There are one or two receptionists who are really nice and made me feel better- but it was not enough to make up for the lack of care by the entire office. I came here, because I really enjoyed the doctor and the way she treated me at the ER. I decided to drive to appointments all the way from East Grand Rapids to see this doctor. Unfortunately, because of construction- even leaving early I would not always be able to make it on time. This office says they have a ten minute rule, and both of those times I was at the office within the ten minutes and was forced to reschedule extremely important appointments- even though I called and said I was trying my very best. I understand that being late isn't a good thing, but I followed the rules, tried my best, and was as respectful. My last visit to the office I had sped through traffic and attempted checking in at 11:24 am (my appointment was at 11:15) after calling that I was stuck in construction only to be told this was my third appointment where I had to reschedule and they were dismissing me as a patient. I couldn't even get a minute to talk to someone and was silenced and told to leave when I tried to discuss an important topic (I had recently had to file a police report for stolen medication, and also have very bad asthma that had been flaring up in the summer humidity. It's been rough.) I really did not feel cared about even remotely by the staff. I had sent emails and received short responses to serious questions. It was impossible to communicate, and I received different answers about serious things from all the staff members. I never received any reminder calls. Often I had to go to the Cascade Immediate Care center (which was cheaper....) to get a prescription to one of my inhalers, because this office would not refill without an appointment. They also scheduled an appointment for each issue instead of addressing the concern when needed- which costs a ridiculous amount of money! The worst part is that I received a letter saying the physician and I didn't share "mutual respect." I don't feel that if was a very professional thing to say, and to say someone doesn't respect you or vice versa without any communication is very insulting. My personal experience is that this office is really just trying to make money by rescheduling too many times, and dropping patients. They have awful ways of communicating and show no concern to serious issues. Seriously, just avoid this office.

He's always willing to do whatever he can to help, even going beyond what most in the health care sector would ever do. After getting a particularly awful migraine, I went to Dr. Doran since most of my headaches are related to my neck being out of alignment. He adjusted me and told me to come back in an hour if I didn't feel better, and he wouldn't even charge me for the second appointment. I was still in pain and so I went back. He told me afterwards that I should call him at home the next day if I was still in pain, and he'd be willing to come in on his day off and see what else he could do. Luckily, I was fine after the 2nd visit, but I was still floored at the offer. He was willing to come in on a day off! I've never experienced that with any other doctor/chiropractor/etc, and I can't even begin to say just how appreciated it was. If you are in the area and need a chiropractor, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Doran! He's a friendly guy and an excellent chiropractor.
