And then it was the luckiest day for me when Althea Parry-Childerley was assigned to my case. I can't say enough good things about Ivy Rehab or Althea. What an upbeat, fun, attentive group of professionals who care about finding creative ways to recreate your daily activities so as to strengthen your weak areas. Before coming to Ivy Rehab, I could not walk up or down a flight of stairs without taking them one step at a time and being in pain. After working with Althea, I am surprised at not only being able to tackle the stairs like a healthy person, but with heavy items in my arms. Althea's attention to my care has made a huge improvement to my health and as a result, my overall happiness. Not being in constant pain is a beautiful thing. Ivy Rehab is a superior facility. Everyone has a smile and takes the time to greet each patient. You will be greeted by David at the front desk, who no matter how early, always has a warm welcome. Once entering the work out area, you are greeted by a team of therapists who are highly skilled, knowledgeable and strive to maintain a high level of professionalism. Jessica is my therapist and I am quite impressed with her expertise. She is constantly watching to make sure that I am exercising properly (even when I think she isn't looking!). She constantly tailors my program to my personal needs- often adding or eliminating exercises. Jensen, a highly qualified PT aide has a warm and welcoming demeanor. I have often witnessed him go outside to assist patients out or into their car. He is a strong asset to the staff at Ivy Rehab. Raquel, is the lymphedema specialist on-site and she has magical abilities in lymphatic draining and wonderful bedside manners. She is a teacher and an amazing practitioner. I was diagnosed with lymphedema in 2018 and regularly saw an NYC-based lymphedema specialist for 6 months without any significant results. After only two sessions with Raquel, the hard and heavy area of my arm impacted most by the lymph fluid has begun to soften!! Raquel also ensured that I understood the mechanics of the lymphatic system and how drainage works. Looking forward to reversing the lymphedema! The only drawback with Ivy Rehab is that the facility is not as luxurious as the NYC-based physical therapy practice that I previously went to. But, it is clean and that is all that really matters. read more

Debbie rehabilitated my back 10 years ago and now is putting me on the road to recovery for a torn meniscus! This is a great place to rehab. I had my right knee replaced on June 20 with the help of Althea and her associates, Joe, Adam, Monica, and Chris I am back to nearly normal. I had repeated spasms (several times an hour) in the nerves running from my neck down to the thumb and fingers of my left hand. While the medication helped, it was the heat, stretching and other therapies I received from Jamie Sternberg and the staff that helped relieve the pressure in my spine and neck and ended the spasms.
