Ivy League helped her (and us) do extremely well in the most demanding math courses her school offered, as well as on every standardized test she took. Our daughter's tutors were always prepared and focused, with a genuine love of and expertise in mathematics and related areas. Some of the tutors are knowledgeable in multiple fields, and with their encouragement, our daughter discovered an interest in logic puzzles and became acquainted with math and logic games, puzzles, and concepts that were outside of the curriculum and expanded her general and specific knowledge. It has been quite a few years since her time at Ivy League; looking back, I recall the tutoring services provided as being top-notch. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! While it's been years since my wife and I brought my son, his reading level jumped 2 grades over the summer and he immediately ascended from an student to an excellent one. Ivy League is awesome! My child has been in their program since Kindergarten. I have seen amazing success with NWEA scores and report cards. I went to Ivy League from the 5th grade all the way through high school. Without it, I would not have been able to attend Northwestern University. Last year my daughter expressed that she needed and wanted a tutor because she was falling behind in a couple of subjects. I was referred to Ivy League tutoring by her teacher. I must say, Ivy League Tutoring has proven to be exactly what my daughter needed in a tutoring facility. Both of her tutors (Charlene and Cole) have shown extreme proficiency in their respective subject matter. I usually sit in on the sessions and am amazed at how easy it is for them to break down the subject. They both recognize when she doesn't understand something and try to find other ways to explain it. My daughter has become more confident while excelling in both subjects (math and English). My niece's sessions were limited to the summer. She was tested and an protocol was established for her tutoring sessions, That protocol is responsible for creating good study habits and for my niece consisting testing in the top two percent of her class and her school. 2. Ivy League Tutoring establishes an educational relationship with its clients. Ivy League is there to assist its clients throughout all their educational pursuits. Clients of Ivy League Tutoring are SAT/ACT high scorers; attendees of prestigious, well known colleges and universities; and National Merit Scholarship winners. Many of Ivy League Tutoring past clients are now successful in business, education, and government. 3. Ivy League Tutors have Masters degrees and above and are qualified for tutoring in the areas of study needed by the client. The basis of highly educated individuals offering one-to-one instruction on which Ivy League Tutoring was founded is a good one which should be modeled and applauded. However, the fundamentalist approach to education yields two results: thinkers who are taught to be dependant on test scores to define their worth, and only accepting of instruction if offered by representative of a culture the media would depict as better than those whose ancestors developed the first mathematical systems, and began the worlds first universities. While our children must be supported and challenged academically throughout their lives, it is equally important to develop well rounded, independent thinkers who grow into positive contributors to society.
